    * Requires overclocking/BIOS adjustments. Maximum speed and performance depends on system components, including motherboard and CPU.

Ripjaws S5 is a performance DDR5 DRAM memory series designed for compatible Intel platforms, featuring a simple and clean design in matte black or matte white, and a low-profile module height at 33mm.

    • 33mm Low Profile Module Height
    • Dual OC Profile Support: Intel XMP 3.0 & AMD EXPO™ Memory Overclock Profile
    • Do not mix memory kits. Memory kits are sold in matched kits that are designed to run together as a set. Mixing memory kits will result in stability issues or system failure.
    • Prior to enabling XMP or EXPO, memory kits will boot at the SPD speed at default BIOS settings with compatible hardware.
    • For memory kits with XMP or EXPO, enable XMP/EXPO/DOCP/A-XMP profile in BIOS to reach up to the rated potential XMP or EXPO overclock speed of the memory kit, subject to the use of compatible hardware. Enabling XMP or EXPO is an act of overclocking and requires BIOS setting adjustments.
    • Reaching the rated XMP/EXPO overclock speed and system stability will depend on the compatibility and capability of the motherboard and CPU used.
    • Usage in any manner inconsistent with manufacturer specifications, warnings, designs, or recommendations will result in lower speeds, system instability, or damage to the system or its components.

Refer to the G.SKILL memory kit QVL on the G.SKILL website to check motherboard compatibility.

The G.SKILL Ripjaws S5 F5-5200J4040A48GX2-RS5W is a 96GB (2 x 48GB) DDR5-5200 dual-channel desktop memory kit for gamers and PC enthusiasts who want high capacity, Intel XMP 3.0 or AMD EXPO profiles, and a white low-profile design.

    Recommended For

    • PC users running memory-heavy work—such as large creative projects, software development, virtual machines, or data sets—who need more capacity than a typical 64GB kit provides and can use 96GB across two DIMMs.
    • Builders with a compatible DDR5 desktop platform who want a matched 2×48GB kit, with Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO profiles available for setting the rated speed in BIOS.
    • Compact desktop builders or users with a large CPU cooler who need low-profile memory; G.SKILL lists the modules at 33mm tall, while advising buyers to check cooler clearance.
    • PC builders who prefer a simple white memory kit to coordinate with a white-themed desktop, without needing onboard RGB lighting.

    Real-World Use Scenarios

    • When editing demanding 4K video projects in Premiere Pro, the 96GB capacity can leave more room for footage, effects, and other open applications. The benefit depends on the project and the rest of the PC; it does not guarantee faster playback or exports.
    • When running several virtual machines for software testing, IT labs, or learning server administration, 96GB gives the host and guest systems more memory to share, which can help avoid memory pressure. The number of VMs it can handle still depends on each VM’s allocation, CPU, and storage.
    • For development work with multiple containers, local databases, test services, and browser tools open at once, the extra capacity can reduce the need to close workloads to free memory. It is most useful when those tools actually push a smaller system near its memory limit.
    • When gaming while keeping a stream, voice chat, browser tabs, and creator tools open, 96GB provides plenty of memory headroom for the combined workload. For gaming by itself, this capacity is unlikely to improve frame rates compared with an adequate smaller kit.
    • In a PC build with a large air cooler or limited space around the memory slots, the 33mm-low modules may make cooler clearance easier to manage. Check the cooler’s clearance and the motherboard’s memory compatibility list before installation.
