    * Requires overclocking/BIOS adjustments. Maximum speed and performance depends on system components, including motherboard and CPU.

Ripjaws S5 is a performance DDR5 DRAM memory series designed for compatible Intel platforms, featuring a simple and clean design in matte black or matte white, and a low-profile module height at 33mm.

    • 33mm Low Profile Module Height
    • Dual OC Profile Support: Intel XMP 3.0 & AMD EXPO™ Memory Overclock Profile
    • Do not mix memory kits. Memory kits are sold in matched kits that are designed to run together as a set. Mixing memory kits will result in stability issues or system failure.
    • Prior to enabling XMP or EXPO, memory kits will boot at the SPD speed at default BIOS settings with compatible hardware.
    • For memory kits with XMP or EXPO, enable XMP/EXPO/DOCP/A-XMP profile in BIOS to reach up to the rated potential XMP or EXPO overclock speed of the memory kit, subject to the use of compatible hardware. Enabling XMP or EXPO is an act of overclocking and requires BIOS setting adjustments.
    • Reaching the rated XMP/EXPO overclock speed and system stability will depend on the compatibility and capability of the motherboard and CPU used.
    • Usage in any manner inconsistent with manufacturer specifications, warnings, designs, or recommendations will result in lower speeds, system instability, or damage to the system or its components.

Refer to the G.SKILL memory kit QVL on the G.SKILL website to check motherboard compatibility.

The G.SKILL Ripjaws S5 F5-5200J4040A48GX2-RS5K is a 96GB (2 x 48GB) DDR5-5200 dual-channel desktop memory kit for gamers, enthusiasts, and other users who need substantial memory capacity on a compatible DDR5 system.

    Recommended For

    • DaVinci Resolve editors working with demanding 4K projects who want 96GB of system memory; Puget Systems lists 96GB as its minimum guideline for 4K Resolve work.
    • Developers or IT users who keep several virtual machines running alongside their main desktop environment and need memory headroom for concurrent workloads.
    • Content creators handling complex projects or running multiple creative applications at once, where memory use can exceed the 64GB commonly suggested for demanding workflows.
    • Desktop builders who need a 96GB, two-module DDR5 kit and prefer a low-profile 33mm design with Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO profiles; confirm the motherboard’s memory support before buying.

    Real-World Use Scenarios

    • When editing complex video projects—especially RAW footage, long timelines, or edits with effects—users can keep more of the project and other apps in memory, reducing the chance that limited RAM disrupts playback or multitasking. It does not guarantee faster exports, which also depend on the CPU, GPU, and project settings.
    • For After Effects or motion-graphics work with large compositions and RAM previews, the extra capacity can accommodate larger working sets and caches. This is most useful when projects already strain a smaller amount of memory; it will not make every project render faster.
    • When working across 3D tools such as Blender, Substance, and Unreal Engine, users can keep larger scenes or assets loaded while switching between applications. The benefit is most noticeable when those projects would otherwise push the system into memory pressure.
    • For a home lab or development setup running several virtual machines and services at once, the memory can be divided among more concurrent workloads before the host has to rely on slower disk-backed memory.
    • For gaming while streaming, browsing, or keeping creative software open, the 96GB capacity provides extra room for those simultaneous tasks. For gaming by itself, extra capacity beyond what the game and background apps use is unlikely to meaningfully raise frame rates.
