I really like this switch. It has all the great management features you would want, the GUI makes sense, VLANs work as expected, it has POE, and it's got a great slim form factor for wall mounting and getting it out of the way. Comes with the screws necessary to wall mount as well.

This switch replace a couple of desktop type gigabit switches uplinked together to a router. Simplified cabling quite a bit. Since I have a 22U cabinet full of servers, the rack mount setup is a big plus, also cutting down on the tangle of cables in that area. Also I really like the regular power cord receptacle that allows using different cords. I have a monitor style cord plugged into it and it gets power from the monitor power socket on an old Power Mac G4 desktop converted to rack mount. And of course no more wall warts consuming power strip space on top of that.

Solid 10G Plenty of power for POE

Plenty of ports for running my home wired network. Plug and play.

This family of switches just plain works. I now have three of them as the DLink and other switches die off. Solid metal boxes with indicators and sockets on one side and power on the other. Can be wall mounted.

The MS305 (pay attention to the model number when purchasing) is a fine addition to a home network, especially with moving moderately large amounts of data between devices (pictures, streaming, archives) internally or via the Internet.

Easy setup, reliable, and fast with a lifetime warranty. This is the third Netgear switch I have bought. I have the GS108T, GS105, and now the GS108. Never had a problem with any of them.
