Pros: Impressive beefy heat sink ensures excellent heat dissipation and looks great!
Machines that utilize the speed of this drive with your OS installed will increase your boot rate times along with loading programs/games more quickly. For testing I cloned my OS over to this drive and it definitely increased my overall speeds compared to my previous drive!
The PCIe Gen 4 NVMe standard doubles the speed compared to previous versions of PCIe Gen 3 NVMe. Just make sure your board supports it if you want to get the full speed out of this drive.
The Corsair MP600 PRO XT is backwards compatible with PCIe Gen 3.0 NVMe but will only give you half the rated speed. So, if you are still running a motherboard with PCIe Gen 3.0 NVMe and need to upgrade your current storage this drive will work fine and can be swapped over when you upgrade to a newer mother board. Verified by testing on a spare Gen 3 machine.
If your motherboard has integrated M.2 NVMe heat-sinks that are removable and you are confident in your boards cooling capacity you can remove the preinstalled heat sink and install the drive utilizing your boards existing M.2 heat sink. Corsair provides a link on their product information page with detailed instructions for how to remove the preinstalled heat sink. Which they state will not void your warranty unless the components are damaged!
Cons: Some boards with multiple M.2 2280 slots may not be able to use the preinstalled heat sink if the GPU is directly over one of the slots. But this is easily remedied by moving the drive to another free slot.
Overall Review: An excellent choice and good price if you have a newer board that fully supports PCIe 4.0x4 NVMe!
5-year warranty!
Current Firmware is EIFM31.4 out of the box no update was needed when checked with Corsair SSD toolbox at the time of my install.
Pros: I fairly recently upgraded my main PC and added a 1TB WD Black SN850, so I have a great comparison point. Using CrystalDiskMark on the corsair MP600 I was able achieve read speeds of about 7,300 MB/s and write speeds of 5,900 MB/s, see attached file. Alternatively, I was able to achieve speeds of about 7,000 MB/s and write speeds of about 5,700 MB/s on the SN850. So a measurable performance difference. In terms of my workload, not something Id notice. For the few motherboards that dont have heatsinks for the m.2 slot the included one works great and looks good. For those that have heatsinks that are integral to the motherboard the heatsink comes off pretty easy. I was able to take it off without any tools.
Cons: Honestly the only con would be the included heatsink, which most motherboards no longer require, and the perceived price increase because of it. The price of the drive was pretty spot on with similarly performing drives regardless of heatsinks.
Overall Review: Overall this is a fantastic M2 SSD, for the price its competitive, especially when its on sale. I honestly wouldnt overthink if it will fit with the heatsink or not. Its easy to take off and the drive stays cool even with the included motherboard style ones.
Top of the line PCIe Gen4 m.2 nVME SSD3/21/2022 7:45:34 PM
Pros: This is one of the fastest Gen4 SSDs on the market, even marginally faster than the highly rated and popular offerings from competitors, as it uses the Phison E18 controller and latest Micron Flash memory to outperform Corsairs previous MP600 Pro .
Speeds were excellent and mostly performed as advertised advertised on an Asus Z670 Prime with an Intel i7-12700K CPU with DDR5 5600. As you can see in my screenshots, this SSD outperformed a very popular competitor from SK slightly in Seq reads but quite a lot in Seq Writes. It didnt quite hit the advertised write speeds but that may be due to my write caching settings.
The build and feel is also significant, with an absolutely monstrous heat sink that cools better than the included one on the motherboard. Ideally you still this SSD in the single cooler slot, or if you use two, put it in the double slot as you will not be able to fit the stock cooler on top.
Also, I had to remove the thermal pad on the bottom of the m.2 slot or the MP600 Pro XT would not fit.
Cons: Make sure you can fit this SSD in your system, bottom clearance is an issue too since there is a aluminum plate under the SSD also. You may not be able to fit this under your GPU so make sure your SSD spots are above your GPU or clear the heat sink. I dont think this would fit into consoles as the heat sink seems too tall.
Also, this is a minor aesthetic issue but if you install the SSD with the gold fingers pointing right, the Corsair logo is upside down. Just a minor thing that wouldnt be too hard to fix.
Overall Review: Overall this is a great SSD from a company in Corsair that is committed to excelling at everything when it comes to PC gaming.
Pros: The Corsair MP600 Pro XT M.2 2280 1TB SSD comes in a simple box and is well protected. I've attached the benchmark stats based on 3DMark running on a ASUS Prime System board and an Intel core i9-10900X processor. This disk was installed on one of the onboard direct M.2 slots when tested. The Corsair MP600 Pro scored a 2789 under the 3DMark benchmark. Below are the other two SSD's I have in my system for comparison.
Samsung SSD 860 Evo 1TB scored 1085
Intel SSDPEKNW010T9 1TB scored 2290.
Cons: This may be a con for users installing in a confined space. The heat sink on this Corsair MP600 is considerable at around 1/2" tall. I know quite a few devices this simply would not fit inside of. I don't think its worth docking an egg for. The heat sink will do a great job at dissipating heat if that is your goal. At least your going in with your eyes open rather than being surprised by it.
Overall Review: Overall I think this is a great M.2 SSD and I would recommend it for users who have space to install it.

Pros: - PCIe Gen4 x4, 3D TLC NAND, NVME M.2 drive. Up to 7,100MB/sec sequential read and 6,800MB/sec sequential write speeds. Backward compatible with PCIe Gen3.
- Large aluminum heat spreader.
- Rated for up to 3,000TB writes, 1M+ IOPS.
- 5 year warranty.
Cons: Corsair SSD Toolbox software needs to be fixed, It would not let me clone my existing drive to Corsair's drive.
Overall Review: - The 1 TB MP600 PRO XT drive arrived very quickly from Newegg. The item was well packaged for shipping. The drive itself is permanently mated to a very hefty heatsink. It is not immediately apparent if the heat sink can be easily detached. Because the size of the heatsink, the MP600 PRO XT is not designed for use in laptops. Installed the drive on my PCs motherboard and then cloned my current 1 TB C drive to MP600 PRO XT using 3rd party software (Corsairs SSD Toolbox returned errors).
- The performance of MP600 PRO XT is top notch. I am clocking sequential reads speeds of 3084 MB/s and write speeds of 2943 MB/s (Win 11 Pro/Z390 AORUS PRO WIFI/i79700K).
While MP600 PRO XT is not a budget drive, its performance will not disappoint. The build quality is top notch. Large heatsink is great for cooling. Fast read/write speeds will get things done. Corsair backs MP600 PRO XT with 5 year warranty.
Easy installation, faster than my 6600 IOPS NVMe drive4/15/2022 11:06:21 AM
Pros: Noticeably faster booting VMs, due to extra 10-15% read rate over my old 6600iops NVMe drive.
Hefty cooler
Cons: Need a lot of clearance for the cooler; I had to shuffle NVMe drives to find a slot with enough overhead for it (the others have cards installed over them.)
Overall Review: I always recommend and trust Corsair and Crucial for my memory needs.
