The Planar Helium PCT2435 is a 23.8-inch Full HD touchscreen monitor with 10-point projected-capacitive touch, making it suitable for interactive workstations, presentations, and other desktop tasks that benefit from direct screen input.
Recommended For
- Windows desktop users who want to tap, scroll, or use multi-touch gestures directly on a 24-inch screen; Planar specifies up to 10 touch points and HID-compliant basic touch operation.
- Automotive technicians using a fixed diagnostic-PC workstation who want a larger touchscreen for navigating diagnostic software; the PCT2435 was used with Snap-on ZEUS diagnostic carts, though cart fit should be checked.
- Users building a fixed interactive display who want a large touch surface with an adjustable stand; the stand tilts from nearly upright to flat, and the monitor includes a USB hub and speakers.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- At a desk, someone using touch-friendly apps can tap, scroll, and manipulate on-screen controls directly instead of reaching for a mouse; the monitor needs a video connection and a USB connection to the computer for touch input.
- For a fixed information or self-service kiosk, an operator can pair the monitor with a computer and position the adjustable stand for users to tap through menus, forms, or a website; it is a monitor, not a standalone kiosk computer.
- In a small group presentation or shared workstation, people can take turns interacting with touch-enabled content on the screen; its multi-touch support also allows compatible software to register several simultaneous touch points.
- For a counter, reception area, or service desk, staff can use touch controls to navigate an application while keeping the setup relatively uncluttered; the built-in speakers provide basic audio without requiring separate desktop speakers.
- When a touchscreen is needed on a mounted desk or work surface, the monitor can be VESA-mounted or used with its adjustable stand, letting the user choose a position suited to seated or hands-on interaction.
