4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: The remote seems to work just fine for Windows 7 Pro. It does everything that it's listed to do.

I like that it has a shutdown option to turn your computer off without needing to use a mouse.

Cons: There are way too many buttons. Most of the time that would not be a horrible thing, but there are buttons that I will never use and it makes the remote more bulkier than it needs to be.

I don't know about most of you but I HATE using windows media center, there is a Windows media center button right below the "play" button and sometimes I tend to press it causing it to start the program, then I have to wait for it to finish loading all of my media before I can close it out. I know that's the program that this remote is designed for, but I wish the button was not dead center in the remote.

The "stop" buttons isn't working anymore after about 2 weeks of using the remote.

Other Thoughts: I wish that I could program / disable some of the buttons that I don't need.

It would be a much better remote if it was backlit.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: Easy setup: plug it in, it works.
Has every button on it you'll ever need for WMC.
Works sitting across my living room.

Cons: You have to point it right at the sensor or it doesn't work.
No light up buttons.
Netflix function refers to the config utility in which you can choose to have the big green button open netflix. However, it doesn't work. I really don't care, but they make it sound like a positive feature of this remote, and it doesn't even work.
The USB plug is larger and looks kind of funny sticking out the front of my HTPC.

Other Thoughts: This remote is good for the price you pay. It will work for now. I will probably use it, but I also installed an app on my ipad that works really good. It's call Air Keyboard, and you can configure any type of keyboard layout you want, including media controls. You can create a track pad also so you can have full mouse capabilities. If I had the 7" ipad instead of this 10" one I'd just ditch the remote altogether.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: It works

Cons: I bought this for my Min ITX HTPC computer running win 8 and it does not work with it. I do have win 7 on a different machine and it does work on that. That is why I only put 3 eggs because it says will work with win 8

Other Thoughts: I bought a Flirc and I would recommend this to anyone who has an HTPC. You can find it at flirc.tv and you can very easily program any remote with this small usb dongle. Go check it out

4 out of 5 eggsValue remote for MythTV

Pros: Easy setup in Linux for Ubuntu MythTV as a MCE remote. Used for several months and has good battery life with rechargeable batteries. Range is good, at least to about 20 feet. USB key is relatively small, and would work well for if neighboring ports are used on the sides.

Cons: Buttons are smaller than a typical remote, but easy to get used to. Large branding in Red Lettering at bottom of remote. Directional keys are close to the ok button.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works OK for what it is

Pros: Bought this to control W7 on my HTPC... it works pretty well within WMC, not at all on the desktop or other system navigation.

Cons: The button labels are so tiny, I have a very hard time seeing them in dim light... in fact, the buttons themselves are tiny.

The included USB entension is really too short... I needed it to run from the back of the case to the front for the IR receiver, I wound up having to buy another, longer, extension to get the IR out far enough.

Other Thoughts: I bought this thing for cheap... you get what you pay for. It does work well within WMC, and is fairly easy to use when you can see the buttons. I'll be shopping for a more advanced remote soon.

5 out of 5 eggsvery nice mce remote

Pros: Very nice MCE remote. Been using it for a while now. Solid - I can grab it by the ends and try to twist it, makes no squicky sounds unlike cheapo remotes. Replaced my happauge turner remote that had problems working after wake up, no more such issues.

Cons: does every MCE function without an issue, unlike my happauge tuner remote

5 out of 5 eggsI'm diggin' it!

Pros: Works Windows Media Center or an Xbox 360. I bought two for the kids rooms and the kids are using an Xbox as a Media Center Extender to watch TV using a Ceton InfiniTV Quad Tuner with an M-Card (big savings long term versus renting boxes from Comcast)! I plan to buy another to use with the computer in the office, too!

Cons: For the Xbox, it seems like you have to be in line-of-sight to work unlike the standard controllers. But not a show stopper for us as far as likeability!

Only thing I really wish this had was the ability to control the TV power and the volume. It only controls the volume through Media Center (or through the computer). But to be fair I have not easily found any MCE remotes that allowed you to configure it to control the TV power and volume.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than the remote that came with my Hauppauge tuner

Pros: -it works on Windows Media Center in Windows 7 without installing additional drivers.
-has all the buttons you would need for WMC

Cons: -buttons a bit small
-not backlit
-not a universal remote
-not an RF remote

Other Thoughts: I purchased this remote to replace the basic remote that was included with my Hauppauge tuner. After a few years that remote just died so I needed to replace it. Now I wish I had replaced my old remote before it died. I like the additional skip forward and skip backwards buttons and help me skip commericals more efficiently.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Remote

Pros: I don't obsess over HTPC type tech, so I'll just say this is a good general purpose remote.

Cons: Buttons are small, but I guess this could be considered a Pro to some, if you are looking for something with a small overall form-factor.
