5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: fits AM3+ sockets perfect
keeps my FX Series CPU at a constant 14°C
Fits wonderfully in my new rig
Fairly inexpensive (I wasn't looking to spend much)
better than my water cooling set up I had.

Cons: A little challenging to install, but overall I have no other cons

Other Thoughts: The comments saying it doesn't fit either don't know how to install it or have the wrong socket type.

BUY THIS FAN. is great

On the water cooling issue:
1. I hate having to refill and constantly monitor.
2. This alternative is vastly cheaper to water cooling
3. This alternative is just a lot more simple to water cooling.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat air cooler!

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: This air cooler looks really nice. It keeps my CPU cool all while being super quiet, which is great for those who dislike noisy systems. The way the fans are attached to the heat sink allows for easy swapping and removal.

Cons: While the big size helps it cool better, it can also be a problem to those with certain motherboards! With both fans on one RAM slot is blocked (though not an issue for me as I only use 2 modules) for me.

Other Thoughts: This is a very nice air cooler for those who are wary of switching to water cooling and want the most out of an air cooler. Just be wary of one RAM slot being blocked.

5 out of 5 eggsBought CPU cooler - It cools CPU

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: - Works as expected
- Good cooling and relatively quiet at low-mid RPM speeds

Cons: - It's pretty big, but that's what gives it such great cooling performance

Other Thoughts: So I have an AMD A10-5800K. I've always had problems getting it to perform as well as it should, even with higher performance RAM (2133 or 2400) and tried all sorts of tricks to get it to run better.

Then I figured that I probably got a bad unit. If that was the case, then it would simply be less efficient and making way too much heat. Well, I could pay $150 to replace it, to get a decent graphics card, or less than that to get an after-market cooler.

For anyone looking at cooling solutions, here is the thing: When an air-cooler gets too hot, the computer shuts down. When a water cooler gets too hot, it can burst or leak. I feel a lot better about pushing temps on an air cooler for that alone.

So I went out and bought this, the 140mm one was out of stock and wouldn't have fit in my case so I'm glad I didn't get it.

So anyways, before this, my CPU couldn't even sustain the turbo frequency @ 4.2Ghz and would cause some wonky stuff to happen so I turned it off.

Now it can reach 4.7, 4.6 stable, and 4.4 with safe temps. Now that I have a GPU and I'm not using integrated, I can push it even further! Great cooler.

5 out of 5 eggssimply cool and quiet

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: easy to install with very detailed instructions. installed it on an 1150 socket Intel board and it keeps my core i5 4670k running no more than 43*C on ultra settings in Battlefield 4

Cons: absolutely none

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: Awesome Color
great design
all 4 sticks of RAM + Heatsinks fit!
quiet (little noise at full speeds)
price was decent, could be a bit cheaper. Perhaps$10 less.
was fairly easy to install (Intel 1150)
Nice directions
Keeps my CPU nice and cool

Cons: Non really
if you have big or shaky hands the installation could be a pain if you are installing it in the case.

5 out of 5 eggsThis cooler keeps the CPU frosty

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: GREAT CPU COOLER! Keeps my CPU nice and cool. very nicely constructed. have this mounted on my AMD Phenom II 965 Black edition and it is so much more quiet then stock cooler and running about 20 Degrees cooler.
mounting instructions a fairly easy to follow and installation took about 5 minutes. I would recommend this cooler to anyone looking for a nice quiet and efficient Air cooling solution for their build.

Cons: Have to be able to find one!

Other Thoughts: With 4 colors to choose from you can fdind one to match almost any build. the only thing you could really ask for is make a few more colors lol.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: Silent at idle levels. Doesn't go over 60 degrees C at max load on my 4770k with a decent over clock.

Cons: The tape covering the contact portion of the heat sink did not come off cleanly at all and I had to clean it myself.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid construction, performance, and value

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: Overall:
- solid build quality throughout with attention to engineering and layout
- low cost compared to some others

Fans:
- feature long plugs, but also tucked nicely around fan body in my build when used with included splitter
- plug-and-bracket connection system attaches easily to cooler body
- small rubber strips sit between fan body and cooler body and help eliminate any vibration feedback noise

Cooler body:
- large eight pipe construction is heavy (a good thing) and great build quality

Mounting system:
- Intel 1150 compatible (use 1155 mounting directions)
- allows choice of direction when mounting
- easy to follow instructions, though some may be confused
- rock-solid connection with no wiggle after mounting
- intended for dual fan, but can use one if fit is an issue (on my Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H with Ripjaws X, there is NO clearance issue with the medium/high profile RAM heatsinks when placed in the first RAM slot , although it is close to touching it - this can vary depending on motherboard)

Color/Customization:
- lowest on the pros for me but higher for some, the ability to choose from a variety of colors was nice; I went with white to go with my case and build

Cons: Instructions:
- while I had no problems following the instructional images, some may be confused

Other Thoughts: Phanteks includes a small syringe of thermal compound with the fan, although I opted to use the compound I had included with my order.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality and performance.

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: What can I say the build quality is incredible
Fans mount on the CPU cooler very easy they also have very long cables.
Very very quiet even at 60% fan speed they cannot be heard.
Love the mounting system very solid and robust. Not flimsy metal like other brands.
Includes alot of thermal paste and of very good quality.

Cons: No cons here :D but have to say based on other reviews phanteks have changed the AMD mounting direction alot reviews show south to north position for AMD only wrong!!!! They have new revision and now mount east to west like other 120mm coolers do.

Other Thoughts: Get it you won't,be disappointed.

Currently have it mounted on a Asus A88xm-plus which is M-ATX board paired with a A10 6800K with team Zeus 2133mhz memory 2x4GB and boy do they work good.
My A10 6800K is currently at 4.7Ghz stable without any voltage tweaking at all. NB is set at 2100mhz and my IGPU is at 1033mhz all without voltage adjustment. And after 8 hour stess, test of both CPU and IGPU at the same time temps never went up more than 57C also CPU fans were under 60% speed so it can still push more heat out. Idle at 30% fan speed is at 31-35C. stock cooling on idle was around 34-40C on stock cooling I used to get 65C while gaming on stock clocks

Case is a Cougar Solution tower with 6 fans on it 5 intake and 1 exit (positive airflow ahoy). With a thermaltake 550watt smart series PSU and a NZXT mesh fan controller and case fans are Cougar ones orange blades (sold in a 4 pack here in newegg) and with system how its setup it is whisper quiet you can't hear it turned on :D
