The NH-L12 is a low-profile quiet cooler designed for use in small form factor cases and HTPC environments. With its flexible NF-F12 (120mm) / NF-B9 (92mm) dual PWM fan setup, the NH-L12 can be configured either for full performance in dual fan mode or extra-low profile (66mm) with the top fan removed. Bundled with the award-winning NT-H1 thermal compound and Noctua’s SecuFirm2 multi-socket mounting system, the NH-L12 packs everything a premium quality quiet cooler needs into a highly compact package.

  • newegg 120/92mm dual fan design Thanks to its exquisite dual fan setup consisting of Noctua’s highly optimised NF-F12 (120mm) and NF-B9 (92mm) premium fans, the NH-L12 pushes the bar in terms of low-profile quiet cooling performance.
  • newegg Extra-low profile in 92mm single-fan mode The NH-L12 can be used with the NF-B9 92mm fan only in order to reduce the overall height to 66mm. This way, the cooler is suitable for many typical ATX or Mini-ITX enclosures and ideal for whisper-quiet HTPC systems.
  • newegg PWM support and Low-Noise Adaptors The NH-L12’s NF-F12 and NF-B9 fans support PWM for convenient automatic speed control. In addition, the maximum fan speed can be reduced to 1200/1300rpm using the supplied Low-Noise Adaptors for even quieter operation.
  • newegg SecuFirm2 mounting system Noctua’s enthusiast grade SecuFirm2 multi-socket mounting provides broad socket compatibility (LGA 2011, LGA1366, LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA775, AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1) and meets the highest demands in safety, performance and ease-of-use.
  • newegg Mini-ITX mounting without backplate Some Intel based Mini-ITX mainboards don’t allow for the installation of backplates. The NH-L12 thus comes with an extra set of Intel mounting bolts which make it possible to install the cooler without using the SecuFirm2 backplate.
  • newegg NT-H1 thermal compound Noctua's much-acclaimed NT-H1 is a well proven pro-grade TIM solution that provides minimum thermal resistance, excellent ease-of-use and outstanding reliability.

4 out of 5 eggsCools well and fits my case.

Pros: Was looking for something that would cool my new i7-6700k skylake and fit in my nmedia 6000b case with low noise as I have this in my livingroom audio rack. Fits well, paired with the gigabyte G1 mobo as part of a combo deal this thing just barely has clearance to not block any ram slots. Can't really do much overclocking with it, but keeps the stock settings for my skylake around 30 degrees Celcius under normal load conditions, up to about 51 under heavy load.
Nice an quiet too!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This was my first noctua purchase. I am very happy with the quality, quietness and the compactness of this unit.

5 out of 5 eggsPefect for tight spaces

Pros: I used this in a 17 year old In-Win A500 mid-tower computer case with the top fan removed. It fit nicely and is very quiet on an AMD triple core Athlon CPU.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsNoctua is always amazing

Pros: Keeps rig nice and cool. I had one previously on a different set up and it performs very well. Kept it mostly under 47C even on high loads. Very happy with the company.

Cons: Colors. Could use some customability to match colors of setups. =/

5 out of 5 eggsFan-tastic, as expected

Pros: Versatile, compact, quiet, high performing, multiple configurations, easy to install, high quality, lots of extra accessories, including a screwdriver. Downward fan helps to cool vrm's. Very very high quality fans.

Cons: It might block a ram slot, depending on your motherboard and overall configuration. Price is a bit high unless on sale.

Other Thoughts: This is a case of "you get what you pay for." It costs a lot, but it is basically the best product on the market in this specific category.

2 out of 5 eggsParts are Cheap

Pros: Fit my mini-ITX ASRock mobo perfect

Cons: Broke two fins of the large fan on top. Heat piping is cheap and easily bendable. All parts seem cheap & flimsy. Had to purchase new top fan at a local computer store. Went with something sturdier

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet and Cool. What more do you need?

Pros: Very quiet and keeps my CPU cool. This thing get a lot of weird looks seeing how its flat on the CPU instead of being on its side like most aftermarket coolers, but its a beast. I bought it for a mid-tower case and it fits great, works great. Would buy for another system in a heartbeat.

Cons: Had some RAM clearance issues for a bit, but I'll chalk that up to my MOBO layout.

Other Thoughts: I know its Noctua's thing to have the brown scheme, but I dig it. More of a statement than a clash of colors.

5 out of 5 eggsTop notch

Pros: Very high quality parts and slick packaging. Super quiet.

Cons: None. Minor comment; you are paying a lot for the box.

Other Thoughts: Installed after replacing lesser quality coolers for my 17 Photoshop machine. You get what you pay for in this department and Noctua delivers a solid product.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: This thing is perfect. It isn't too large but is still a major improvement over the stock cooler. It's a Noctua, high quality, performance, and easy installation is what this thing is about. It is easier than the stock intel cooler to install. Did I mention quiet? It is. Don't wait any longer. If you are thinking about this over another cheaper average cooler as an alternative to the stock cooler, buy this.

Cons: None. If you do your homework, make sure this fits in your case / on your mobo. Had only one option to install this without blocking my mini ATX boards PCIE slot and the other was hitting my ram.

Other Thoughts: This is the first Noctua product I have purchased and I'm never recommending another over it (Unless someone literally can't afford it). Worth the money.
