One’s desktop is an investment, worthy of exceptional protection from the searing heat of intense use. The well-equipped Arctic Pro Freezer 64 Pro is an efficient, Swiss-engineered heatsink & fan combo that’s literally a breeze to install. The brushed black finish of the fan and durable 6-pipe copper heat sink keep their cool while transferring up to 200 watts of heat safely away from heat-sensitive parts. The powerful Freezer 64 Pro adds edginess to your system with its aggressively engineered look.

Compatible with Socket 754, 939, 940 and the latest AM2 platforms, the Freezer 64 Pro will work flawlessly with most late-model AMD CPUs, including all AMD Sempron, Opteron, and Athlon 64, 64 X2, and 64 FX desktops. A PWM chip keeps the 92mm fan running efficiently, with a volume of only 0.8 sone at 2200 RPM, which is tremendously quieter and more effective than the stock cooling fan. Don’t wait until your PC has crashed for good. Protect your investment today without compromising your passion for intense high-tech mayhem, with the award-winning Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro.

5 out of 5 eggsworking great so far

Pros: quiet (not as quiet as some other reviewers are saying though, unfortunately), does a great job cooling my phenom 2 x4 945.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: this is my second arctic cooling HSF. the first was the freezer 7 pro (basically the same thing as this just with an intel only mounting bracket) which still runs great in a different computer now. for $30 you can't go wrong.

3 out of 5 eggsNot the best choice for an AMD AM2 / 3 Mobo

Pros: Good quality heatsink and fair price for heatsink/fan. See "Cons" however.

Cons: This may not be the best choice for an AMD AM2 or 3 Mobo? The fan is quiet but has low flow volume and pressure making it difficult to cool the heatsink well.

The heatsink/fan assembly must be installed backwards to clear memory with heatsinks such as Corsair Dominator and such. This is a BIG problem because the fan must then push the air towards the front of the case when all of the other fans are trying to blow the hot air out the BACK of a typical ATX style case.

***** CAUTION: This can result in instant overheating of the CPU as the CPU fan is unable to blow enough air thru the cooler.

The mounting bracket is crude at best and far from what I would expct from Artic Cooling. They get a score of ten on the cooler, 5 on the fan and two on the mounting bracket.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this cooler for AM 2 / 3 applications.

While quieter than the AMD 965 BE Box fan, it only lowers temps 2-3 degrees C under full load use.

1 out of 5 eggsNot impressed

Pros: It looks like it would do a great job.

Cons: I am not getting any better temps with this than I did with the stock cooler. It was such a pain to install that the thermal grease I used (arctic silver 5) probably got everywhere except where it matters. I am returning this and have purchased a Corsair H70 to replace it.

Other Thoughts: This thing was cheap but I am really not impressed with the cooling. Right now, at stock speed for my 1090T (3.2Ghz), I'm at 50C. My H70 can't come fast enough.

4 out of 5 eggsFan life

Pros: Nice heatsink and heatpipe design. Not any more difficult to install on AMD systems than most tower sinks of this type. Copper.

Cons: I've had two of these where the fan has failed (one seized up totally, the other would not go past 600rpm) within a year. Getting a replacement fan for the heatsink can be a problem (which Arctic sold fans by themselves to match these heat sinks).

Other Thoughts: As a lower cost repair, I orderd the Arctic Alpine 64 Pro -- which appears to use the same fan/fan assembly -- and pulled the fan from it -- installed it as a replacement fan -- seems to work ok. The Alpine Pro is a non-tower, aluminum heatsink which costs about $15, cheaper than a full replacement cost for the Freezer Pro. Still I'd love to see these fans available as replacement fans (at less than $10).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler.

Pros: Very good at managing the temps on my Phenom 9850 Black Edition OC'ed to 2.9GHz.

Looks really good too.

Cons: Took my a while to actually connect it to my mobo.
You really have to push and bend pretty far.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Heatsink

Pros: Seems to run nice and quiet, makes my AMD Phenom II x4 945 run at about 25-30degrees C idle, and highest i have seen it get when playing a game is 45 degrees C which isnt bad.

Cons: was kind of a pain to install but i think thats because i was installing it on an old computer so my power supply was kind of in way so i couldnt see wat i was doing very well.

Other Thoughts: Fan kind of studdered at first when turned on computer was worried CPU would overheat but then fan kicked on and seems to be running smoothly now.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Use it to cool AMD Phenom 9850 AM2+. Works well but fan is noisy when running at 100%. Recommend using Speedfan to automatically control fan RPM of both CPU fan and system fan.

Cons: A bit difficult to install.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat's ceramic?

Pros: Quiet. When my 60 CFM 92 mm exhaust fan is unplugged, I can hear the PSU exhaust fan (135 mm) and my hard drives spinning, yes spinning, not just accessing. With open side or closed up with exhaust fan going, keeps idle temps @ about 7C above ambient with AS3 applied at a mild 10% OC.

Cons: Can require nervous amount of force to lock lever.
Heatpipe tech is improperly implemented?
(Other random comment about breakfast/laundry/luvlife here)

Other Thoughts: Depending on mounting bracket: only grabs 1 tooth on my GB MA785GM-US2H, but thats not a flaw of the cooler, it grabs all 3 on my Asus.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cools my A64 x2 4200 effectively.

Cons: This thing is massive and was a pain to install on a Socket 939. None besides that.

Other Thoughts: The fan hooks on by a clip making it very easy to remove. It became so much easier to install (without removing the MB) after that and it just clipped back on.
