5 out of 5 eggsH100i Round 2

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: • Quiet. Looks good.
• Keeps both PCs I've tested it on cool.
• Integrated control of 4 PWM fans.

Cons: • The fan adapter/cables are a little bit short. Makes them more of a pain to run and hide.
• CPU block is fairly wide on 1 axis. Makes the product incompatible with some (older gigabyte) motherboards in 2 of the 4 different directions that you could mount it. Probably won't prevent anyone from using it but it can result in limited installation options depending on your case. Complaints online about this are obscure enough that it probably won't be noticed prior to purchase.
• You could punch screws through the radiator if you aren't careful. The fan mounting screws are a little oddball. Wasn't a deal breaker from me but I can see how someone not paying attention could mess things up.

Other Thoughts: This is a new review / repost. In my original review I had complained that it was incompatible with my gigabyte motherboard. I took another look at the product and realized that with some fiddling it could be made to fit. Had to mount the cpu block with the tubes pointing out toward my ram instead of towards the ostensible 'top' of the mother board given it's position in the case.

1 out of 5 eggsnot Long life watercooling

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: This is a good water cooling system ( when it's working properly) , The first mont I was able to have 27 celsius idle with my non-overclocked i5-750 . I was able to overclock it to 4.2 Ghz and the cpu was cold ( 40-50 celsius in game )

Cons: For 2 weeks now , the H100i Have really bad temps .. 60 Celsius at Idle ... And its too late to RMA , I try to changed thermal paste , I tried MX-2 then artic Silver 5 and both had terrible temp ... And I know properly how to apply thermal paste . Well im very disapointed about Corsair , Cause I trust This company and I buy most of my stuff from them .

Other Thoughts: Easy installation , Effiency when its working and installed properly

4 out of 5 eggsGreat option for water newbies

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: -Easy to install, although I did watch videos before and during
-Nice customization options
-Obliterates stock cooler for 4770k
-Doesn't prevent use or get in the way of high-performance RAM

Cons: -Install manual kinda sucks; even said to install it on TOP as PUSH (huh??)
-Corsair Link software isn't bad, but definitely needs some work.
-Fans speed control in Corsair Link doesn't seem to work for me
-Fans are LOUD at max RPM

Other Thoughts: I wanted a great cooling solution without adding size and weight to my mobo (like the Noctua NH-D14).

You will need to install different fans if you want a silent rig. In the meantime I've plugged fans into mobo headers for AI Suite 3.

Temps haven't reached over 65C, even when under load (My cpu is currently compensating for weak GPU).

You won't regret buying this, especially if, like me, you're looking to replace your stock cooler.

Build:
4770K 3.5 GHz (OC'd to 4.2) CPU
RoG Maximus VI FOrmula Mobo
GSkill Trident X 16gb 2400MHz RAM
Zotac GTS 250 GPU
Corsair AX860 PSU
CM Storm Trooper Case

5 out of 5 eggsGreat company good products

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: This works just as good if not better than the older H110 BUT does not require as much space. Good for those cramped mid tower cases like Cosmos SE

Push Pull config with Corsair SP 120s works great (ditch the stock fans they are louder and cheaper quality)

Corsair Link works well for me (using default settings for all)

Keep my Intel I7 4770K under 35cs on idel and under 60c under full load/Bf4

LED light is nice but no so bright it annoys you when you sleep

Cons: Screws dent the radiator when you screw them all the way in...I checked some forums and RAM Guy from Corsair forums commented this was ok But still a bad design...made me so nervous I took off to a hardware store to try and find shorter screw that would fit without hurting the rad (no luck the ones I found were either too short or two long

since it does not damage the rad i did not deduct a star but Corsair should reevaluate the screws

Other Thoughts: I use the following corsair products
6 Corsair SP 120 High performance
1 Corsair AF120 High Performance
32 GB Corsair Vengeance Pro Ram
Corsair Vengeance Airflow Ram fan
H100I

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Extreme Well

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: The cooler is well build with solid design put into it. My I5 3570K using the Zelman air cooler can only OC to 4.2Ghz. when pair with the Asus TurboV EVO. Now with Crosair H100, I am able to hit 4.7Ghz. That is amazing. The result speaking for itself. The installation does take some time, but it is not hard. Some steps might feel kind strange at first, but once everything is installed all of the step just seems to be logical.

Cons: During the installation, when the CPU support plate are mounted, it is pretty loose, which create some doubt as how well the whole cooler would work. But once the cooling block were installed, everything went well. I wish the manual indicated that.

3 out of 5 eggsRMA

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: None Yet!! Waiting on RMA

Cons: Unfortunately, when I open the unit I noticed liquid build up on one corner of the cpu block. After reviewing a unboxing on Y**tube, it confirmed mine unit was defective :( Hope I can give a 5 star after i get the replacement unit.

5 out of 5 eggsCool Beans!

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Cool - Quiet - Easy...REALLY Easy!
First experience with liquid cooler. I have been intrigued for several years but did not want to have to 'custom fab' a rig with high disaster potential. Corsair has it figured out 'to a T'. This went into a new-build slick as could be...although I wish the fans were low-profile.Everything else was very straight forward.

Cons: Wiring the fans was a little challenging until I figured out that there were plastic PROTECTORS on the fan wiring harness pins that have to be REMOVED. That only took me 20 minutes to figure out...HEY CORSAIR, how about documenting that little tidbit? Or putting different colored plastic on them???

Other Thoughts: Build is in a Corsair 'Carbide 200' case, which is set up for the 'modular' 240 mm radiator, so it was almost blindfold easy..."so easy a....can do it".

5 out of 5 eggsGreat keeps things cool.

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: The entire thing is working great since I put the system in place. The H100i has been working on my 4770k overclocked to 4.4 with a ambient temperature of 24-27 (75-80 degrees Fahrenheit) the CPU at 100% work load it stays around 46-54 ( 115-133 degrees Fahrenheit).

Cons: The only issue is when you just start your system you will need to updates the H100i's firmware to get rid of the pumps weird noise, and keeping the fans from powering down and back on.

Other Thoughts: I don't know how long this closed look water system will work, but so far it has worked like a dream.

1 out of 5 eggsNothing but trouble. Long RMA response.

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Looks great. Really great.
When working, it keeps the temps low and allows some great OC potential on my FX8350.

Cons: Fan controller cables ripped out super easily on one of them. Hardly gave it a test tug.
The fans are HORRID. So loud... so so loud, turning them down to acceptable noise levels will only prevent a decent OC.
They both make a slight grinding sound that is hard to ignore.

The pump grinds at startup. This scares me. My CPU goes over 65C because the pump is grinding. Tapping it with my knuckle makes it stop and levels drop to normal.
The software is decent at best.

Other Thoughts: I have contacted Corsair. they replied, asked for proof of purchase. I added proof of purchase and I am awaiting a response.

Even though I love Corsair products and have owned many in the past without issue, I rate all products on my experience with them. This has been a lot more trouble than you would think.

I will update id Corsair comes through.

(Installed on C70 Vengeance Arctic White case)
