5 out of 5 eggsGood so far

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Works good
Looks like decent build quality

Cons: Instructions
Fans a little bit loud

Other Thoughts: I bought this from the store so I could take it back if it didn't fit. I had to remove the rear exhaust fan to make it fit, but I got her in.

Performance is great. I have this on an AMD FX8320 and my temps dropped pretty drastically. I haven't had a chance to overclock it as far as I want yet, but I will make another review when I do figure out what it's really capable of.

FX8320 @ 3.5ghz stock clock:
Idle: 25c
Load: 41c

@4ghz OC
Idle: 27c
Load: 43c

I'm going to shoot for 5ghz if I can get it stable. Sitting at 4.6ghz right now but I don't have time to test stability or temps.

Don't over-tighten the clips on the AMD bracket. I thought I bricked something as everything would turn on but it wouldn't post. I removed the CPU and reseated it, this time not going nearly as tight, and it worked fine. Also tighten each screw a little at a time as not to force too much pressure on one side of the CPU (I didn't do this and it caused the CPU to come unplugged halfway, which gave me no boot, no bios, no post)

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Upgrade

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: - Easy installation.
- Great airflow from the fans.
- Comes with parts for both Intel and AMD users.
- Already set up so all you need to do is install it. No need for filing it.
- Got mine while it was $25 off, so that was a plus.

Cons: Don't really have any cons so far, works like it's supposed to.

- One thing I would like to point out, even though it isn't very worthy of docking an egg over, is AMD users might find installation a little easier if they have a friend install it with them, as the piping is pretty solid and doesn't bend the easiest, so trying to put the clips on and keep the piping the way you would like might be a little challenging. I mounted mine slightly different then most so mine ended up being a little easier, however I could see some users still having some issues with it.

Other Thoughts: - On the pump the Corsair logo is illuminated with a white LED. wasn't an issue for me but some may not like it, or very much appreciate it.
- Other reviews mention it being slightly louder then they would have like. Personally the sound of fans doesn't bother me (currently running a 6-fan setup, if you include the 2 fans from this) but it still seems like the sound is hardly much more then an inaudible hum, that I honestly like as it's almost relaxing hearing it run so quietly. Unless you're some kind of die-hard builder that has to have it COMPLETELY silent, I can't see this giving you much issue.
- I think its worth mentioning that the clips that the fans plug into have a small "casing" that comes over the prongs, I'd assume to prevent bending of them. Freaked me out at first, so hopefully this spares you from a mini-heart attack like myself. The casing also pulls off with little to no resistance.

5 out of 5 eggsCoooooooool!

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: The cooler does as advertised! Cooled my i7-2600K perfectly! Bravo once again Corsair!

Cons: Fans are loud when on high load, I removed them and installed other ones anyways.

Other Thoughts: Software isn't so bad, the UI looks and feels a bit cheap but the information and the controls are valuable.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair H100i

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Easy Setup. No Fuss. Pre-Filled Sealed Unit. Everything you need is included. Wonderful Product. Would buy again. Idle on Haswell (Hotwell) is 35c and Prime95 is 85c running an i7 4790K at 4.4ghz

Cons: NO CONS....but.... Be aware I put this together on 2 builds.
---Build 1 was on a Thermaltake Mid Tower Case. I noticed the radiator screws were too long and would damage the radiator if I screw them in (I shimmed with washers to fix this) and someone said that the water pump is not tight enough on thin motherboards so I added a thin plastic washer to the underside of the back plate of the cpu cooler to give it about 1/16" more distance for more pressure.

Build 2 - Was on a Corsair Carbide White and Black Case. What a Dream!!!!! When you match the Corsair H100i with a Corsair Case that was designed for their products, guess what! The radiator screws are NOT too long and fit exactly as they should. I still shimmed the underside of the cpu back plate behind motherboard to ad a little more pressure... but i was amazed and dumbfounded that if I use a Corsair Water Cooling Solution on a Corsair Case the install would be so much easier! Amazing!

Other Thoughts: This is the best pre-filled sealed water cooling solution I have used to date. I would buy again. 2 running very quiet and seems perfect so far.

4 out of 5 eggsDitched my Noctua for Good

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: - Good Value
- Pump is very quiet, hardly heard in my setup
- Hardware in general seems like it'll hold up, no issues for me after using this for about 8 months so far.
- Compatibility
- No hardware failure issues.
- Helpful support staff and community in general

Cons: - SOFTWARE! (Depending on you mobo, setup, expectations, etc. the software is the Achilles heel imo for the H100i.)

- Stock fan Acoustics (Idle is fine, but load is too LOUD and just not acousticly pleasing in general. I tinkered around and ended up in a push pull config with pwr Cougars and have been very happy.)

Other Thoughts: -Great product and support staff. But like I mentioned and I'm not the only one, the Software leaves a lot to be desired although the latest RC release 3.1.5525 seems ironed out.

-Stock fans were disappointing acoustically (but I was expecting that.)

All in all, I like the flexibility in setup arrangements water cooling allows and the ease of a AIO (or almost AIO) is convenient.

Just do the appropriate research for your setup and expectations and all should be good.

4 out of 5 eggsToo much hype?

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Good cooling performance, saw about a 20c drop in CPU temps during stress tests (same voltage/overclock).

Good fan speed/noise for cooling, lot of airflow from fans.

Good design, sleek pump/cold plate design, simple but very nice to look at.

Cons: That pump, and that software.

You need the corsair link software to get firmware updates for the pump, yet (this may only be my luck) this 'amazing' piece of software is trash. It doesn't even detect the h100 as even existing. It control the pump speed and the fan speed during stress tests and rising temperatures, how little increase there was, but nothing more.

I won't stay on the software for long, since this is a product review.

The pump though, while I expected some noise, makes this obnoxious 'wobbling fan' noise. It's not too loud, maybe around 20 dba, but makes a lot more noise than my 212 evo I was using before. I use speakers instead of a headset, so I hear fans and just noise constantly, and this thing only increased it. I have already checked for firmware updates to see if it just needs to be updated, but everything is up to date.

Again it's not that loud, but it's louder than all of my case fans running at 50%, and there's quite a few of them.

Other Thoughts: Overall the product works, but I expected more from Corsair, given the 1500+ reviews and the thousands of sales they've made with their hydro series coolers.

The software you need to run this sucks, and the noise from the pump (which could be controlled if the software worked) is annoying.

Again the noise is not unbearable, it's not grinding or clicking or anything, it's just running. But come on, if other people in my house can hear this thing running at idle in the other room and find it a bit annoying, there's a problem.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler for my Mini-ITX icebox!

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Decided to step my cooling game up on my Mini-ITX build and go with this liquid cooler. The pump unit installs easily, radiator and fans mounted without a hitch, and the unit does a great job of keeping my CPU temps nice and low. Running a 100% load test, my i7-4790 peaked at 45C and hasn't budged from the 41-45 range. This is also accomplished with the included fans running at about 1000rpm. The whole system is very quiet and does exactly what it's supposed to do.

Cons: A few people mentioned the included fan Y-cables seemingly having the wrong connectors. The pins have a guard over them that slips off so you can plug your fans into the 4-pin connector. Took me a second to realize myself. Other than that, I suggest downloading the newest version of Corsair Link from the website. No real egg-subtracting cons to speak of.

Other Thoughts: This cooler works so well keeping my CPU at 45C or less under full load and relatively quietly, since the fans are only running at ~50%. I believe that I can knock the fans down to 33% and still keep the CPU under 50C, which is much better performace than I ever expected! Fits snugly into my Corsair Obsidian 250D case, and the hoses are a bit stiff and unforgiving, but once it's all bolted down, who cares?!
