Cooler Master's RR-920-N520-GP "Hyper N520" combines a stylish, elegant design with silent operation and a brilliant cooling solution. Designed to cool the full range of current Intel Socket LGA 1366, 775 and AMD Socket (AM3/AM2+/AM2) processors, it does so with gusto. It features a unique split fin design that puts more surface area within the space cooled by over 43 CFM of airflow from the dual 92mm fans.

A selection of mounting components allow the user to obtain the optimal installation of the cooler to the motherboard so that the cooler's copper base is snug against the CPU's heat spreader. Five 6mm U-shaped copper heat pipes draw heat away from the processor up to the array of aluminum convection fins which they support. The heat is dispersed at a silent 19 dBA by the fan which spins on long-lasting sleeved bearings.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The copper base and 4 copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density aluminum fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus dual 92mm, 1800RPM sleeve bearing fan to deliver optimal cooling performance.

Cooler Master’s Hyper TX series has evolved with requirements of mainstream CPUs. The introduction of Hyper TX3 marks another milestone with Cooler Master's first-ever full compatibility - Intel LGA 1156 socket. The Hyper TX3 also brings back the "original" direct contact heat-pipe design from Cooler Master.

4 out of 5 eggskeeps it cool, fan can be loud when it wants to be.

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: better than stock cooler. Does the Job well even while room temps climb.

Cons: Stock fan made "loud noises" when i first had it mounted... i moved it from the bottom of the heat sink to the top making it pull. The noise went away sometimes when i start my PC it happens for a second or two and then goes away. Doesn't make me feel good about this fans longevity potential...

Other Thoughts: keeps my FX 8350 (stock speed) under 50C while room temps are under 25C. Added a second fan in the bottom position to push temps stay under 48C normally... When room temps rise above 25C she tends to get closer to the 55C range... I have 6 140mm case fans so airflow, not much of an issue. Lost 1 egg for F.W.A. Fans With Attitude.

For the price i dont think you can beat it... i think a second fan is not needed. Although wouldnt hurt. So if cooler master made a version with two fans included it would be a nice failsafe i wouldnt have minded paying a few extra bucks for.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Great Cooler, nice and quiet

Cons: Slight pain to install, but not that bad

Other Thoughts: If you order this with free shipping, don't expect it for a near eternity. Newegg sent it out via FedEx from LA, took 5 days to Dallas, where they gave it to USPS, who then took 3 more days to bring it back to NM. I guess the question is why they didn't just sent it USPS to begin with, I would have gotten it in half the time...

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: The side fans are MOVABLE. this was the greatest pro, as this fan can run into RAM easily
Cold as ice. Almost anyway.

Cons: A little big, as the other reviews suggested
Two of the screws weren't died correctly. A little cold tooling was needed to fix the threads and was OK.

Other Thoughts: As most of the reviews state, this thing is huge. I have a Rosewill Challenger case, and I have about 1.5cm clearance between the top of the cooling pipes and my case. Make sure you have a mid-ATX or larger case. One thing that happened to me though, was the screws weren't fully threaded. I had to run the screw and nut without trying to attach it to the mobo first to work the threads a little. Other than that, it really is great. My temps are running low on a slight OC, and with my build it just looks really cool. One great thing was when I installed it, the fan was running into the RAM, but I was able to slide the fan up a hair to go over the RAM. Only downside to that is, the fan sicks out about 1cm over the last fin, but still at the same level as the heat pipes. So if you can stand it not being flush, then you are fine. Suppress your OCD. I did, and it was worth it,.

Pros: +Cools the i7 4790k @ stock just fine.
+Low price for what you get.

Cons: -Rather big, so make sure you have clearance.
-Terrible included instructions, just go find a youtube tutorial if it is your first time.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fan

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Cooling effectiveness, cost

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is the second time I have purchased this fan in about 3+ years. First time was an AMD build, this time Intel. Placed on a i7-4790K on top of an Asus Z97-A MB. No issues whatsoever on either one. Quiet effective. It is large, so it might not fit in a smaller case.

5 out of 5 eggsFreaking amazing CPU Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: -Runs fairly quite considering how big the fan is on it
-Keeps CPU around 15C - 25C for about anything I do
-Works great, haven't had any issues with it

Cons: -HUGE, that's about all I can say. I had to take out a side Case fan for it to fit and I have a Full Tower

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: It was recommended to me by a friend who knows a lot about pc's. He has told 3 other people to order this and mine had the fan break. It was easily replaced with another 120 mm stock fan but i was still dissapointed. It broke after 3 months i believe.

Cons: dd

5 out of 5 eggsBest in class

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: The stock cooler from Intel always made a whining sound during start-up and intensive usage. I finally got fed up and replaced it with the Cooler Master. This PC stays quite ever since.

Cons: None. Except the price can always be lower than other comparable products by $30 instead of $20.

Other Thoughts: I have the same model in two other computers from the get-go long before I built this PC, but this was the first time I had a before and after comparison. Well, there's no comparison. I'll never use a stock cooler again.

4 out of 5 eggsHUGE HSF, tricky to work with, but Worthwhile Results

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: CPU gets direct contact to copper pipes; the aluminum fins allow efficient radiation of heat, and the huge 120mm fan (which is very easy to adjust, remove and replace) allows for great air flow.

Cons: I can't know if this is due to a lack of experience in installing after-market HSFs (first after-market non-stock HSF I've ever messed with), but I had all sorts of fun and trouble mounting it.

Note that this should be one of the first things you install on your motherboard, and that you should install it BEFORE mounting it in your case.

I wasn't aware that the mounting plate under the case had to be in place in order for the mounting screws to be installed properly. Had to unmount the entire board to fix that.

The nuts that mount to the screws underneath the motherboard can't hold the stand-offs tight enough. I tried to remedy that with elbow grease, and I damaged my board slightly... Thankfully, the board still seems to work. Be. Careful.

the HSF, even after screwing in the X bracket moves back and forth ever so slightly. I can't tighten it anymore, otherwise I risk damaging the board, and there's nothing to really stop it from sliding left/right. I would have wished for a better way to secure the HSF in place, maybe a better locking mechanism with the X bracket?

Took away an egg for this. Was worried my board was ruined the entire time I was doing the build.

Other Thoughts: Worth the effort. Extremely effective airflow at an affordable price.
