Cooler Master's RR-920-N520-GP "Hyper N520" combines a stylish, elegant design with silent operation and a brilliant cooling solution. Designed to cool the full range of current Intel Socket LGA 1366, 775 and AMD Socket (AM3/AM2+/AM2) processors, it does so with gusto. It features a unique split fin design that puts more surface area within the space cooled by over 43 CFM of airflow from the dual 92mm fans.

A selection of mounting components allow the user to obtain the optimal installation of the cooler to the motherboard so that the cooler's copper base is snug against the CPU's heat spreader. Five 6mm U-shaped copper heat pipes draw heat away from the processor up to the array of aluminum convection fins which they support. The heat is dispersed at a silent 19 dBA by the fan which spins on long-lasting sleeved bearings.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The copper base and 4 copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density aluminum fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus dual 92mm, 1800RPM sleeve bearing fan to deliver optimal cooling performance.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master RR-920-N520-GP features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as the Intel LGA 775 and 1366 platform.

Cooler Master’s Hyper TX series has evolved with requirements of mainstream CPUs. The introduction of Hyper TX3 marks another milestone with Cooler Master's first-ever full compatibility - Intel LGA 1156 socket. The Hyper TX3 also brings back the "original" direct contact heat-pipe design from Cooler Master.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features "heatpipe direct contact" technology for efficient heat conduction, plus high-density aluminum fins for maximum heat dissipation. The 92mm fan runs efficiently to deliver unparalleled cooling performance.
  • newegg Expandable for a Second Fan Add a 2nd cooling fan (optional) to the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 to achieve the best possible cooling performance!
  • newegg PWM Function The PWM function automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as Intel LGA 775 and 1156 platforms.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler

Unmatched performance for the value, these are the tenants that guided Cooler Master engineers when designing the Hyper 212 EVO. Patented Continuous Direct Contact (CDC) technology ensures that the heat pipes are free of barriers while drawing heat away from the processor. A PWM fan ensures that fan speed can be intelligently controlled to ensure that it only speeds up when more cooling is necessary.

1 out of 5 eggsMissing Pieces, Totally Unusable

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Looks like it would work well.

Cons: Arrived missing multiple mounting pieces, including 3 of the 4 standoffs, the nuts, the nut setter, screws, and rubber pads.

Other Thoughts: Would really have liked to use this on my first build. Considering buying the parts set from the Cooler Master website, but I don't feel like waiting another week and spending another 8 bucks on this thing.

4 out of 5 eggsWell you get what you pay for

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Well like the title says you get what you pay for. Its cheap, it works pretty well. CPU temp went from 57C idle to 37C idle after installation.

Cons: The radiator isnt held to the motherboard well enough to keep from wiggling. Which is annoying. A simple cleaning off dust with CO2 can cause the radiator to wiggle.

The radiator itself is quite delicate. The vanes that come off the cooling piping bend unbelievably easy. Take great care when installing/removing fans.

Also you need to buy a second fan. Running it with only one fan is ok but it doesnt really work well until that second fan starts kicking air through.

Other Thoughts: Absolutely necessary to buy a second 120mm fan for this. Also its so tall theres not much chance of it fitting in a mid size case without either cutting the case or just being lucky enough to have a large width mid case.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Eazy to install didn't even read the manual exept once. keeps my i5-3570k not overclocked at 40C idle ambient temp 26C ambinet room temp. It never gets above 61C on prime95. Lots of headroom if you keep your home A/C low! Above all it is more quiet than my h60.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Great if you are not overclocking or just maybe a little.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good for the price

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Very quiet, even at high fan speeds, very good cooling (for an air cooler), fit in my case no problem.

Cons: A bit of a pain to install, took me around 45 minutes.

Other Thoughts: My i7 4770k went from 35 idle and 90 full load to 27 idle and 60 full load. Very happy.

5 out of 5 eggsCM Hyper 212 Evo

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Quiet, keeps the CPU cool.

Cons: So far none.

Other Thoughts: Took me a try or two to get the thermal paste right as this was my first AMD install and I was not prepared for the slippage when I placed the heatsink on the spreader before I tightened it down. This thing is quiet though and is giving me great temps with plenty of headroom to overclock later down the road.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat cooling for cheap, but may fit loosely on some CPUs/mobos

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: - Excellent cooling for the price. I paid $30 to replace the stock Intel HSF on my 4670K, and it brought my idle temps down from 45°C to < 40°C, and load temps down from 100°C to < 60°C (this is with an ambient temp of about 24°C)

- Easy to install and comes with all the hardware and some OK thermal paste

- Backplate has insulating tape

PLEASE READ CONS!

Cons: Might fit loosely (or tightly) on some motherboard/CPU combos, your mileage will vary depending on how your CPU/mobo fits together. THIS IS NOT A DEFECT! The amount of wiggling greatly depends on the physical dimensions of your mobo/CPU.

This is due to the design of the retention bracket. The heatsink block is held in place by a single pin in the middle, which obviously does not resist twisting motion. The block also sits on top of thermal paste which is obviously low friction and won't resist movement.

I'm using an AsRock Z97 Pro4 with a Haswell 4670K, and after tightening all the screws to the standoffs, the heatsink block will still twist and wiggle when enough force is applied... for my setup, it is about 3 lbs. of force.

This is actually fine and will not affect performance, as long as you leave the heatsink block alone after tightening all the screws. If it is too loose you will know it... try a different heatsink with a different retaining device (maybe one with corner pins).

Other Thoughts: INSTALLATION TIPS:

- the screws on the retention bracket have 3 adjustments depending on your form factor. For LGA1150, move all the screws to the middle slot before attempting to install the HSF.

- the standoff screws take some twisting to get through the slots of the backplate.

- remember to face the insulation tape towards the motherboard according to the installation manual!

- you can install this HSF without removing the mobo if your case's mobo tray has a big enough cutout.

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than stock

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Does a better job than the stock cooler that came with my fx 8350. Running in push - pull setup.

Cons: Runs around 46 degree's Celsius under a heavy load. Thinking about another upgrade to water cooling...

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Well is not that easy but it is simple. I install it on a am3+ board. Idle 20C and on use 40C gaming goes to 50C.

Cons: You may noty know what u were doing if it was the first time as I.

Other Thoughts: When installing don't be afraid to apply pressure to get the screws on the holes. .-.
