Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler

Unmatched performance for the value, these are the tenants that guided Cooler Master engineers when designing the Hyper 212 EVO. Patented Continuous Direct Contact (CDC) technology ensures that the heat pipes are free of barriers while drawing heat away from the processor. A PWM fan ensures that fan speed can be intelligently controlled to ensure that it only speeds up when more cooling is necessary.

  • newegg Superior Thermal Performance Featuring a wide-range PWM fan with 4 Direct Contact heat pipes that penetrate aluminum fin array, the COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler provides outstanding thermal performance for your CPU while keeping the noise at a low level.
  • newegg Broad Compatibility The COOLER MASTE Hyper 212 EVO supports Intel LGA 1366/1155/1156/775 and AMD FM1/AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2 sockets with the included versatile mounting kit, offering excellent flexibility and protecting your investment.

Cooler Master's RR-920-N520-GP "Hyper N520" combines a stylish, elegant design with silent operation and a brilliant cooling solution. Designed to cool the full range of current Intel Socket LGA 1366, 775 and AMD Socket (AM3/AM2+/AM2) processors, it does so with gusto. It features a unique split fin design that puts more surface area within the space cooled by over 43 CFM of airflow from the dual 92mm fans.

A selection of mounting components allow the user to obtain the optimal installation of the cooler to the motherboard so that the cooler's copper base is snug against the CPU's heat spreader. Five 6mm U-shaped copper heat pipes draw heat away from the processor up to the array of aluminum convection fins which they support. The heat is dispersed at a silent 19 dBA by the fan which spins on long-lasting sleeved bearings.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The copper base and 4 copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density aluminum fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus dual 92mm, 1800RPM sleeve bearing fan to deliver optimal cooling performance.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master RR-920-N520-GP features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as the Intel LGA 775 and 1366 platform.

Equipped with four direct contact heatpipes and a 120mm wide-range PWM fan, the CoolerMaster Hyper T4 provides a great balance of performance and noise levels. This CPU cooler is also a great match for any system, thanks to the quick and easy snap-on fan bracket and a universal mounting system.

Cooler Master’s Hyper TX series has evolved with requirements of mainstream CPUs. The introduction of Hyper TX3 marks another milestone with Cooler Master's first-ever full compatibility - Intel LGA 1156 socket. The Hyper TX3 also brings back the "original" direct contact heat-pipe design from Cooler Master.

4 out of 5 eggsWrong dimensions

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Great cooler. Definitely does what it's supposed to do.

Cons: The dimensions are misleading. Specs say 117mm in height but it measures 160 to the top of the copper. Installed in a Rosewill Blackhawk and had to leave off the case fan. Little disappointed because it really is a great cooler. Would have kept it but couldn't find a decent case fan thin enough.

5 out of 5 eggsOh, it works well

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: I originally bought this for my phenom x4 960T. And it cooled the thing very well.
Now I have it on my AMD 8350 FX 8 core cpu, and it still does a good job! looking at my bios, this CPU is still solid cool baby. Guess I'll have to find another way to cook an egg.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I originally purchased this product because I said to myself, "the stock fan is gonna suck because that's what reviews say." and "I sure as heck won't go near water cooling, I'll rinse my motherboard in another way!".

I'm glad I went with this unit.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat can be said that hasn't been already

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: - Great job lowering CPU temps, lowered my temps by about 15 degrees Celsius, my Phenom II x4 965 is OC'ed to 4ghz and will just touch 54 degrees Celsius on max, and idles around 33
- Quiet, fan is a little loud, but quiet compared to the jet engine that comes with the AMD CPU

Cons: - Installation was a big problematic with the CM 431 Elite Plus case as the backplate screw were partially blocked by the case so I had to use a wrench to tighten two of them

Other Thoughts: - Short of a water cooler this is the best cooler you can get without jumping in price in my opinion, I didn't see any other coolers that were close when I bought it

4 out of 5 eggsBought several - one came without screws

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: works great

Cons: I bought several of these to use on builds down the road that I had planned out already, but when I recently went to use one I was severely disappointed to find that it was missing mounting bracket AND screws (something all the others had). I guess it's too late to contact cooler master now, but at least I have a nifty paperweight. They're great coolers, but I'm a bit disappointed in the quality control as two of them (purchased on another site) had minor scuffs or bends.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes well

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: Cools well if you seat it properly. Easy to install, nothing unexpected.

Cons: It's *really* tall. So tall, in fact, that it will not fit inside a case designed for a micro ATX form factor. If you cut off the tops of the heat pipes, it would be touching the outer edge of the case. This is pretty much a warning telling you it ONLY fits in BIG cases.

It also blocks a memory slot and a case fan connection on my mobo, but that's really the fault of the mobo manufacturer.

5 out of 5 eggsNice and easy for a first time system builder

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: First time I had built a system I used this Cooler and it really is a very simple process. The directions are great and easy to follow. the performance of this cooler is great for the price. I got it for 20 bucks and I wouldn't have been unhappy if I had spent 50 on it.

Cons: Maybe isn't the best looking cooler on the market?

Other Thoughts: For the 35 bucks it costs retail on this thing your getting a fine product. It seems to go on sale quite often and when it does it becomes a great option for anybody but enthusiasts.

5 out of 5 eggssweet case

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: HUGE- This case will hold most any configuration with no problems.

Cons: Heavy, but its all good.

Other Thoughts: Purchasing a full tower is a wise investment, because it will be the only case you will ever need.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: This is likely the best bang for your buck. 120mm Cooling fan, with the option to add a second for a Push/Pull setup. Super quiet, and keeps the CPU nice and comfy.

Cons: No Cons, but be careful to make sure your case can handle it. This thing sits Tall in the case, so if you have a slimmer case, it may not be the CPU cooler for you.
