1 out of 5 eggsUseless

Pros: Nice unit... for a year

Cons: ADF constantly jams; and in ways you cannot anticipate. Billed as a home office printer; it is fair useless when you want to scan/copy/fax multiple pages. This printer just cost me hours doing something that should have taken five minutes. This printer will now be a target for shotguns .....

1 out of 5 eggsDid not last

Pros: Look like a great purchase

Cons: Sat in the box for 3 months, finally put it in service, worked two weeks and started falling asleep, stopped responding, had to power down, power back up, screen would not show any information, eventually stop powering up.

4 out of 5 eggsPart 2

Pros: It works, and has a lot of "bells and whistles", ( many of which I personally don't need). In my earlier review, I said this thing is well constructed. Tanks should be as solid as this thing. It is made of plastic, so it's not Military grade. It should stand up to a reasonable amount of use though.

Cons: None at this point.

Other Thoughts: Originally, I kind of sped through the setup process, though I believe in reading all documentation that companies offer. I did expect a little easier and straight forward installation, but that's just me, because of my previous experience with printers. After paying very close attention to the instructions. I found that I was leaving "doors" open that I shouldn't have, and prevented the machine from doing it's job. Once I made "friends with it". It functioned very well. There are features that I'm pretty sure I will never use, but you never know. I didn't give it five eggs, because of the fact that I haven't used all of the features, and I don't know how well the printer handles those things. I think anyone buying it, and taking their time setting it up will be happy.

3 out of 5 eggsMaybe I over bought???!

Pros: Solid construction, ( as noted by others, it's really heavy),
probably all of the features a home or small business office would need. More eggs possibly, if I can get it to print!

Cons: I have yet to be able to print out anything from my Win 7 computer or a thumb drive. I got it to print out the ink installation diagrams. Perfect!! "I'm business!!" Actually.. no! That was the last thing it printed. I haven't found the extensive printed and on line instructions of help. When it tries to print out something that is only one page, it just keeps spitting out blank paper, until it indicates that it is out of paper. HUH?? I only wanted one copy of a one page document. SIGH!!

Other Thoughts: I would not dissuade anyone from buying this printer, unless they are like me. I just wanted a printer like other printers I have purchased in the past. Unpack it, read the simple instructions, run the installation disk, and BOOM, you are printing, copying, etc.
That hasn't been my experience with this printer. Brother kind of acts like simply printing a document from your computer is of little importance, by comparison to Fax, Network, Wi-Fi etc. None of which I am primarily interested in at the moment. I'll look into those features at a later time. I just want the darn thing to simply print without me reading endless instructions, or trying to figure out what they are saying. Yeah.. I know.. color me stupid!

1 out of 5 eggsBeware the unscannable area

Pros: Overall is ok but because of one significant weakness, I would not recommend this printer.

Cons: This printer is advertised as "Professional" or "Business" series. In my opinion, the most serious flaw that I've found is the unscannable area (both flatbed and ADF). For example, the actually scanned area is just 10.76x8.26 instead of 11x8.5 for letter size. Just imagine your business documents with 5% missing area.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Printer

Pros: Easy to use. Never jams. Very reliable. Prints and scans double-sided 11x17.

Cons: Not the best print quality on plain paper. Somewhat slow when printing double sided.

Other Thoughts: We do not need stunning output for our quick proofs and markups, so we did not buy this expecting amazing print output.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat MFC for a Great Price

Pros: 11x17 Scanning & Printing, Network Scanning & Printing.

Cons: None So Far.

Other Thoughts: This is a great MFC!. I was having a lot of trouble trying to find a unit that scanned multiple 11 x 17 or even printed 11 x 17. This unit does both. I spend a lot of time researching things before I buy them, it certainly paid off this time. I use it with MAC and it works great. Definitely buy if you are in the Market for a good MFC that scans and prints 11 x 17.

5 out of 5 eggsI am very Impressed, goodbye HP

Pros: I can say that this printer has some great features when compared to what you pay. It is really a commercial grade printer and not ideal for home. This is one of the reasons the printer is so big and heave.

Cons: Weight

Other Thoughts: The only thing I can say is that I am sorry it took me this long to find this one. I hope it delivers in the future. By the way I am buying another one as we speak...

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful

Pros: Probably the most beautiful multifunction printer I've ever owned. Fast, efficient on ink especially with photo prints. Well worth the price tag and the scanner is wonderful for my girlfriends art projects. She loves it and I would definitely recommend this to others.

Cons: This thing is MASSIVE and HEAVY so lift with your legs if you're moving it.

Does NOT come with a USB cable which was seriously ridiculous considering the cost of this thing.

Nothing serious to take away any eggs.

Other Thoughts: I think the manufacturer or at least newegg should include a type B USB cable. It hindered my ability to test this thing out right away. The touch screen was not expected and pretty accurate to touch unlike most I've tested.

5 out of 5 eggsA Best Buy for the $$

Pros: Smooth operation. Scan quality is excellent. True full Duplex scanning, copying & printing. 11x17 print capability. Two large-capacity trays. Ink cartridges last a long time. Wireless works fine.

Cons: Not the best Photo Printer but I didn`t bought it for that.

Other Thoughts: Big foot print but save a lot of space with this MFC because I replaced 4 old machines (Fax, printer, scanner & copier).
