  • newegg SUPERIOR DATA PROTECTION WITH M-DISC SUPPORT The M-DISC uses a unique rock-like recording surface instead of organic dye to etch your data onto a disc. The M-DISC has been tested and proven to outlast standard DVDs currently on the market.
  • newegg PLAY IN PEACE As a disc is being read, Silent Play technology automatically controls the disc read speed for optimal noise reduction.
  • newegg NONSTOP PLAYABILITY Jamless Play automatically prevents stop video playback in case of damaged disc, such as scratches or fingerprints by jumping through the erroneous data or damaged areas.
  • newegg SATA Serial ATA is a 1.5Gbps evolutionary replacement for the Parallel ATA physical storage interface used to connect storage devices, such as hard disks, DVD and CD rewriters to the PC motherboard. Serial ATA is scalable, enables design of smaller PCs, and will allow future enhancements to the computing platform.

5 out of 5 eggsStill works after a year

Pros: Easily installed this to replace a dead dvd drive on an old Gateway GT5432. I haven't really used it much. But it still works after a year and a half. If all you need is a basic cd/dvd rom drive with burning capabilities this is it.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: As it says on the product description, it is barebones, literally no manual/ manufacturer packaging etc. Arrived wrapped in air bubbled plastic. Also, I had to purchase an extra SATA ata cable to install it so make sure you have a spare.

5 out of 5 eggsa solid inexpensive choice

Pros: i have had this drive for some time now...
a replacement for my beloved Pioneer 106....
i have had good results with it thus far...
with Imgburn, this drive buffer was jumping all over the place...but with Nero, it has been rock solid...
recommended

Cons: none...recommended

Other Thoughts: a good bargain

5 out of 5 eggsI never installed it.

Pros: Looks normal, lol

Cons: Looks okay, lol

Other Thoughts: I got it because I'm use to buying DVD players even though I don't use it. So its sitting in the shipping box still. I gave it 5 stars because I didnt want to make the eegs low.

5 out of 5 eggsAfter 6 Months

Pros: No problems whatsoever. Has a very solid feel.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: I remember paying $400 for a HP CD burner back in the late 90's and now $20 for a DVD burner. Times sure have changed. When using my finger to push the tray door closed the other burners I've owned responded with little pressure. Not the LG. It will, but it takes more pressure giving it a very well built and solid feel. Overall, the LG has a much more superior feel than any burner I've ever had.
