5 out of 5 eggsNice catch

Pros: 3D playback (obviously if you have 3D monitor or TV). Probably the best buy for the money.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: All the stuff people say about Windows 7 compatibility issues is not true at all. HOWEVER, Windows Media does not playback Blu-Ray movies. Therefore, you must purchase software to do this (expect to pay somewhere around $100.00 for blu-ray player/burner software).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat burner

Pros: It's nice when you buy a piece of computer equipment and it works right away. I've burned dozens of discs with this and has worked every time. With LG, life is good! No noise issues either.

Cons: None that I can think of.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the Price

Pros: So far has functioned very well at every task I have given it. Lightscribe works great and burn speeds are great and have no problem with data intergrity even at full recording speeds.
Its LG also an check other thoughts for more.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: This was on sale for a great price and have been using this for almost a year now and not a single issue or problem. I was impressed with all the features for the price and after researching other burners I could not find any undr $100 that had the same specs and features. LG is one of the best in the business when it comes to DVD, Blue-Ray, LED, LCD TV and this one lives up to what I expect from LG and just can't get over the price, IF IT IS AVAILABLE AND ON SALE, GET IT!!! USUALLY WILL RANGE AROUND $50 IF ON SALE.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat if you can get it on sale

Pros: Somewhat future proofing, haven't had a problem with what little I burn or install from CD/DVD.

Cons: Bought this right before the new 14x model came out, probably why I got it cheaper. It was still a little more expensive than a CD/DVD-R/W DL, but it's all that and a Blu-Ray reader/burner, so it's worth it if you can get it cheap enough. Of course, I've never used it to read or write BR, but I can if I want to I suppose, so that's something.

Other Thoughts: When the prices are lower, the little extra you spend vs. something with less capability is worth it. Even if you don't use the BR functions, it's nice to have the option. Seems to work fine with even cheap disks too, which my old DVDR drive didn't, but it's still slower than my high-speed flash drive. Which despite probably having more of a chance of degradation than burning to optical seems to be the way of the immediate future, along with online/cloud storage.

1 out of 5 eggsFAIL

Pros: NONE

Cons: This drive will ONLY burn Sony or Panasonic Media, which is hard to find anywhere except online.

LG Support is HORRIBLE. Basically they said that they couldn't help me because I didn't read the fine print in the manual before I purchased the product. I will NEVER buy an LG product again.
