1 out of 5 eggsCaused system to hang - Ick!

Pros: Attractive, good name-brand company, has a lot of features.

Cons: Caused my system to hard-hang and gave me power issues. Super bad! Maybe it was just the drive itself, but I read a few other one-star reviews with the same problem.

Other Thoughts: I've owned ASUS drives before and have never experienced this problem. I'm purchasing another brand to replace it, because I want my system to be stable. Can't risk another problem.

2 out of 5 eggsStick me once,,,,,

Pros: remarkable value engineering
works good for awhile

Cons: Fist one lasted 51 weeks
Second one lasted 51 weeks
a little loud when at full speed

Other Thoughts: Talk about great value engineering. This drive was used only rarely. The fist one made it to within a week of the warranty period. No problem getting a replacement from ASUS (had to pay for shipping though).
The replacement lasted the same amount of time almost to the day. The warranty is apparently the life of the product. They specs say it uses less energy. I think that's because when they die they don't use any energy at all. If you think $50 to $60 for a year of of use is OK then this is a good deal.
I have other ASUS products that are great but I won't be replacing this drive with an ASUS drive.

5 out of 5 eggsAsus blu ray

Pros: It does the job, I'm not sure why everyone says this drive it loud mine is quiet. I had a LG before this one and that thing sounded like it was giving birth every time I used it.

Cons: None really, won't play movies but I don't care about that anyways.

Other Thoughts: Its been a great drive so far, I'm glad I bought it.
