4 out of 5 eggsOverpriced for the issues

Pros: VESA Compliant
Beautiful Picture
Multi Input (VGA/HDMI/DVI)
Aesthetic bezel and Button location

Cons: Overpriced
Bezel is too thick for the price

Stuck and Dead Pixels

Other Thoughts: Ordered 4 of these monitors, one went to a friend, I kept the other three. 5 days in he's got a dead pixel, and 1 day in I have a stuck one. Unacceptable for monitors in this price range/feature category; this is the first time I have ever had a stuck pixel and it happened to be on on of the more expensive monitors I've ever bought.

It was such a headache getting my hands on these monitors through sales, rebates, etc. that after only having them installed for one day and finding a stuck pixel I'm too tired to even want to RMA or Warranty it (if I could with one stuck pixel).

I'd have to send one of the monitors back, while using the two others, on a temporarily lopsided monitor mount.

It seems our options are cheapie AOC/ACER monitors or 300+ BENQ/SAMSUNG/SONY monitors.. With ASUS sitting in between and with the reliability of past ASUS products I purchased this felt like a no-brainer.

Half the monitors I ordered have screen problems, and I feel trapped in these models because no one else makes something with this many features that's also reasonable in price.

Take a chance or pay more for something sure.. These monitors were a bittersweet purchase.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's really difficult to identify anything positive about a product, even a good product, when you feel like you've been conned by a company that produced it.

Cons: I should have heeded the reviews. Many other buyers of ASUS products have complained about ASUS not fulfilling their commitment to a refund. Now it would appear that ASUS feels that it needs my $20 more than I do. Even though I provided all the documentation as requested, and well before the deadline, ASUS has denied my rebate request. And, yes, I have copies of all submissions!.
So I had to ask myself, how best to spend the next 30 minutes... doing battle with ASUS ove $20 or composing this review.
My advice to you, if you really want an ASUS product, buy it... but don't spend your "refund" check before you get it.

4 out of 5 eggsASUS VS248H-P Black 24" 2ms HDMI LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 ASCR 50,000,000:1

Pros: Price, screen quality, look

Cons: Shiny plastic, base seems very cheep, no vertical adjustment, Questionable longevity with tilt

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a great monitor for the 120-160 price range. The only problem I have with it right now really is the meh base. It gets in the way of trying to bring the monitor closer and the super shiny plastic that is just a minor incontinence.

Another thing to not is that there is no vertical adjustment, it's all tilt. This personally doesn't bother me but it might others.

Overall I am really happy with this monitor for the price I payed. The refresh rate is nice, it looks great, and has a HDMI port which was something I was specifically was looking for.

I payed $120 for the monitor and I can't say I'm disappointed at all. It's great for that price and I really would have been fine paying upwards of 160 for what I received.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for 2 days

Pros: Worked for 2 days.

Cons: The third day I booted system up and the screen had a pink hue to it.

Other Thoughts: Sent back for refund. Will purchase something else.
The only reason I gave it 1 egg, It was not DOA.

4 out of 5 eggsGood monitor, but needs HDMI to shine

Pros: Bright screen, good quality built. No dead pixel. Very clear image with HDMI connection. Very good quality at a very good price when purchased on sale.

Cons: I first connected this monitor through the embedded motherboard DVI port but the screen appeared fuzzy. I tried to make adjustments using the on screen menu without results. Before I gave up, I tried to connect through the HDMI port embedded in the motherboard. Wowla, the monitor came alive. I don't know how this monitor will perform with add on graphic cards since I did not try. Hope this helps anyone with similar set up.

5 out of 5 eggsWow! Makes a big difference!

Pros: Very bright. Very crisp. VGA / DVI / HDMI. Nice price. Great support.

Cons: None yet.. I have only had it for a few hours.. :)

Other Thoughts: Replaced my 7+ year old 21" 16:9 Dell monitor that I had to turn on/off 6+ times to get to stay on. I am amazed at the brightness and clarity. In fact, I had to turn the default brightness down a bit to allow my eyes to adjust. I may have to buy another one to replace my even older 19" 4:3 monitor that I use as a 2nd screen, as the image just doesn't compare.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor

Pros: The color is much sharper than my other brand 23" which had a haze and couldn't be adjusted enough to be true. It was just Plug n Play and have not had to adjust the color , contrast or gamma even for my games. I like the size for watching movies and streaming video.

Cons: It was a little pricey. Find it on sale if you can.

5 out of 5 eggsNice monitor for the cost

Pros: - Bright responsive screen.
- Very vivid colors.
- Colors are what you expect them to be.
- HDMI, DVI, VGA... and an audio jack(?!?!?). Well, I guess some people still use those 3.5mm jacks. :-)
- Doesn't get hot or very-warm like other LCD monitors I've been around/used.

Cons: - Power button is sluggish to respond when pressed, be it turning on or off. Takes a solid press at a different/odd angle to make it respond. Both monitors (different manufacture dates) exhibit this behavior.

- Second monitor came-out-of-the-box with wonky display settings. A reset fixed that right up.

- "TraceFree" mode seems to be enabled by default, it's a bit annoying once you realize its active.

- DVI vs HDMI color output is a bit skewed (Never used the VGA ports).
HDMI plugged monitor is VERY bright, DVI plugged monitor is more neutral/true-to-the whites. Even after messing around with settings on the nvidia settings control panel and monitor color profile settings to get them to an equal white color (and seeing white squares for the rest of the day). It would appear that the build/make of this monitor has changed a bit in the past year. Swapping cables made no difference to brightness or color quality. :-)

Other Thoughts: I have two of these monitors currently. Bought one when these went on the market, and one earlier in 2015 when it was on sale. Am planning to buy one or two more of these in the future (unless another similar monitor catches my eye on the market).

My first monitor had a single dead blue pixel at the bottom left, but you have to really watch the screen to see it flicker and get stuck on. It's a non-issue overall. Second monitor is just blindingly bright if you're not ready for it. :-)

Bought one for my grandparents, and another for a friend last year. They both are quite pleased with the quality and color of content that pops up on their screens. It mimics the pro's listed above.

Screen can wobble a bit if there's a decent amount of commotion nearby, or if you manage or decide to poke it, let alone... mess with the setting buttons.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing monitor for the price.

Pros: I bought this monitor on sale two years ago and I've loved it so much I ordered a second one.

Cons: It has a thick edge to it which is fine until you get a second monitor then you notice it.
