it works
- Pros: Installed without a problem. I've used Samsung's support before to get a couple monitors repaired and I've been satisfied with what they've done.
- Cons: Hang on to your invoice! Samsung's pretty specific about having a proof of purchase when you register/request an rma and if you don't have one, it will usually delay your repair.
My first Samsung HD
- Pros: My old WD hard drive failed after 7 yrs. Not bad for a hard drive with a 3 yr warranty. Bought the Samsung based on positive reviews. Drive arrived with 3 days, installed drive and a clean install of WinXP. Everything is up and running again. Thanks, Newegg!
- Cons: Two days after I made my purchase, the price dropped by $5. Oh well, what can you do??
- Other Thoughts: This is my first Samsung hard drive. Over the years, I have used numerous HD from WD and Seagate, but lately, I see quite a few bad reviews for their drives. Are they sacrificing quality for quantity??!! As a consumer, I will buy based on what others have experienced as opposed to buying just for the brand.
Great HD
- Pros: Very fast HD, I haven't ran it through HDTune yet, but it's a lot faster than my 7200.10. If you want a fast system, go RAID F3's or SSD.
