Pros: Newegg will take it back...

Cons: The first drive I received was not recognized, so I sent it back for a replacement. The replacement worked for all of about half an hour before emitting the 'click of death'. This time I'm trying a different brand.

Other Thoughts: After the second failure I called Newegg to talk to a human. The customer support was excellent with a waived restocking fee and they paid return shipping!

Pros: It's a hard drive, they either work, or they don't. I added this one to my home server to expand storage space. So far 5 stars! Ask me again in four years if it's still cookin.

Pros: Large capacity, decently fast, took a Windows 7 build. Reasonably cheap on sale (see cons.)

Cons: Needed to RMA the first one, so -1 egg. Killed some of the savings, so no longer as cheap.

Other Thoughts: Waiting to see if the drive holds up. If you are willing to take the gamble and have access to cheap shipping and/or are very patient, go for it.

Pros: Fast, quiet, and stores a lot of data. Price was a deciding factor in buying this brand.

Cons: I got messages saying I couldn't store any more data on the drive, because its catalogue was corrupted. Couldn't even access one folder, because access was corrupted. Only used 12.5% of the total space when this happened.

Other Thoughts: I'm using a recovery program to try to rescue as much as possible. Since this failure is beyond Newegg's RMA time limit, I'll have to buy another drive. I noticed several other reviews said the November 2012 batch was particularly hard-hit, many of them DOA.

Pros: One worked fine and does its job.

Cons: Second one lasted 6 hours. Had it nearly 2 months before I used it so I went to Toshiba. The tell me there's no warranty. I won't be buying anymore of these. Drive clearly dated as Nov. 2012 so its only 6 months.

Other Thoughts: Again no warranty from Toshiba after 6 months. That's a load of ****. Very poor quality control.

Pros: Price, sustained write speed

Cons: sadly not an SSD

Other Thoughts: a lot of lukewarm reviews because of negligent shipping damage that's not neweggs fault they package up the drive pretty well.

Pros: It's a decent drive for the money.

Cons: Toshiba support site refuses to answer questions about this drive having Hitachi and Toshiba part numbers & serial numbers.

Pros: Drive seems fast and has a lot of space for the price I paid.

Cons: Had to RMA the first one because of the click-of-death, straight out of the box.

Other Thoughts: QC might be a little lacking on this drive. Hope that the replacement continues to work. Newegg was prompt in replacing the drive. Shipping the dead drive back makes the price less attractive. Overall, I think that I'll be buying another brand in the future.

Pros: These are good drives when purchased in boxes of 20. We have sold 100's of these drives without any issues. The problems people are having with these drives are the poor packing that newegg does. Newegg packing would actually void the manufacturer warranty. When I purchase these from newegg I will typically have 2 out of 5 that are defective.

Cons: None

Pros: Fast transfer rate, quite, works well so far.

Cons: 23 Mb cache not the 32 advertised.
