1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: 1 drive worked great, so far. But now I'm sketchy about it.

Cons: Bought 2 of these drives. 1 drive has worked great, the other was just recently installed and isn't even recognized in bios. DOA. It's past it's RMA 30 days so I'm stuck with a dead drive. Bummer for me.

1 out of 5 eggsTotal piece of junk

Pros: good price
good newegg service

Cons: drive lasted 4 months....now it seeks and makes a clacking sound over and over again....not detected in bios....what a major drag ....lot of wasted time ahead. The brand was supposed to be a subsidary of a major hard drive maker....not impressed...I have a UPC so bad power didn't kill it...

3 out of 5 eggsA year of ownership

Pros: This drive is a good drive, it holds a ton of data, and operates at high speeds. Also, it warns you before failure, unlike some drives which will just quit, this one gave me a S.M.A.R.T warning well beforehand and the warrantee was easy enough to get a replacement

Cons: I had to get a replacement, after about 9 months the drive gave me several S.M.A.R.T failure warnings. I immediately backed up the drive and sent it in to the manufacturer for replacement. It was a simple process that took only about 3 weeks, but was annoying.

Other Thoughts: Overall I gave this a 3 egg rating. The device is good, but the fact that it failed after 9 months is troubling. The price I got for it was great though, so no major complaints.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat drive

Pros: Good drive, great space (1 TB), works in a Dell OptiPlex E521. Easy to install, but I work in computer tech. support as my day job.

Original OS on drive that came with PC is Vista Ultimate 32-bit. On this new drive, I installed Win 7 32-bit, which is a lot better than Vista 32-bit. I have a laptop with Vista Home Prem. 64-bit & it runs great, Vista 32-bit is a dog (slow).

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I looked around on Newegg for a 1TB+ drive for my upgrade. Settled on this one due to high number of positive reviews. Was seeing a lot of bad reviews for other 1TB+ hard-drives from various companies. I bought this drive in late Nov. '12, now I see it's out of stock & maybe not be restocked. The warranty is good too.

1 out of 5 eggsUpdate

Pros: None - Paid $137.27

Cons: Update to earlier review
after Low Level format and CHKDSK scan, it's unable to install Windows.

Other Thoughts: I don't even want a replacement unless it's an SSD Drive. which will never happen. Buy Seagate

1 out of 5 eggsWestern Digital or Hitachi?

Pros: 3 Year Warranty

Cons: Lasted only 11 months or less with bad sectors popping all over it. Advertised as Western Digital but is a Hitachi. Does it matter anymore?

Other Thoughts: I thought Hitachi and Weatern Digital were good Brands.
Not any longer.

1 out of 5 eggsCan't recommend

Pros: Cheap price

Cons: Cheap quality. Ordered two drives, one died in two days, the second in two months.

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately, Hitachi has resurrected the Deathstar lack of longevity from when these drives were marketed by IBM. Buy another brand.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat inexpensive HDD

Pros: Just plug it in and it works. Nice size for a good price. I don't game and if I did I would use a SSD. For all around dependability it seems fine. Ran a check on the drive and found 0 bad sectors. I'm using it aver 6 months and haven't had a hiccup yet. Oh yeah, It's also quiet.
Last drive I bought was a WD and it lasted about 2 days. I sent it back and the one they sent me would cut out because of a cold solder joint. After I replaced it with this one I hit the connections with a heat gun and it's been perfect ever since. My point being that anyone can have bad luck from any brand. They don't make them here anymore.

Cons: None yet,

Other Thoughts: Packaging and delivery was great, Thank you newegg
