Western Digital Blue drives are great for my uses and speed is right up to requirements. Recognized by Windows 7 right out of the box, needed only formatting. My op system is Windows 7 64. Cons: None Other Thoughts: I believe most bare drive problems I have read about in these Newegg reviews are caused when the drives are formatted while not being connected directly to the SATA cabling from the motherboard, for example, in USB external drive enclosures. This adds extra things that can go wrong. I always install new bare drives directly to the motherboard, format, then, if using as an external drive, remove the newly formatted drive and install in the enclosure or wherever. I replaced that with another dive and it worked great.. I received the replacement drive and figured I could let it sit on the shelf for a week or 2 without a problem.. well that one too was DOA this time after opening the static bag I seen that a corner of the hard drive was damaged and now it has been 30 days.. I had to RMA it back to the manufacture... by the way the replacement besides the corder damage only clicks and well you can hear stuff in the hdd rattling around. SO 2 bad drives the first one and the replacement .. Other Thoughts: Would not buy again based on having 2 drives bad! Hope the 3rd drive once I get it from WD directly will work.. Cons: Runs pretty hot, as in lap warmer hot.. Luckily my case has a nice big fan blowing on it. If you buy this drive, make sure you have some good ventilation on it.
