5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong 7 years later

Pros: Rock solid performance and longevity. Seriously unless you are using these in a hardcore RAID setup, these things will last you until the end of time.

Cons: It's not 1TB+, but hey, it was 2009 - who would have thought I'd need 1TB storage at some stage in my life, right?

Other Thoughts: I honestly just stopped by to commend on this drive because I'm currently in the process of upgrading. When I was a younger tech, I watched my friend go through a series of Seagate drives over the course of a few months. My WD drives have always stood the test of time. I have and will likely always swear by Western Digital. My box was hit by lightning once and although the data was garbled, I was able to wipe and revive the drive without issue. These things are tanks. You cannot go wrong picking one of these up.

3 out of 5 eggsFailed just after 3 years

Pros: Fast
Stable
Good OS Drive

Cons: Bad vibrations since it was bought in January of 2013. Drive started reading bad sectors on 3-7-16. On 3-8-16, the drive no longer turns on.

Other Thoughts: Good thing all important data was backed up. I still recommend WD drives. Failures happen, but WD isn't exempt from my business just because of a failure. Replacing with a WD Blue 1 TB HDD.

Cons: Drive was wiped.

Other Thoughts: On first boot, drive came up with screen indicating it was wiped. Previous computer was a Dell. It was suppose to be a new hard drive. Installed Win 7 with no issues though.
