5 out of 5 eggsIncredible Ram

Pros: Well, i got it running at 1866 @ 8-9-9-24 1.5V on 1T

Runs smooth. I have 32GB installed all 4 DIMMS on Maximus VI. Couldn't ask for better RAM.

Cons: *None

Other Thoughts: Will buy G-Skill again when I build X99 Server.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM!

Pros: Very tight timings of 9-9-9-24. It's XMP profile ready so if your motherboard supports it just set it via BIOS.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is not a con but I had an issue with one of the sticks on my ASRock Extreme6 Z97 motherboard. Memtest86+ 5.01 reports the same memory error location on test #7. So I swapped sticks around and error went away. Figured it was just a fluke. Then I temporarily removed the RAM sticks and swapped the CPU heat sink with something better and reinstalled the RAM it failed the test again. So rather wait for me not having a computer while RMA sends me the replacement I ordered an identical set with intentions to populate this computer to 32 gigs anyway. I moved those sticks to different slot on the motherboard and placed the new sticks in it's place. So far all 4 sticks are running without an issue after running MEMTEST86+ several passes. So I don't know exactly what happened or if it's just a fluke. I will run the memtest again in a couple of weeks. It's probably fine as it'll either work or not. G.Skill's lifetime warranty makes me feel better knowing they stand behind their products.

It's really hard to say if it's a problem with my motherboard or the stick. For now I'm satisfied that it's working just fine on my Linux Mint 17. Really fast system now paired with Intel i7 4970 processor.

5 out of 5 eggsG.Skill for the win

Pros: It's G.Skill. When you buy these you already know you are buying the best modules on the market.

9-9-9-24 XMP timings on 1866MHz RAM. These are tight timings for 1866.

These modules survived 15 hours of Prime95 blend with no errors. Pure gold.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Thank you G.Skill for making a truly superior product. These were purchased for my new 990FX build, replacing a previous Z77 build using G.Skill 1333MHz sticks at 7-7-7-21 and ran flawlessly.

5 out of 5 eggsStellar G.SKILL RAM as usual

Pros: I've used several makes of RAM, from C****** to C****** to O**. Around 2008, I started buying G.SKILLs. I've bought enough kits of this make that I would eventually get a DOA stick, and that happened -- once. Their customer support and RMA process are stellar -- tip-top.

This time, I had a set of GBRL (call 'em "Gerbils") DDR3-1600s which I'd upgraded with a second identical kit to fill all four slots on my ASUS Z68 motherboard.

I had been able to overclock the 2x4GB kit to 1866 without changing the voltage at spec 1.5V, and on good advice from a guru and additional communication with a G.SKILL tech-rep, confirmed that I should be able to OC the double-kit in all four slots -- AND! -- EVEN! -- set the command rate to 1!! Which -- I did. And the RAM passed the 1000% "thorough" HCI-Memtest [taking an understandable 5 days . . . ]

I began noticing occasional, once-weekly unannounced reset troubles. Discovered that the best solution was to run the two kits at stock.

Finally, I just decided to populate two slots with this GZH kit. Pulled the old ones without even setting BIOS back to stock. Put in the new ones, entered BIOS, set the speed to 1866 and timings 9-9-9-24. Ran LinX for 50 iterations over six hours. Not a hitch. Purrr-feck! Jus' Purrr-feck!

Cons: I've never had any cons with any G.SKILL product.

Other Thoughts: One RMA for one DDR2 stick over 5 years of maybe a dozen memory kits. The "Gerbils" ran at spec, and it may be asking a bit much to run them at CMD=1. But I got two years out of them at 1866 and they're still good at spec!

So to me, these GZH 2x8GB are worth it to me. If you overclock RAM, you should expect just the "possibility" of troubles. That's what some of us DO! I'd probably been waiting for this GZH kit to appear all along, and now . . . It's mine -- all mine!

Pros: Works as advertised. Decent looking heat-sinks.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: A bit of a odd name, but the function is what matters. :)
