4 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: Can't really think of too many actually.

Cons: even in xmp(1 or 2) it still does not perform over my 1600 mhz corsair in xmp at 8gigs, and the price!!!

Other Thoughts: Don't need to spend so much on ram next time.

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. This memory kit will surely outperform any DDR3-1600 8GB kit. If you believe it is does not outperform, please contact the G.Skill support team and they will be glad to show you. This is a very high performance memory kit, the low timings and high capacity will be great for any extreme PC build. Depending on CPU used, tweaks may be necessary to unleash the full potential of this RAM. Once you are done with the support team, your computer will benchmark and perform much better than the original RAM. For any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome ram!!!

Pros: Booted up the first time I tried it, went into the bios and set it up to spec and viola 1866 with 9-9-9-24 timings. I am a big G.Skill fan, I have used many types of their memory and have never had an issue. Great Product.

Cons: Won't do my laundry.

Other Thoughts: Most memory will start up the first time at a lower setting, don't trip on this. Just go into your bios and and set it up as it should be set and you should be good to go, some things you just have to learn and memory setup is one of them. I will give you a quick example, I did have 4, 4gb sticks of ram in my system and I could not figure out why I coudn't get it to run at the 1866 speed, turns out due to my motherboard limitations that if I want that speed I can only install 2 dimms and they have to be in slot 1 and 3 to run at the 1866 speeed. So once again people I stress do your homework!!!

4 out of 5 eggs4 out of 5 ain't bad

Pros: The sets that worked, work very well. Fast, work at specified settings. Able to withstand days of torture testing at rated speed.

Cons: I bought 5 sets for identical systems. One set was defective and consistently had errors at the exact same memory location during the same test. The error followed the memory set from on motherboard to the next. I sent it back for replacement, but unfortunately NewEgg refunded my money instead because they said the memory had been discontinued. I ordered a different model as a replacement, and a day later this memory was listed as available again. The whole discontinued fiasco is the most disappointing thing about my experience, and that's Newegg’s fault. I still felt I needed to deduct one egg due to a defective set.

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory kit works extremely well in your new build. This is definitely a great memory kit as it provides high speed and capacity at a low price. With this RAM installed, your computer's performance will be fully unleashed. Reliability, even under a full torture test, should be flawless since every single memory kit is rigourously tested for these conditions. It is strange a memory kit had issues, but glad you were able to get it resolved. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

1 out of 5 eggsIncompatible

Pros: Specs

Cons: Not compatible with ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe Motherboard, or the RAM is bad, or the motherboard is bad.
Intel I7-3770K installed
MB gives q-code 55 when trying to boot system. Which indicates that memory is not installed.

Other Thoughts: I am thinking that maby I should have stayed with Corsair RAM. Never had an issue with Corsair with many builds.
G-Skill says on their information card that comes with the RAM states they have complete technical support via telephone. However, they do not provide any U.S.A. telephone number on their internet site or on the card, that I could find.
I hope the money I spent on the RAM was not wasted.
In any case, now my computer will not be working for an unknown amount of time. This review was made on my wifes computer.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We can surely assist you with this small problem. The memory is indeed compatible with that motherboard and CPU. Test one module at a time to see if you can get the system to boot. If not, you may have a defective motherboard. To further confirm the problem, use other DDR3 and you should find that it will not boot as well. Once the motherboard is replaced, the memory should boot just fine. Enable XMP Profile under AI Overclock Tuner in BIOS/EFI, then the system should be ready to go at optimal performance. The XMP Profile must be enabled to allow the motherboard to automatically detect and configure performance DRAM settings. If this option is not enabled, the memory will AUTO default to lower (standard) values.

The G.Skill USA telephone support number is listed on the Official G.Skill website and on every item sold on NewEgg. The telephone support hours are M-F 9A-5P PST, please contact us during these hours and someone will be glad to help you. The G.Skill telephone support line is (909) 598-6860, Los Angeles area code.

When you purchase G.Skill, money is never wasted. Once you get the system running and configured properly, you will love the performance of this high capacity, high speed RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsIn a word? Awesome.

Pros: Awesome product -- Easily the best memory modules I've ever owned. Currently running at 1866 8-9-9 with 1.51v in a Z77 with a 2600k @ 4.5GHz with not even a hiccup from the memory, passing 2 nights of Memtest86 and a 24h session of prime blend.

Cons: None...except shipping time. 8 days to go 150 miles. The Pony Express was faster than that. Price is a bit high but you get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's memory and it works

Pros: Easy install. WEI 7.9 removable cooling fins if needed. Installed the memory in BIOS manualy without a problem. The ASUS MB Z77 Sabertooth took care of the other setting.

Cons: High in price, and the top fin might get in the way of a cooling fan on the CPU. I had to move the fan a little. Other wise I could have taken off the cooling fin on the first chip. I knew this going in. No big con's.

Other Thoughts: I jumped from 16GB's of Crucial 1333 because I needed a faster memory for video editing, but wanted to try and keep the timing down as low as possible. Timing on this memory is 9-9-9-24 at 1.5v.
