3 out of 5 eggsFirst Impressions Not So Hot

Pros: Thanks to Newegg, received the RAM quickly...

Cons: Determined both sticks of RAM as defective after several failed attempts to boot. Finally inserted sticks 1 at a time and booted into Windows. The first stick caused application errors immediately followed by a blue screen memory dump shortly thereafter. After removing the 1st bad stick, replacing with the 2nd stick and booting into Windows successfully, my computer appeared to be functioning fine. I attempted to run Memtest and my computer crashed again with a blue screen memory dump. I am running the ASUS P8Z68-V mobo, as well.

Based on this, I am not happy at this point considering I am now required to pay for return shipping to Newegg due to a defective product which clearly slipped through quality testing.

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: It works.

Cons: Has caused a few BSODs due to faultiness.

Other Thoughts: Never really found out what is wrong with my memory, but it still works. Good enough for me.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Let us help! If you ever have any problems and you think it may be an issue with the RAM, let us know and we will be glad to solve it. This memory kit is above standard, so make sure to configure settings in BIOS/EFI. Without the proper settings, the RAM may not be perfectly stable. Once you have everything set up correctly, the system will be fast and stable. This is a very high performance and capacity memory kit. For all further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsFirst Time With This Brand

Pros: Super quick, worked with my system for more than 2 years. After that, the RMA from G Skill came through rather quickly.

Cons: Quit after two years, but it was quickly replaced under warranty.

Other Thoughts: Never had RAM go, but I assume it will happen one time or another. Happy RMA came through with no hassle.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory, but it's expensive at the moment

Pros: I've been building computers for myself, friends, and family for 13+ years now and I am a systems / network admin at a large company.

This is great RAM, highly overclockable if that is your thing, but it's plenty fast on its own for people that don't want to mess with that. My current system is using this RAM and I've been pleased with it

Cons: The price, although it's in line with other RAM at the moment... that is to say RAM is just expensive in general right now and I don't know why. When I bought this -exact- RAM in February 20013, it cost me $95. As of today (09/12/2014), it costs $165. Given that better RAM has come out since then I am disappointed with the price.

Other Thoughts: I'd buy another 16GB of RAM today if the price were closer to what it was 19 Months ago. I'd like to go from 16 to 32 GB of RAM but I can't quite swallow a 70%+ price increase.

5 out of 5 eggsThis RAM is weird, but good

Pros: Great RAM, can even overclock it really high

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My sticks are... odd. I had them overclocked to 2133MHz completely stable (Could have gone higher if I tried I bet) with 11 12 11 timings, however, I could not get these sticks to boot at 1866MHz, no matter what timings or voltage (Up to 1.65) I put it at. Not a con or something big enough to take an egg away, just really odd.
