5 out of 5 eggsG. Skill Memory

Pros: High quality memory, great speed and timings without a huge unnecessary heat sink sticking off the top. I needed something to fit under my PH-TC14PE and this fit the bill.

Cons: None

3 out of 5 eggsFast, but defective for me

Pros: Easy steps to change from 1600 to 1886.
Reasonable price.

Cons: Had this memory for less than a month before my first PFN_LIST_CORRUPT B.S.O.D

Other Thoughts: I got this memory as part of a budget build i ordered. I used GSkill on my prior builds and have always had good luck. This seems to be a fluke.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We will be glad to help with this issue. Glad to hear you got the RAM at a good price. This is a high speed, high capacity memory kit so we are certain you will be very pleased with the results. Since the RAM specifications are above standard, make sure to manually configure settings in BIOS, or enable the XMP/DOCP performance profile. Some CPUs need additional tweaking to support a good memory kit like this, so please contact us directly if you continue to have issues. If you believe it may be a problem with RAM, test one module at a time to see if they perform the same. If a module performs differently than the other, feel free to send them in for RMA exchange. Visit the G.Skill website for complete RMA procedure.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsIt rocks

Pros: Actually bought this as part of an effort to debug an awful motherboard. G. Skill has been the most reliable memory I've ever used. EVERY motherboard seems to love it.

Cons: I wish I could afford to buy their faster RAM, but I'm not sure I'd see the difference since I don't notice FPS much past 60-70....and this RAM brings it when you pair it with a decent CPU/GPU combo.

Other Thoughts: Every machine I have uses G. Skill and - unless something drastic changes with their production/ value/ price ratio...every one of them always will.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Reliable

Pros: I've had two of these sticks since 2013, and neither have ever given me any problems. Even if you are not using them for for gaming, their sleek look and affordable price is just icing on the cake of these reliable sticks. I plan on buying two more very soon to put in my desktop!

Cons: If I had to say one thing, it's that if you are building a new comp you might as well just buy two 8 gig sticks since. I've noticed that it struggles now to keep up with the RAM requirements of today, especially if you are running multiple processes and are using Win 8.1. If that's not a big issue to you then I highly recommend these sticks.

Other Thoughts: The only reason I did not take off an egg is because I'm reviewing based on my total experience with these sticks prior to my eventual upgrade. Can't blame the sticks for tech advances.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic buy

Pros: Fast memory

Cons: the little cooling plates have started to shift and may possibly come off one day, but i bought this 4yrs ago so I suppose nothing lasts forever.

Other Thoughts: I bought 2x4GB sticks in 2011, so I've been using these for gaming for over 4yrs. I recently bought a new CPU and graphics card as part of a hardware refresh. I thought abot buying another set of 4GB, but after some testing I realized these are still going strong. These babies never even flinch or hit high usage; the handle anything i've ever thrown at them.

I like this product so much I'd like to buy more, but sadly i don't have the need.

5 out of 5 eggsPurchased a 2nd set of these

Pros: I've been buying the Sniper Edition from G.Skill the last 2 builds, love them. Performance is awesome with these sticks! I bought a second set to have 16 GB of ram for my crossfire setup to stop the bottlenecking between the CPU and GPU. I no longer have GPU lag while playing BF4 now on ultra settings.

Cons: None thus far

5 out of 5 eggsIt's Ram

Pros: I bought the fancy gaming ram for my gaming computer. It seems to do well. I haven't noticed any ram related issues in 2 years other than running in single channel for about 6 months.

Cons: I had to put the sticker in myself. Maybe your into that kind of thing? I'm not. Not worth cracking an egg over.
