5 out of 5 eggsNo Problems, Buying Again

Pros: Works
Looks nice

Cons: None that I can think of

Other Thoughts: I made a budget gaming build and bought this for 8 gigs. I'm doing some upgrading now, and instead of buying new ram, I'm just buying this again to get 16. Owned this for almost a year.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Warranty honored

Cons: Failed about 9 months out but the warranty was honored and replacements sent.

Other Thoughts: I emailed the steps I took to troubleshoot the memory issue and they contacted me the next day with an RMA and I had my memory in less than a week. So I can give them 4 stars. I only give 5 stars if every thing works as advertised and hasn't failed.

4 out of 5 eggsTimings are not Necessarily Correct

Pros: Looks nice and worked instantly.
Price was good, especially with G.Skill 10%off code.

Cons: Looked at Timings with a Utility which reports 9-9-9-24 .
Looks like the only way you get 7-7-7-21 is if your using
Intel MB with XMP enabled.

Other Thoughts: So if your using AMD MB you might as well buy 9-9-9-24 Memory
and save a few Dollars.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Tommy

Glad to hear you got a great deal for this high performance RAM and you like the appearance. All memory kits better than standard will default to a standard value of DDR3-1333 CL9. To utilize the performance specifications, the motherboard must recognize XMP for Intel or DOCP for AMD, or be capable of manually adjusting timings. There is no problem using AMD motherboards, they can recognize XMP profiles as DOCP or another name depending on your motherboard. Refer to the motherboard user's manual for more detailed information. Once you input the correct settings for this RAM, it will run flawlessly at DDR3-1333 7-7-7-21 1.50V. It can also be overclocked to achieve even better results if you choose to do that. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Cons: took a while to deliver

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you are very happy with the purchase. The black RipJaws X series heat spreader is one of the most saught after designs as it provides a stealth look with any motherboard and case. DDR3-1333 CL7 will allow the system to be quick and snappy, perfect for gaming and multi-tasking. 8GB will allow the operating system to remain nice and smooth under any circumstance such as video streaming, and memory intensive processes. Never worry about lag and delays again. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsOkay but

Pros: Installs without issue
low latency

Cons: don't have BIOS settings to prove RAM's performance (not G-Skill's fault)

Other Thoughts: I have a Gateway fx6840-01e. the h57h am2 rev 2 board (i7 LGA1156 chip) comes stock with 4GB of ram, but I wanted an update before my 4 yr old dinosaur goes extinct.
Sadly, the board is optimized for Intel Chips, Intel Boost, and Spectrum optimization for speed and voltage based on performance needs, so there is no BIOS adjustment available.
So the only way to know that the RAM is fast is to load my fastest, most core intensive game, then the speed multipliers will turn on with the intel boost technology, and the RAM will shine.
Until then, who knows? But it did install well. No change in the windows experience from 7.5 (2010 1GB sticks of DDR3 1333 10600), but W7 64 bit saw the ram and operates in the 2GB-3GB active use range during Windows operation.
I will buy a second pair of these in the near future to max out my Motherboard at 16GB until the system dies with no replacement parts.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality and speed

Pros: I bought this memory kit and it's been working flawlessly since July 2012. Couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.
Using with an MSI Z77A-GD65 Z77 DDR3 1600 LGA 1155 motherboard.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Of course wish it was more affordable. But it's cost is/was what I expected, and can't argue with it working so well.

5 out of 5 eggsAs good as it gets

Pros: -Style
-low latency
-easily OC'd
-inexpensive ($60 when I bought the kit)

Cons: Not a con for me, but if you have a small board, large cooler, or both, the teeth may get in the way of your cooler.

Other Thoughts: Do your research.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's G.Skill

Pros: -Cheap
-Low latency
-Easily OC'd
-Looks nice in my case

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: The teeth on the sticks make certain coolers incompatible. Be wary of that. I had no issues, but noticed that it may be an issue for people with smaller boards, big CPU coolers, or both.

3 out of 5 eggsNew Batch Incompatible

Pros: Gskill is and has been my goto company for years and years. And still is and will be. I have bought 1 2x2gb set and it worked fine. I also bought a 4x4gb set and it worked fine, I have 2 duplicate motherboards and this brand and model of memory worked as I mixed and match the above sets no problem.

Cons: I figure this is a new batch. And something has changed, so my motherboard does not like it. Any slot, any ram timing, and cmos reset, bios reset. And no boot period. Just a constant reboot cycle. Same result on 2x GA-G41MT-S2PT (rev. 2.1) motherboards. .

Other Thoughts: I still trust GSkill and would not bat a eyelash to recommend to anyone. Newegg handled my problem quickly and painlessly. I still would like to get a 2x4gb memory set working some how.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We can surely help you with this problem. With the latest batches of memory, many are single sided, so this can pose a problem for older systems. For G41 and other pre-2011 chipsets, double sided DIMMs are absolutely required. As a result, exchange for a memory kit such as the G.Skill F3-10666CL9D-8GBNT and you should have no problem at all. DDR3-1333 CL9 is plug and play for most DDR3 motherboards/computers. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us directly. We will make sure your computer is upgraded properly and running smoothly with G.Skill RAM.
