5 out of 5 eggsTriple channel correction

Pros: Great triple channel.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Correction, (still making mistakes) , these were triple channel memory that I put in a dual channel board. Yet as I said all worked fine.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat buy

Pros: I got them with a discount and was very happy with my price. i would have still purchased at original price. I have bought several G.Skill for my upgrades and then for my latest build and am always please with their performance.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I was surprised that these modules went to the rated 1600 without having to mess around in the bios. I think it had some to do with my card recognizing them properly also. ** My mistake, I ordered dual channel (I didn't pay attention) for a single channel system, but all work great just the same. I paid less for these than I would have for the single channels. I was just looking for a good bargain for 12 Gigs for my new build and the price was good, just didn't notice the word dual for some reason. I didn't notice till I got them and then checked my order to make sure I got the right ones. I did, I had ordered these, but they work fine. Just repeating this to let you all know dual will work in single channel systems just fine.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks on P6T Deluxe version 1 motherboard

Pros: Using XMP and runs great at 1600 9-9-9-24 (1.5V) with the 6GB of G. Skill F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ that I already had. I now have 18GB of RAM total.

Cons: Heat sink is a bit higher than normal, so watch out if you have a custom cooler. It just barely fit under my huge 120mm custom CPU fan.

Other Thoughts: Mobo: P6T Deluxe version 1 (BIOS version 2101)
CPU: Intel Core i7 920 overclocked to 3.2Ghz
RAM: 6GB F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ + 12GB F3-12800CL9T-12GBRL
Graphics: EVGA GTX 260 with 216 pipelines superclocked

I was worried about adding RAM to this board as I've read many posts about people having problems. This RAM "just worked" and was fully recognized with my previous G.Skill RAM that was already there. (Previous RAM is still in orange slots. This new stuff is in the black slots.)

5 out of 5 eggsRunning Great

Pros: Running at 9-9-9-24 and a tad over 1600 at 1.5v on an overclocked i7 920. Torture tested for 6 hours without a hitch. Great minor upgrade!

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Much more stable than my old bargain bin 1.65v OCZ modules.

Its unfortunate that some people rate products like these poorly due to the preset timings in their BIOS. If you're not sure what XMP profiles are and how they work then do a quick read on them before installing the memory.

2 out of 5 eggsWrong Timings!

Pros: Looks good. Heat spreaders are very nice. Booted up my computer ok. Gave 2 eggs for that.

Cons: Timing out of the box were 9-11-11-28 which is a far cry from the advertised 9-9-9-24. I now have to go through the hassles of manually setting the timings and all the other settings to get my rig running as I like it when I thought I could just install and go. Very disappointing but I don't think GSkill will lose any sleep over my inconveniences.

Other Thoughts: This is my first GSkill purchase as I had very reliable 6GB Mushkin Redline in my rig before but wanted to upgrade to 12GB. The reviews looked promising so I decided to try GSkill instead of staying with my tried and true Mushkin but I was letdown because I bought something that is not what was advertised. Where's the QC? Very disappointing experience!

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We will be glad to clarify some things as you are misinformed. The JEDEC standard for DDR3 memory is DDR3-1600 CL11 and DDR3-1333 CL9. These are the maximum values any DDR3 motherboard can automatically default to with AUTO settings. When using memory with better specifications (above standard), it is necessary to manually input DRAM frequency, timings, and voltage, or enable the performance profile if supported by your motherboard (XMP/DOCP/EOCP). DDR3-1600 CL9 kits will NOT automatically default the the rated values. Once you input the proper values for the memory, it should perform extremely well in your system. We do lose sleep over your inconveniences, so in the future, please contact us directly if you have questions or concerns.

Thank you
