I put two of these kits into a new server build. Once I figured out the right voltage, they were rock solid at 1333mhz. ...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat So Far!

Pros: So far so good. I was hesitant to buy these at first because I'm an old school type of guy who only knew Corsair, Kingston, and Crucial. I went with a pair of Patriot G series Sector 5s, but had to return because of incompatibilty. So went with these after and so far they work great! The heatsyncs are sick, back in my day we didnt' have heatsyncs on RAM (or not that I knew of). They look alot better than what you see online, the heatsyncs are glossy and much bolder.

Cons: DHL shipping is really confusing (Newegg Saver). They have 2 different tracking sites, 1 for package tracking and 1 for mail tracking. These were mail tracking, which then goes to USPS before it gets to you. Still got to me in 3 days because NEWEGG is AWESOME.

Other Thoughts: This is my first time putting a computer together and I love it! I recommend anyone who likes computing to do it! I'm definitely not tech savvy, but it was a lot of fun researching and picking out the pieces that I wanted!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product

Pros: I just wanted a set of ram that worked at lower voltages and this set delivered. No problems with installation of DOA's, the heatsinks look pretty sweet as well. Very satisfied with the amount of money spent.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM!

Pros: I've bought two of these sets since I've started assembling computers, and they work really well. They're everything you'd want in RAM sticks, basically. Recommended.

Cons: On my first order one of the sticks was dead. I don't know the cause, but it doesn't dent the quality of the RAM, as the second stick and my second order of this same RAM worked perfectly. Memtest is your friend, and I still recommend them.

Other Thoughts: I now have 6gigs of these on my gaming computer. Works wonderfully.

4 out of 5 eggsBest Ram I've Used (wordy review)

Pros: Truly excellent ram. I ordered 4x2gb sticks and all but one worked perfect. The bad news is the one stick I didn't figure out was faulty until about 5 months after I ordered. Due to the fact that I was over budget on my build by $300, and I had a defective iz3d monitor, BFG Tech 1200w PSU, and X-Arcade Tankstick controller, I was just too lazy and overworked on my job to go through ANOTHER return-shipping ordeal. Back to the pros...the heatsinks on these beasts look sweet and match my build perfectly. They overclock very well, but I ended up running them at stock voltages since my liquid cooling setup wasn't finished and the air setup I had was insufficient. CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 120w - MOBO: GIGABYTE UD5 790FX - GFX: Radeon 5850 - RAM: 8GB 4x2gb DDR3 Ripjaws - OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x 64. It runs Windows 7 perfectly with quick bootups, almost no lag when bringing up even the most resource-hungry apps...games run smooth...just about the best I could ask for

Cons: Well, I did get one stick bad...when I would boot up my OS I would get a blue screen if the PC was left off for about 4 hours...after a few reformats (thinking it was the motherboard, CPU, or hard drives) and corrupted boot.dll issues, I finally started taking sticks out and running with two at a time. Eventually found that the one stick was causing the PC to get blue screens, and now it sits on a shelf for no reason...not sure why I keep it but I might try to ask G.Skill for a swap although I'm not sure I'll get it..

Other Thoughts: I typically work 5-7 12-14hr days, have 4 kids, and a wife that tolerates my hobbies on a limited basis. RMAs don't take very much effort but for the money I make the cost of one stick wasn't worth it in this case. Perhaps eventually I'll get a refund, maybe not...I've bought quite a few memory modules from G.Skill and aside from this one little oops, I am very happy with the company and will continue to support them. Next year I will be upgrading to 12gb of Ripjaws ram, and hope for the best...I highly recommend these to my friends, and continue to use these in builds for others I end up making. I doubt this happens very often and I hear G.Skill has great support so no reason to let the one egg deter you from this brand...

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear one module is defective. Please send them in for new replacements and the new kit should work better. All G.Skill memory packages are backed by a lifetime guarantee for these types of situations. If for whatever reason your memory is dead on arrival or becomes defective after a couple days, weeks, or years of use, we will exchange it with a new replacement without question. If you have any further questions or issues with your G.Skill memory package, please feel free to contact us directly and we will be more than glad to assist you.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsSolid memory

Pros: If you want reliable memory, though a few bucks more than others, go with Gskill. I've bought many over the years and never had a bad one. From my experience, I would rank Gskill even higher than the venerable Corsair.

Cons: maybe a bit cheaper

Other Thoughts: Never had to contact Gskill for support, but their responses to various negative reviews show that they're a reliable and reputable company to deal with.

2 out of 5 eggsBeware !

Pros: well, one stick worked. Both worked at first. Newegg rma np and gave me a mailing label.

Cons: One stick went bad. What a pain to find with random working. Will hope other and next sticks work longer than a week.

Other Thoughts: Used this brand in past with np. Does anyone use quaulity control anymore or do they just send out and wait for complaints ?

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We apologize for the inconvenience. All G.Skill memory packages are tested before being placed in inventory. They are also randomly pulled and tested to insure quality control. Unfortunately DOA cases still do occur, as it is the nature of computer hardware, which is why all of our memory packages are backed by a lifetime guarantee. If for whatever reason your memory is dead on arrival or becomes defective after a couple days, weeks, or years of use, we will exchange it with a new replacement without question. If you have any further questions or issues with your G.Skill memory package, please feel free to contact us directly and we will be more than glad to assist you.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - It runs cool
- It looks good
- It works

Cons: Haven't come across any stability issues, so none so far...

Other Thoughts: If this review had to be any longer than this, it would have been bad ram. It did what it was supposed to do and i really couldn't be happier with it!
