Manufacturer Response:. Dear Customer Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Unfortunately memory is expensive at the moment due to global supply and demand. Hopefully in the near future prices will be able to deflate thus making memory more affordable to upgrade. If you have any further questions, please feel free to let us know. No problems, therefore no complaints
- Pros: Easy install on XP. Runs perfectly in unganged mode 1333mhz on my gigabyte motherboard.
- Cons: Nothing really, a little expensive, but if it works it was worth the $
Bad Apple
- Pros: Good price
- Cons: This memory was part of a new build. Got everything put together and then installed Windows 7 x64. That's when my problems began. On subsequent reboots Windows would crash regularly. New installs of Win 7 x32 and Win XP resulted in the same problem.
After some research I dwnld MemTest to check the memory. While MemTest may not detect all errors if it does find errors you can be pretty sure you have defective memory. Sure enough one of the sticks was bad. Ran multiple passes on both together and individually and came up with errors again.
Removed the bad stick, reinstalled Windows 7 x64 and haven't had problems since. Will RMA since these are a matched pair.
