5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory

Pros: Great memory got it quick for DHL deliver put that in and runs great had trouble with motherboard didnt like all four slots being used but a quick BIOS update fixed that. Not too bad for the price got it to add on to my system that already had this in it cause I am running windows 7 64 bit and 4 Gig isn’t enough in my book I like to have 6 or higher so now I have 8 and im glade they still make this all years it cost about $55 in 2009.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Love G Skill never had a problem with them very reliable and good company I don’t think I ever had one die on me and I’ve been using them forever. I use them for basic computers and some gamming computers.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: good brand, good price, nice to see there are companies still out there selling DDR2 ram! i had ordered 2 of these kits sadly had to return them as my motherboard wouldnt function with them installed, nothing against the ram, just bad motherboard for that speed/voltage of ram

Cons: none for ram, but my motherboard just wont accept it no matter what settings, even had gskill and gigabyte try to help with no success

Other Thoughts: i will be getting 2 kits of the gskill ddr2 800 2x2gb just hope my motherboard will accept it.. just make sure your board can handle the 2.0/2.1 volts needed for the ram to function!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product - Used 4-5 years

Pros: Good quality, CAS 5, Good heat control.

Cons: There is less expensive RAM

Other Thoughts: I used this on 2 builds. On both it worked fine and continues after almost 5 years. I would buy this for upgrades or even a new build. Good stuff.

5 out of 5 eggsWarranty replacement by newegg

Pros: With heavy use on Win 8.1 and photo rendering, computer would lock up, replaced under warranty and now computer screams with 8 gig running with quad processor. Beats many of the new pcs/tablets. Very happy.

Cons: One lousy bit with heat can make for screwy hang ups. Very rare as my other 4 gigs have worked beyond belief.

Other Thoughts: GSKILL kicks.

5 out of 5 eggsGood RAM

Pros: Bought 4 gigs back in 2009 and still using them today.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Back again, 5 years later to buy another 4 gigs to max out my board. I don't feel like building a new system just yet, so maybe this will allow me to put it off for another year.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory works great in your system and it was easy to set up. This is a high performance memory kit that should perform extremely well. DDR2 is becoming rare, so high speed DDR2-1066 can be even more limited, and that is reflected in the pricing. We do not control pricing, if you compare the same exact specification RAM, you will still find that G.Skill is the lowest price and highest quality. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsBlue screen - fixed with GSkill tech

Pros: Fairly good price (for old DDR2), the specs match my existing memory (I added this memory to the existing ones).

Cons: I got blue screen (of death) upon initial installation. Removed these memory, keeping my old memory. Then, I called tech support and they went through BIOS setting, instructed me what to change and set to. The tech guy was very patient with me. So, after 20 minutes of work, the result is as expected - the computer works fine with added memory. Thank you!

Other Thoughts: I won't be able to fix the problem I had without GSkill's tech support.

4 out of 5 eggsG.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)

Pros: Good upgrade at this point, if you don't want to completely overhaul your aging system. This is a reliable memory, backed by lifetime guarantee from manufacturer.

Cons: Elevated voltage (2.1V) may cause incompatibility with some other brands and requires manual entries in BIOS (Asus P5B Deluxe in this case).

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is working well in your system. With an additional 4GB, it can surely prolong the lifespan of a computer by reducing any lag or delays. Sufficient RAM will allow the operating system to remain smooth even during heavy load such as video playback, streaming, and more. The memory specifications are above standard, so make sure to configure settings in BIOS, but once that is complete the system should be fast and stable. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

1 out of 5 eggsG.Skill quality going down?

Pros: Great price, nice that it has a lifetime guarantee.

Cons: I'm sorry to give it a low score, but after some of my sticks went bad after about a year, I RMA'ed my bad ones in for a replacement. And again. And again. I've received 3 replacements now in a short period, and every one of them are bad. Is G.Skill quality going downhill, or are they purposefully sending 'questionable' ones to those of us receiving free RMA's? Whatever the case, I've lost my confidence in G.Skill and won't be buying from them in the future.

Other Thoughts: For those wondering, I tested the sticks using different memory testing software to be certain, namely MemTest86/MemTest86+. If there's anything remotely wrong with the RAM modules, this software will find it.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you had such issues. This memory kit is above standard, so make sure to configure settings in BIOS/EFI. Without the proper settings, the system may be unstable and the memory may seem defective. It is highly unlikely multiple kits from G.Skill were defective. Please contact the G.Skill support team directly and they will be glad to assist you. They will make sure G.Skill RAM is working fast and stable in your computer.

Thank you
