Great Memory
- Pros: Bought this memory almost a year ago, ran it on the same computer with Windows XP, Vista, and now Windows 7. Never had a problem with, placed another order last night for 2 more sticks. Might try my hand at overclocking when the memory comes in.
- Cons: Price. Bought this same memory in Jan 09 for 25.99, now it's 53.99.
Dell Vostro 400 Compatible
- Pros: Decent price, heat sinks, worked first time.
- Cons: None so far.
- Other Thoughts: Unfortunately, this ram is mismatched in regard to timings from the 2gb I already had in my Dell Vostro 400, but it seems to work fine. No BSOD's, performance seems on par, etc.
First Time Memory Purchase
- Pros: I purchased this for my Dell Dimension 8400 after one of the original sticks failed finally. I spent countless hours on this site looking at the memory and decided to buy this after the positive reviews. I just received and installed this memory today and at first I thought I had one stick DOA. After a little trouble shooting, I have a dead slot on my memory board. So I moved them to the black tabbed slots (instead of white) and the MB recognized them right away. They look great, and works even better! My dimension starts up and loads pages fast, and was just a great choice. The price and quality is excellent, and the heatspreaders look very nice. Overall, Great memory for the price. I would recommend A-Data memory and am considering adding another stick, but this time a 2GB so I have a total of 4GB. If you need memory, especially for a Dell, I would recommend this Product.
- Cons: The only "con" I have is that the pics do not represent the product acurately. The heatspreaders are red, but are of a different design, and the packaging was different. But I can't really say this is a con. Just figured someone might like to know that the product is not exactly as depicted. But as for performance and looks, there is no "cons" to this product.
- Other Thoughts: As mentioned above, I purchased this for a Dell Dimension 8400 Desktop, which I hear Dell's can be picky about new memory. This is the first upgrade I have done to this machine. Originally it was equipped with 2 sticks of Samsung 512MB 3200 until one went dead. After over a month of dealing with it being slow, and continuous research on this site, I decided to order this product. I am very happy I did! My computer is much faster then before, even when I first purchased it. The motherboard recognized them instantly, and informed me of the memory change. Since my mother uses this as her computer, she is surprised at how fast the system finally is. We are both very happy with thepurchase, and I would not only recommend A-Data Products, but also Newegg. Just a great experience all around. And you cannot beat their prices! If you own an older Dell CP and need new/more memory, this product works wonderful. Highly recommended!
