1 out of 5 eggsBad DIMMs

Pros: Absolutely None

Cons: Must be bad luck, of the 1500+, I get a set of bad dimms and not to mention once, but twice. The RMA that was sent back did not work either. The shipping is killing me. Either Newegg or Crucial should have to pay for shipping when their products do not meet their standards.

2 out of 5 eggshad some fail after 1-2 years

Pros: We purchased enough of this to build a couple dozen desktops (2 sticks per machine) and used some for a couple temporary servers. All worked fine until recently.

Cons: These dimms seem to be dropping like flies now. All of the dimms passed memtest86+ when they were installed 1-2 years ago but now I have 4 different desktops and one server that started crashing or experiencing data corruption issues in the last 6 weeks, I tested them and now they fail memtest. Since these all started occurring recently I expect more to fail soon.

I verified it is the memory because these same machines will pass with other dimms (even other corsair xms2 dimms), and we have two different models of motherboard we are using and the problem appeared on both types, the only commonality is the memory.

I am used to having to verify compatibility before buying memory, and memtesting when you assemble a machine. What I am not used to is having a significant percentage of the memory fail without warning 1-2 years in. This is a rather annoying problem since even if you perform due diligence up front it can nail you later, and be somewhat difficult to diagnose.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully Corsair will replace the failed dimms, but even if they do this is a pretty major PITA since I now have to go memtest every machine built with these, and we could still have more failures down the road.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Worked right out of the box. Tried the OCZ 4gb upgrade and got Bluescreens all the time. Newegg RMA'd the cost back. Ordered the Corsair and it worked perfectly. Will never go back.

Cons: None I can think of.

5 out of 5 eggsanother great corsair product

Pros: solid ram for the price. bought i when it was $62. prices fluctuate retardedly with memory so when you see something cheap hop on it asap. had problems with corsair in the past but now everything works well.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsI'm satified

Pros: I got this before DDR3 rams were really on the mainstream. It was only 46$ when I got this, awesome how the price shot so high. Its been working great.

Cons: Corsair didn't offer lifetime warranty until Jun 2010. My computer wasn't able to read one of the stick correctly so I thought it was fried, since it read the other one find. Than I've updated my BIos, its running find now. Hopefully it isnt at the edge of dying.

Other Thoughts: Meh, its funny how the prices raises and falls. We're not buying stocks.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Product!

Pros: Works as advertised... excellent price, passed all memory tests with zero faults. Much needed upgrade that I have been procrastinating due to expected costs, but I am happy that I finally did it!

Cons: None as of 2 months.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair is rock solid!

Pros: Fast, reliable, stable, tweakable, etc... I could go on and on. Corsair really nailed it with the XMS series!

Cons: Not free, or cheaper.

Other Thoughts: I now only buy RAM from 3 manufacturers, a got two sets of this stuff and my world is much better for it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for dual core machines.

Pros: I have this ram for over year now, and it hasn't let me down yet. Watch out for the heat though, mine tend to get hot after long amount of intensive work and gaming, but also i have all for 4 slot filled with ram.

Cons: The price, when I bought this it was about 55 dollars. The price only went up over the years, which to me make no sense to me. Now that DDR3 is out and has been for a while, the cost in imo should go down.

Other Thoughts: That is ddr2 800 ram can be seen as a down side, this ram is stable if you over clock them, I no longer over clock ram due to the fact that i have 6gb of ram and machine is older, with amd 6400+ cpu.
