5 out of 5 eggsfast, stable, cheap

Pros: fast
runs cool
pretty red lights
can fit aftermarket heatsink easily :)

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: i tested this kit with prime95 for 12 hrs. no issues at all, and very little heat buildup.

update: 1 stick died after 4 yrs. it gave me my money's worth. had it OC'd to almost 1800 for most of it's life.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM!

Pros: Thick PCB, GeIL RAM Modules use GeIL RAM chips on them even with the cheaper versions unlike cheaper memory from other manufacturers.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The solid LEDs are a nice touch along with the gold design on the PCB. When it comes to RAM of this speed and latency, the price for quality modules like these are fantastic. I've been a G.Skill buyer for awhile, I'll continue to use these modules for my basic builds.

5 out of 5 eggsupdated review

Pros: reliable memory! lack of heatspreader allows large cpu heatsinks with low overhang to be used. very affordable!

Cons: none so far...

Other Thoughts: still running these with the Athlon II X4 640; NB clocked at 2400, NB voltage 1.200, memory voltage at 1.59, timings 9-9-9-27-36 1T @ 1600. stable with memtest, occt, & aod stress testing; 4 hours each test. maxxmem2 v1.99 memory score 9.31 GB/sec & latency 47.2ns. memtest bandwidth at 9200 MB. memtest & maxxmem bandwidth very close to each other. cas 9 @ 1600 has 12% more bandwidth than cas 8 @ 1333 in my system.

4 out of 5 eggspretty

Pros: I have run this series of ram since ddr2, and it's been a champ.
the red lights are bright but not *painfully* so (i looked @ them w/out the side of the case on no sweat.) 1600 speed, native on the board that worked (see Other Thoughts) 2 sticks of 4gb each

Cons: Some might not want the red leds? some may want heat sinks
? some may want it faster? some may want more ram per stick?
well that last one they have taken care of for you but everything else is a nit pic. four eggs for good product, but not ZOMG PHENOMINAL.

Other Thoughts: got this ram an antec psu and an asroK motherboard, the mobo was DOA, and we found out by plugging in psu and ram to identical board that was for another computer. ram and psu worked, mobo didn't, RMAing mobo now.)
I like this ram, if it's like it's ddr2 predecessor it wil run stable at top recommended speed for YEARS, and look pretty with it's black gold and red color pattern. you can buy/add heatsinks and if the LEDs bother you, buy different led-less ram?, or alternately, install different diodes where the red ones are currently hooked up, if that's even possible, and it would most probably void yer warranty.
good ram, stable, reliable, decent price for performance ratio, and to some, the looks will be a major +. The corners of the particle board on the side with the golden dragon coloring is where they put the leds, so they point torwards the cpu on a traditonal amd mainboard.

5 out of 5 eggsgood for a budget

Pros: no heatspreaders, good timings, doesn't need higher voltages. 8 gig.

Cons: don't need led's.

Other Thoughts: first time buyer of geil; usually opt for gskill or mushkin, but lower price of these had me trying them. set timings at 8-8-8-25-33 1T @ DDR3 1333 (667 MHz) running with athlon ii x2 640 propus cpu.

5 out of 5 eggsNo issues so far

Pros: Worked right out of the box at the stated settings. I haven't run any stress tests yet, but so far there are no issues. I am using these in a completely new computer (all parts just received within the week.)

Looks cool! Little red lights look sweet in my case.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: My mobo/CPU/GPU:

ASRock Extreme4 Gen3 Z68 mobo
i5 2500k

5 out of 5 eggsTough RAM

Pros: This RAM hold up fine in an older board, AM3 architecture. I'm building an AM3+ system with it also and expect good results. It's solid and stays cool without all the fancy heatsink junk. I see no point in overclocking RAM, so I don't do it but if I had too or wanted too, I expect this RAM would perform as solid as it does now. I'm very pleased with this product.

Cons: Absolutely none.

Other Thoughts: Holding up in a Gigabyte GA790XT-UD4P motherboard with an old Phenom II X3 720 overclocked to 3.3ghz on air. This RAM is a great investment.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far, so good...

Pros: Looks good with the black and gold dragon inlays, red LED's.
Good, solid performance and no BSOD's.
No fancy heat sinks, which may seem like a con to some, but this thing performs well and doesnt overheat, so why have them, they only get in the way of aftermarket CPU heatsinks. Plus like I said, these look great for those who like fancy RAM :P

Cons: I was worried about buying these as I have read numerous reviews online about how terrible the 4GB DDR3 Black Dragon set were, but so far so good. Although I'm still a little nervous as to ho long these will last.

Geil has been getting bad reviews lately...

Other Thoughts: Like I said, so far, so good. If these continue to perform the way they have been and last a long time, then this will be a great buy. Specially for those that need room for a big aftermarket CPU heatsink.
