2 out of 5 eggsWorked great, then died

This review is from: Rosewill FORTRESS-750 - 750-Watt Active PFC Power Supply - Continuous @ 122 Degrees F (50C), 80 PLUS Platinum, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS 12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire-Ready

Pros: Product worked great for about a month. very little noise unless the CPU was under heavy load, and used a lot less power than my old CPU when idle.

Cons: Unit failed after just over 2 months, and RMA procedure on the rosewill website is not particularly easy.

Other Thoughts: i paid a premium for this PSU compared to another similarly specced one of a different brand because i had bought a case made by Rosewill and it was really durable well-made. I'm hoping this one was a fluke but only time will tell.

4 out of 5 eggsRosewill Fortress-750

This review is from: Rosewill FORTRESS-750 - 750-Watt Active PFC Power Supply - Continuous @ 122 Degrees F (50C), 80 PLUS Platinum, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS 12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire-Ready

Pros: Seems to be a solid power supply. Quiet and heavy indicating quality.

Cons: The SATA connectors are terrible, and I was forced to use molex with adaptors to get my drives to work properly. These are the worst connectors I have ever run across in 15 years of building computers.

4 out of 5 eggs750W PSU

This review is from: Rosewill FORTRESS-750 - 750-Watt Active PFC Power Supply - Continuous @ 122 Degrees F (50C), 80 PLUS Platinum, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS 12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire-Ready

Pros: Easy install.
Plenty of plugs Molex and SATA.
Decent design.

Cons: Plugs just do not feel right when you plug into a drive it feels like the power is not plugged in correctly, but if you check the connection it is fine. I saw another review where a guy broke a power connector on a drive probably because of the feel of the connectors.

Other Thoughts: All in all not bad for the money and a 7 year warranty which I hope I don't need to use.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat replacement PS

This review is from: Rosewill FORTRESS-750 - 750-Watt Active PFC Power Supply - Continuous @ 122 Degrees F (50C), 80 PLUS Platinum, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS 12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire-Ready

Pros: Incredibly quiet. My tower used to be kind of loud, meaning I knew when it was running, but now I forget my computer is on unless I'm looking at it.

Cons: None really so far.

Other Thoughts: It would be kind of cool if the makers could change the design just a little so that you can remove the extra cables that might not be used in the individual builds. I have a few extra cables that I had to tie back and place elsewhere within the tower. Otherwise, great power supply.

Pros: Don't know much about power supplies, but I heard this one does just about everything. Very powerful and efficient.

Cons: It is pretty big so you might need some space in your computer to use it.

1 out of 5 eggsDead < 1 year. Poor Warranty Service

This review is from: Rosewill FORTRESS-750 - 750-Watt Active PFC Power Supply - Continuous @ 122 Degrees F (50C), 80 PLUS Platinum, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS 12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire-Ready

Pros: Great while it lasted. Low noise and plenty of power. Multiple wrapped connectors for cards and other devices.

Cons: I've had this PS in a gaming machine for a little over a year. It recently died with no warning.
One of the major reasons I purchased it was because of the long warranty (7 years). However, Rosewill doesn't honor warranties if the product isn't purchased directly from them (http://www.rosewill.com/support/Support_RMA.aspx), even if you register the product on their website.
The Rosewill support desk says you have to contact the retailer for a RMA. NewEgg support wasn't able to help because it was beyond the 30 day return period. So I have a new PS from a different manufacturer on order now.
If you're looking for a high priced PS that will last for about a year, then this is the one for you. If you want to purchase a PS from a company that stands behind their product and the warranty they advertise, then I suggest you look at the Cooler Master or Thermaltake models. They've got shorter warranties, but they're more likely to be honored if you need it.

Other Thoughts: As always great service and quick response from NewEgg.
