5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Graphics

Pros: Great Board, have had no problems at all, worked right out of the box. The high intensity games i play (Left 4 Dead, Crysis, Borderlands etc...) all play practically as high as I can go and games look fantastic. I get well over 40 FPS on all these games at high settings.

Cons: None so far. Does exactly what I need.

Other Thoughts: Great board for the price, not sure what paying $100 more would even get me. I have stressed this board as much as I can and have found no problems, easily the best board I have purchased.

1 out of 5 eggsworthless card

Pros: keep get black screen when i use 1600 by 1200 pixel after two month. when i lower the screen resolution, it will be ok. When i use the forward or back many times while watch the video file, the computer will automatic reboot.

Cons: So terrible and the cooling system is terrible, even i don't do any activity, the temperautre of this card above 50 C.

Other Thoughts: When i have black screen issue, i ask my friend who knows the computer hardware. It says that my video is like using 2-3 years... It is not like a new card that use a few months.

Manufacturer Response:

This card is capable of functioning at heats of up to about 90+ C, so 50 isn't a problem at all. GPUs aren't like CPUs, they are going to run hotter, even if they're just idling. I don't understand a lot of the rest of your problems, but I'm more than willing to help you get your problems resolved. I want you to be able to use this card to it's fullest capabilities. My -email is hugo@powercolor.com, feel free to contact me and I'll do my best to assist you. Thanks.

-Hugo

4 out of 5 eggsgreat card for the money

Pros: Great for the price. I bought this card for 160 and it was a good price then. i see one now for 130. Play metro2033 30fps+ Can't beat it.

Cons: A *little* more power would have been nice but hey again it's all about bang for the buck.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: It runs in windows just fine.

Cons: As soon as this card gets hot enough, the drivers speed up the fan. For some reason this causes the video card to crash and the recovery to kick in. You don't have to reboot, but whatever game you are playing crashes. Absolute garbage, would recommend this card to enemies.

Manufacturer Response:

How hard is the card getting? Feel free to e-mail me and I'll be more than happy to help you out. The fan will speed up to help compensate for the added heat, yes, but this shouldn't cause the card to crash. My e-mail is hugo@powercolor.com, thanks.

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Good card for a budget system. Works well in Windows XP. The card was packaged well and each connector on the back had a protective cover.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I'm thinking of using two of them in a CrossFire setup.

3 out of 5 eggsGood card, bad cooling

Pros: Plays many graphics intensive game fine
1GB of GDDR5 rated 1250mhzx4, enough for all games except a few at super high res.
Slightly overclocked core
Small card means it will fit in any case.
Quiet

Cons: horrible cooling system, absolutely not 'professional cooling system', even reference version has heatpipes, this does not.
idles at 50C, gets over 80C in furmark and rising, didn't dare to go further.
No memory heatsinks, all naked, even the power regulator mosfets are naked, these things can get very hot.

So that 'Professional' is worse than your reference cooling system, what a misnomer.

Other Thoughts: Slapped a Arctic cooling Accelero S1 (with some modding), put the original fan on it, then it idles at 40, max 60C at furmark, and added some memory sinks and a heatsink on the mosfets, happy now.

1 out of 5 eggsBad drivers

Pros: quite card, lots of video outputs

Cons: Worked fine for the first two weeks, then randomly driver crash while listening to MP3s. Problem continued to get worse over the last week. A quick Google searched turned up lots of problems with windows7 64bit and ATI driver crashed and restarted error. This happens on all games.

Other Thoughts: I could not find a user forum on Powercolor's website.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card for widescreen gaming

Pros: Better than running SLI. I have a mid tower case and wasn't sure if running two GTX260's would fit so I could have WS Gaming. The 5770 is a ton shorter than the 260. Also, it only requires 1 PCI-X 6 power supply compared to 2 for the 260.

Cons: None as of yet. Still pushing the limits

Other Thoughts: If you don't want to spend a ton of money to get 3 1680 X 1050 22 in screens gaming then this is the card. Don't forget to get a display port adapter. It is fine with a VGA for $24. The DVI adapter is close to $100.

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Cheap and fast for the price. Good bargain card for intermediate use/Gaming. Works well in Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.04 (even in crossfire mode).

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Bought one of these a month ago for my father and he liked it so much we decided to get another and crossfire them. Its fast and snappy, he has commented on the speed and the color/resolution improvement several times now.

A good value

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Quieter than expected. I am utilizing three monitors at 1680x1050 without issue. Make sure to get a displayport compliant monitor or an active adapter if using a third monitor. A passive adapter will work if using 1 or 2.

The card is quite short compared to most modern video cards.

Price for power is excellent.

Cons: none worth mentioning

Other Thoughts: I bought first for my wifes computer, then liked it enough to buy one for mine. I am leaving it at stock. I don't have much reason to overclock at this point. If I wanted a faster card I would just buy the 5850.
