Other Thoughts: Being an agp card for older systems, you won't be able to use this card to its full potential. I replaced an old geforce 6800 with this card and got barely anything out of it. Still get a whole 10 fps in games, but that is due to a p4 3.0 Prescott socket 478 on an ancient mobo that only uses DDR ram. So in other words, this card is a ton a better than the slot it goes in. Your system wont see much of an upgrade because the system itself can't keep up.

Pros: This is a great card! I can now play Crysis with a smooth frame rate on very high @1280x1024. I was also able to overclock the GPU to 3870 speeds with load temps lower than an 8800GT's idle temps.

Cons: I tried Windows 7 Beta with it and 7 didn't see it. That's not the cards fault though, 7 is just a Beta after all.

Other Thoughts: System: Intel E2220 @ 2.95Ghz, 2 GB DDR 400, ASRock VSTA Dual 775 motherboard, 3850 AGP

Pros: 1. Fast! -- Tripled my framerate in Crysis and other benchmarks
2. Comes with a power adapter cable -- four pin to six pin PCI express, crucial if you have an older PS
3. Comes with a VGA to DVI adapter, a must if you have an older monitor without a DVI input
3. Cooling fan seems more than adequate -- I must have a noisy system b/c I noticed no appreciable increase in fan noise

Cons: 1. The card is very long -- make sure you have enough room in your case
2. You should have a good power supply -- I've had good luck with a 450W Thermaltake
3. No other cons!

Other Thoughts: Installation of this card will allow my aging AGP P4 3.2 GHz system to keep up with (for a little while) the latest game titles. It certainly was worth the upgrade to hold off replacing all of my components.

A word of advice on installation -- my system previously had an Nvidia based card. I uninstalled the drivers and used a wipe utility. After installing the ATI 3850 AGP, my system would simply bluescreen after displaying the desktop. My workaround was to boot into safe mode and install the drivers that came on the provided CD.

To update the drivers to the latest, download ATI's hotfix from their website. You will have to dig for it a bit, but then you will have the lastest certified drivers.

This is my first ATI product, and I am impressed!

Pros: Bought the open box (copper cooler & faster ram speed) and have been very pleased. Fastest AGP solution has extended the life of a 6 yr old Athlon XP system. (First upgrade since the then groundbreaking ATI 9700Pro.) In my case, framerates are limited by the cpu, but even with CPU limitations, this card can deliver all the eye-candy at HD resolutions.

Cons: No true 'cons', but see 'other thoughts'...

Other Thoughts: AMD/ATI AGP Hotfix drivers are not as easy to locate as the regular drivers, but they are available.

With the 8.10 - 12 drivers, there is a strange problem with Athlon XP (Socket A) CPUs with a real frequency over 1900MHz which will cause bsods trying to use sse2 instructions that are not supported by the cpu. There is a fix available... google is your friend.

Pros: First to start, this card is probably the fastest card you can buy for the AGP bus and it is remarkably quick in games and on synthetic tests. The card doesn't get too hot with the cooler that it came with however...

Cons: The card is listed as a -P model which Powercolor has listed on thier webpage with a COPPER cooler. This card is also listed as being clocked higher than the card that was sent to me. The pictures shown on Newegg.com's webpage show the actual card they ship however if you compare it to Powercolor's -P model they are clearly different.

Also at issue is the driver problems. ATI/AMD does not support the AGP bus for this card with thier latest drivers. I had to hack the latest drivers to make them work with this card. While they do improve performance over the drivers that shipped with the card it's an extreme hassle to do this with each driver release.

Other Thoughts: Newegg.com needs to re-label thier page on this item and remove the -P from it.

Pros: Milks that last ounce of energy out of your aging AGP system.

Once you finally get past the driver installation hassle, runs nice and smooth and has lots of nice options for display settings on my 50" plasma that I didn't get with my old 9800 PRO.

Supports audio through the HDMI channel. You MUST buy ATI's DVI-HDMI adapter, though. Don't bother with your own because it won't work (I already tried).

Cons: Beware that if you want to install 64-bit drivers for this one, you won't find them at either ATI or PowerColor's site. The drivers at ATI's site are listed for PCIe only and there are no 64-bit Vista drivers at PowerColor's site. I ended up downloading from techpowerup.com. There is also an issue once you find the right drivers of the driver install hanging halfway through. After some major head banging and attempts to install different driver packages I downloaded from the Net, I finally found the right combination of one driver package followed by a hotfix package that worked. So if you are installing on a 64-bit system, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Other Thoughts: Reviews on the Internet indicated that this card was likely the best value you could find for your old AGP system, that probably isn't capable of utilizing any more power than what this card offers. We had been playing Supreme Commander on our 64-bit Athlon 2800+, but had to play at lowest detail on our old 9800 PRO. With this card, we can bump up the detail a fair amount without losing any frames. Wahoo!

Pros: Against others recommendations, I still bought this card for aging AGP system. I dont regret it. Easy to install. Just load and go after that. It replaced a 7600GS, really surprised that ATI would come out with a new card when Nvidia would not. Had two 7600GT that failed and the GS wouldn't cut it. Thanks ATI, first card I ever bought from them. Running two CRT monitors with it. Games are much smoother now, and can play newer titles too.

Other Thoughts: I used the 8.1 Catalyst drivers, then loaded the agp hotfix, which told me I was loading older drivers on top of new ones. Didnt like that so I shut down and rebooted, reloaded same driver, left it like that and working ever since. To top it off I just love that big honkin' fan.

Pros: I don't know yet because I have not opened the shrink wrap.

Cons: Newegg is intentionally committing Fraud and Bait/Switch on their customers with this product!!! (see other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: The card is advertised as the "-P" version and even says "Zerotherm Copper Cooler" in big red letters. I received a card with the "-P" HAND WRITTEN at the end of the part number. The shrink wrap was broken over that label so someone could write the "-P" on the label. Being suspicious I called Powercolor and asked if the serial number on the box was actually a "-P" card. They said NO, it was the standard card with black cooler.

After much email dialogue and a phone call to Newegg I found out Newegg does NOT EVEN STOCK the copper cooler card at all. On multiple occasions I notified them of the big red letters on the webpage "Copper Cooler". Yet they STILL have not changed the description. They are waiting to suck in more targets with their fraudulent game.

My confidence in Newegg as a supplier is gone.

Hopefully Powercolor will be able to help me.

Cons: THE HEATSINK MATERIAL THAT I RECEIVED WASNT COPPER! I WOULDNT EVEN CALL IT ALUMINUM!! I WOULD SAY ITS SOME CHEAP PLASTIC MATERIAL!!!! also it ran very hot! 70 c under load! i think that it wasnt powered properly thou. maybe not! i know that do do material didnt help at all!!! also drivers are big problem! see my other review!

Pros: extremely fast and the best that u can buy agp! all games i have are maxed out all the way including left 4 dead, c&c red alert 3, unreal tournament 3, and cod 4 at a resolution of 1440x900

Cons: faster then your processor so u cant utilize to its max. DRIVERS!!! DRIVERS!! DID I MENTION DRIVERS!!!! no matter what u install first or what all drivers wont work atleast for me. not the hotfix or omega or catalist. the last three revisions i tried on all of them and still a no go! i think that if anyone who owns this card goes into administrative tools/computer management/system tools/event viewer/system they would all see logged errors from ati2mtag. all of the games that i named will crash afer a few hours! ALSO FAR CRY 2 WONT WORK AT ALL!!!!

Other Thoughts: great peice of hardware!! do do FOR DRIVERS!! i would recommend this card for a gamer and hope that they come out wit a driver to fix it!
