2 out of 5 eggsWorks but doesn't at the same time

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Games ran smooth and everything worked but I ran into a couple hiccups.

Cons: I've had a couple problems with this card, now I'm not too sure what the problem is but when I first plugged this thing in, I was getting no signal from the GPU to the monitor (in the x16 slot), but then I tried it into the X4 slot and had no problems. Another thing to mention is that there was this weird beeping sound when I started up my PC, I do have a sufficient power supply for this (700w). Also, just recently my PC crashed while playing Crysis 3 and the same beeping sound came back from the GPU. I can tell it was a beeping sound concerning the GPU because when I used my old one to test, no more beeping. Right now It's up and running in the x16 slot but I'm thinking about RMA'ing because I don't want to run into these instability issues. Maybe I'm just unlucky and got a bad unit, not sure.

Other Thoughts: This is my first Gigabyte product and I was impressive by the cooling and the aesthetics but It's kind of annoying getting a maybe defective unit after waiting. I'll definitely try to figure this out and see if I can get it fixed.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressive

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: I've had this card for a while now and it handles almost everything I can throw at it. It's almost hard to beat as it has good cooling, and is one of the best price and performance ratio I've seen. Great card.

Cons: Huge this thing is big, not going to lie. Make sure it'll fit in your case. But it's size isn't worth marking an egg down.

Cons: Could run quieter but when playing games the noise coming from the PS isn't able to be heard
Very large card but when matched with my NZXT Tempest 410 Elite case, it isn't a problem.

2 out of 5 eggsDefective

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Came with 2 free games. Has good specs for the price.

Cons: Just got the graphics card. I installed the card correctly, but when I started up the computer it didn't work. I thought that was funny, so I looked at the requirements for the graphics card and I saw that I met every requirement. I then installed the drivers and then installed the graphics card again. Still nothing. I just issued an RMA and hopefully the next one won't be defective. Wish me luck.

Be sure to hook up the 2X 6-Pin PCIe powers to the card.

The monitor should be connected to the card insted of onboard graphics.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: This card has run everything so far that I have thrown at it. I play a lot of video games and I can now set them all to ultra with this card. I also have two monitors hooked up to it currently and the thing never heats up, I have never seen this card run above 30 C. Great value for my low-budget PC.

Cons: This thing is stupidly huge. This isn't a problem for anybody with a full tower but you might have trouble running it in a mid or smaller. The only other problem is that I can't find the power usage and had to overestimate when buying my PSU.

Other Thoughts: This card made up almost a third the cost of my whole machine but it's worth it because this thing owns.

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: This card is able to play everything I have on ultra settings. I have played LoL, WoW, Tera, Battlefield 4, and Wildstar on this card as well as watched multiple blueray movies and everything has excellent quality. For a budget gaming pc you cant pass this up.

Cons: I haven't found any cons as of yet.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good Card

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: This card seems to perform well. A little overclocked from the stock version. It has been able to run anything I threw at it a at the highest settings.

Cons: Good performance improvements, but not a really significant change over the prior generation.

Other Thoughts: This card is not really new but updated. It is a good card with good value, just not revolutionary. It is essentially the HD 7870 with some performance enhancements. It includes upgraded memory and a GPU boost clock. This particular one is also factory overclocked a little. It benchmarks just short of a HD 7950. That is a pretty good jump over it's slower version, the R9 270 (Without the "X") that performs pretty much even with the HD 7870 this one is based on.

2 out of 5 eggsdoes not support 27" LED CINEMA

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: decent card

Cons: does not support my 27" monitor stuck at 1280x720

1. Be sure the graphics driver is installed for the video card.

2. Are you using any video adapter?

3. What is the max resolution of the monitor?

2 out of 5 eggsNever buying AMD again

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: It worked great for a time. It ran everything on ultra settings fine for about 3 months.

Cons: After about 4 months of owning the card I can't play ten minutes of most new games without it crashing. I have tried everything short of wiping my hardrive to fix it but It hasn't had any success. I am incredibly disappointed in this product and it has caused me a bunch of stress. It is just a dream killing drag when you spend a whole bunch of money on building a pc and some bugged card ruins the whole experience for you.

Other Thoughts: Save your money and don't buy the cheap stuff.
