Tailor made to hit the gamers’ sweet spot, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 delivers revolutionary levels of price/performance. With up to 4x the DirectX 11 tessellation performance of the competition, GeForce GTX 460 packs highly detailed visuals into your games - without sacrificing high frame rates. And with NVIDIA 3D Vision, PhysX, and CUDA technologies, GeForce GTX 460 powers all the incredibly realistic effects that your games can throw its way. Best of all, Gigabyte engineers have developed Ultra Durable VGA and WINFORCE 2X cooling technology on their GV-N460 series for better cooling, efficiency and performance.

  • newegg Ultra Durable VGA (UDV) Gigabyte’s UDV board employs high quality components including 2 oz Copper PCB, 1st tier memory, Japanese solid capacitors, ferrite core chokes and lower RDS (on) MOSFET, resulting in 5% - 10% lower GPU temperature, 10%~30% better overclocking capability and 10%~30% less power switching loss.
  • newegg WINDFORCETM 2X: Anti-turbulence Cooling The special inclined dual fan design effectively minimizes the flow of turbulence between two fans and enhances heat dissipation of hot area right underneath each fan. By unique design, WINDFORCE 2X even enlarges air channel on the graphics card vents and creates a more effective air flow system in chassis. This special design helps heat dissipate quickly from GPU. In addition, WINDFORCETM 2X is equipped with 2 copper heat-pipes which strengthen the speed of heat dissipation.
  • newegg Full Microsoft DirectX 11 Support The new DirectX 11 GPU with full Shader Model 5.0, DirectCompute 11 and tessellation support delivers unparalleled levels of graphics realism and film-quality effects.
  • newegg NVIDIA PhysX Technology NVIDIA PhysX technology enables a totally new class of physical gaming interaction for a more dynamic and realistic experience.
  • newegg NVIDIA CUDA Technology CUDA technology unlocks the power of the GPU’s processor cores to accelerate the most demanding tasks such as video transcoding, physics simulation, ray tracing, and more, delivering incredible performance improvements over traditional CPUs. The CUDA technology has already been adopted by thousands of programmers to speed up those performance hungry computing applications.
  • newegg NVIDIA 3D Vision, 3D Vision Surround and SLI Ready NVIDIA 3D Vision brings a fully immersive stereoscopic 3D experience to the PC. Expand your games across three displays in full stereoscopic 3D for the ultimate “inside the game” experience with the power of NVIDIA 3D Vision and SLI technologies. SLI technology delivers up to 2X the performance of a single GPU configuration for unparalleled gaming experiences by allowing two graphics cards to run in parallel.

5 out of 5 eggs2.5 Years Later

Pros: I have two of these in SLI and I love the performance for gaming at 1920x1080. They have played every game I have thrown at them at the highest settings.

Cons: Not a Con really, but after 2.5 years of use I am thinking of retiring them for something that can handle an upgrade to 2560x1440 or 5760x1080 gaming

5 out of 5 eggsI love this card

Pros: I've loved this card from the day I bought it. For 180$ you really can't ask for much more of it. I was able to run Far Cry 3 in 1080p with high settings, and no visible stuttering at all. For a Card that I bought two years ago for less than 200$ its been killing it!

Cons: Does get hot while I play games, use to get up to 72C but now that I've created more airflow in my case i can keep it bellow 55C.

Other Thoughts: I feel bad for those who missed out on this steal of a deal!

5 out of 5 eggsWorth every penny

Pros: I bought 2 of these back in 2010 and for SLI. No game I ever put up to them even today so much as made a hiccup in performance and I always max all settings.

Cons: I put two of these in a mid tower and I've had heating issues. Nothing catastrophic but they can get up above 70 C during the summer which a little high for my tastes.

Other Thoughts: Glad I picked these up back in 2010 and with two these in SLI you can still run any game even from today's standards at max settings...provided you don't have any other bottlenecks.
I'm switching over to AMD Radeon for my next build to give them a try and they have a lot to live up to after using these 460's for 2 years.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: With an Intel 950, I still play all games at the highest settings with no FPS problems. I've played BF3, Borderlands 2, and it barely raises the fan speed.

Cons: None. At MOST I may SLI another card in the future, but I highly doubt it.

5 out of 5 eggsMP final update

Pros: Still running strong after 2 years. I encode video, convert video and play all the latest video games (Skyrim, SWTOR, ect) and this video card has been a beast.

Encoding and coverting videos, when the Cuda cores take over in the applications I use, is extremely fast.

Cons: I have seen artifacts here and there. Most of the time I see those is because I am running an old video driver (6 months or more). I usually update the nvidea drivers and I don't have anymore problems.

Other Thoughts: I've read almost all the reviews on this card on newegg. I know people aren't lying about it, or at least some people. Anyway, I believe Gigabyte must have contracted a cheap Asian company to make some of the chips inside this card. That's the ultimate reason behind the failures people are seeing.

I hope Gigabyte learns from this. Other than that, I was a lucky one. I've had no issues and still have no reason to update my card. Well worth the 180$ I originally spent. Cheers.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed at 60°C, Very Disappointed with Gigabyte

Pros: So frustrating it makes you stop playing computer games, so you would spend the time to get engaged and get married.

Cons: Everything runs just fine untill the card hit 60°C, then it crashes non stop.

Other Thoughts: Just very disappointed with Gigabyte, I have been buying Gigabyte for a looong time and it never fails. it hurts me to write a negative review on them.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked fine for 1 year

Pros: Was a good deal at the time for Fermi cards so I bought 2.

Cons: Both cards worked great for about a year. Then both started squealing, artifacting and both failed. These cards ran extremely hot which is what causes their premature death.

Both cards were used in the same system and were not manhandled, dropped, OC'd or tampered with. Yet when it comes time to have Gigabyte step up and cover them under warranty I get a response that 1 card failed due to physical damage. The pcb was off and the pads were popped off.

The other is repairable, great, 1 card doesn't do me any good.

Other Thoughts: I'm not happy with Gigabyte right now and I've been a supporter of their products for some time now. It's time for Gigabyte to step up to the plate and honor their warranty and replace these defective cards.
