EVGA X58 SLI LE Review
- Pros: Board is high quality, BIOS is simple to use, making over clocking easy. Board is all black, looks good inside case. SATA ports are facing the right, so they're easy to access and not blocked by a video card.
- Cons: Board layout isn't good. PCI Express 1x is blocked if a Video Card occupies two expansion slots. Slot should have been above PCI E1x slot.
- Other Thoughts: Excellent board to use for the price if on a budget to build an i7 machine of quality.
The Mother of Boards
- Pros: This motherboard hasn't provided me any issues yet. I'm running Windows 7, with a 1.5 tb hdd, i7, 6gb ram, 650 w psu, and a 5870. This machine screams without any stutters. It helps even more that the BIOS allows me to overclock very easily. There is a whole menu dedicated to it.
- Cons: The attachment for the Heat Sink requires you to clip in, and not screw in. Something I didn't plan for. A simple bracket that went under the motherboard (Had to buy separately) fixed this issue.
- Other Thoughts: Awesome mobo, no issues with it so far. *Knocks on wood*
Love this board
- Pros: Everything worked right out of the box. Very easy to customize from the boot menu. The utility software provided is not bad either. I also find the forums to be quite helpful.
- Cons: Post. Posting takes way way way way too long. Also does not detect my corsair xms3 ddr3 tri channel 1600 as 1600 and rather 1333. There are also some issues with placement on the board. I dont think the layout of where wires are going to be run and aesthetics were well thought out.
- Other Thoughts: All in all I am satisfied with my purchase. I saw a few reviews that worry me about customer service. Though sometimes people just post stuff in hopes of getting their way. I guess I will cross that bridge when I get to it. I have an EVGA 9800GTX+ as well and have not had any issues. So far my opinion of them as a company is a good one.
