Quality Workmanship
- Pros: Best motherboard I've ever owned. A great way to stick with the company with the best customer support and get rid of those nasty Nvidia based boards. It comes with a provided EVGA software which helps fine tune your cpu and overclock it outside of the bios. Buyers are guaranteed a 90 day step up period (whether or not that will apply to the Nforce 200 X58 is still up in the air according to EVGA). One of the best parts of this board is that I can finally use that Creative X-fi sound card I've had for the past year without the issues that plagued it on Nvidia boards. This board is on par quality wise with the ASUS Rampage II Extreme, the advantage to the ASUS board being you get a X-fi PCIe card with it (but it's a software emulation card) but EVGA has much better customer support and forums than ASUS. Well done EVGA.
- Cons: Board runs the PCIe 2.0 lanes at 16x16 or 16x8x8. Next months release of EVGA's nforce 200 equipped X58 will run them at 16x16x16. Although currently it doesn't matter as x8 on a PCIe 2.0 lane yields the same performance that it would on a x16 lane. Future video cards will show performance differences (but by the time those arrive you'll probably be in the market for a newer motherboard).
- Other Thoughts: The board supports 800Mhz/1066Mhz/1333Mhz RAM and will support 1600Mhz RAM in a later BIOS update. You can run 1600Mhz RAM by overclocking your cpu. Board runs everything amazingly well - Core i7 940 @ 3.96Ghz, SLI GTX 280 SSC, 6GB Corsair Dominator 1600Mhz RAM, Vista 64bit.

Manufacturer Response:Thanks for the review! For anyone who is interested in an EVGA X58 overclocking guide, please see the following link: http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=642527 Thanks, Jacob
EVGA = WIN
- Pros: To avoid issues, I flashed the board the minute I booted with no issues.
Layout of board is good, and made good cable management a breeze.
Board comes with very good array of necessary peripherals.
- Cons: Manual offers no RAID help. States 2 ports as RAID ready(RED). These 2 JMicron ports were a nightmare to work with. If trying to RAID, be sure to USE THE BLACK INTEL BASED sata ports as the Intel RAID setup and drivers work flawlessly.
Drivers and Utilites disc came with 2 large(1" length) cracks, and failed to run miserably... Not an issue with the board though.
- Other Thoughts: I recommend flashing your BIOS off the bat as I did.
For those interested, quick RAID guide: 1. Attach drives to BLACK ports 2. BIOS > Integrated Periphs > Onboard SATA/PATA > Sata Mode = RAID 3. Reboot > Ctrl+I > setup your RAID 4. Install OS using Intel RAID drivers
After that, it's smooth.
Came off an EVGA 680i board which still serves without issue for nearly 2 years. Still run SLI'd EVGA 8800GTS SSC's. I buy anything I can EVGA due to outstanding quality and support.

Best Motherboard and BIOS i have ever used
- Pros: One of the best MOBO's for the price range. Bios has a lot of OC'ing features. And one of the best things you can compliment on a mother board is if it WORKS. If you have a window its got a nice LCD temperature display of your CPU on the bottom right.
- Cons: If you are going to buy and aftermarket heat sink you MUST do a lot of research due to the proximity of the capacitors. I purchased 2 before i found one that fit (TRUE BLACK 120) in that small space between the Northbridge cooler and the Ram Sticks. Though most after market HS's you buy for a Core I7 are going to be very large and this MOBO does not accommodate for all of them.
- Other Thoughts: Still a great buy just read up a bit before you purchase Heatsinks.
Excellent Support from EVGA
- Pros: EVGA, quality as usual.
- Cons: Could be cheaper I guess.
- Other Thoughts: I had a little problem installing my i7 920 on this mobo, called EVGA support, talked to someone almost immediately (and from the states to boot). It was user error, I didn't have the cpu set correctly (this was my first build). Also, the forums on EVGA are really helpful. I won't buy any other brand of mobo/video card.
- Pros: No doubt this board is great. You can run duel graphics cards @ 16x16.
Running a i7 920 @ 4ghz.
- Cons: The northbridge fan rattles. This was driving me INSANE..... I put some tape on it and it stopped...
The 8 pin cpu power plug location is too close to the VRM heatsink
