5 out of 5 eggsAwesomeness

Pros: This motherboard is stable, cheap and reliable. BIOS is really good, and you might be able to download newest bios and perform some overclock (dont expect much as it is an h61 motherboard).

Cons: No USB 3.0 but that is expected, which 4 pin was next to 24 pin.

Other Thoughts: Only two fan headers, might be enough for some itx systems.

5 out of 5 eggsReasonable price

Pros: Saw good review and reasonable price, give it a whirl, so far so good. Works with CentOS 6.5 as NFS server. 8GB of RAM and 4-SATA 2TB drive running RAID-6. dd if=/dev/zero of=/tmp/file.out b s=1G count=1 resulted in 1GB/s. As long as you got memory and enough NFS processes going.

Cons: Haven't seen any.

Other Thoughts: I edited block size count in the "pro" section because newegg thought that's a "bad" word, sheesh...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little board

Pros: Cheap, small, works great. Paired with a GT640 card, SSD, and i3-3240 for a portable gaming rig.

Cons: None apart from inherent limits due to its form factor (few expansion slots).

5 out of 5 eggsSolid board, great value

Pros: I have two of these little boards running Ubuntu 12.04 and they work reliably and efficiently. This is not a state of the art board (no USB 3.0, for example), and the very reasonable price reflects that. But it is a great value because everything works properly within its design parameters. Booted right up first time, recognize DDR31600 mhz memory 8 gigs, works with solid state drive, and both boards have run problem free for months.

Cons: Haven't found any for its price point and class.

Other Thoughts: A no brainer selection if you don't need ultimate speed or state of the art.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved;
Remove the mainboard from chassis, place it on mainboard’s box
Clear the CMOS.
Check the mainboard’s CPU socket contact pins are normal (should be pointing same way and pattern)
Reseat the CPU with heatsink fan as well if socket pins are normal
Test with single memory module (non-ECC, un-buffered)
Test with onboard VGA (CPU with iGPU supported or test with VGA card)
Plug the 24 pins + 4 pins ATX power
Plug the chassis power switch to mainboard, and try again
If you have any technical issues or warranty questions please contact us at We will assist you shortly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The board may be small, but it's actually fairly easy to get around. And I have big hands! The layout is decent. Placement of the SATA ports confused me at first, but they are in a very easy-to-access place. I'm using the on-CPU video, but this board does have a PCI-E slot for a discrete video card. When I powered it on for the first time, I was able to get into the BIOS setup program with either F12 OR Delete (really a nice feature, takes the guesswork out), and the setup program is very straightforward and easy to navigate through. Had no issues installing the processor or RAM.

Cons: I would really like to see this board made without legacy ports (PS/2 mouse and keyboard, specifically) in the back, and more USB ports instead.

Other Thoughts: I don't have any USB 3.0 devices, so the lack of USB 3.0 doesn't bother me. It would probably make a bigger difference if I had a USB 3.0 hard drive dock or something.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: I'm impressed with this board, went together with out a hitch and right fired up. The UEFI is a nice, none complicated interface which is hassle free, very nice.
Built this for a HTPC, and couldn't be happier. For the price you can't go wrong.
This is the first ASROCK board I've used, amazed at the quality, just a very nice and well built board. This thing Rocks. Win exp. 6.3

Cons: None that I have experienced

Other Thoughts: Silverstone SG05

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Intel ITX Board

Pros: I'm going to keep this review short and sweet. For the money the value is hard to beat solid state caps for longer board life, supports relatively low power CPU's up to higher end LGA 1155 CPU's. I built this to replace an AMD E-450 build that was solid but just a bit under powered for my Virtualbox sessions to support customers on. I went with an Antec ISK 300-150 case which has 150watt PSU enough to have just enough overhead to run clean and small and tight, I almost went with their ultra SFF case but decided I wanted just a bit more space and an internal PSU. No problems using the stock Intel cooler, system performs very well even given the weak power of the integrated GPU. Paired with an SSD the system screams for regular business tasks using the Intel Celeron G1610. For HTPC purposes this has enough power to handle HD video and productivity apps with ease. Were talking 90$ for a CPU/MB that has plenty of performance for everything but gaming. The G1610 CPUScores 2543 on CPU Marks; again modest but plenty of power for the average user. Mainboard required little customization, BIOS menus were easy to navigate and I had no problems loading up Win7 home premium on an external slim drive. All in All the motherboard is fantastic, nothing too fancy at this price point, no USB 3.0 but enough features to make the small system builders like me very happy. My recommendation is for HTPC builds pair this board with an Intel CPU with integrated graphics capability and your set. Just pick the CPU and PSU/Case that fills your needs along with this board and you are set.

Cons: No USB 3.0 and could use more USB headers on back of board but at this price not a biggie.

Other Thoughts: As a sidebar; I would like to see Intel work on greater performance of their integrated GPU's however the bang for your dollar cant be beat on a ITX build like this. This motherboard is an outstanding value and should sway some AMD system builders back to the Intel camp for its price/performance ratio.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Wide CPU & memory compatibility; PCIe 16x slot;

Cons: Board itself is very giving beneath pressure, i.e. inserting memory, expansion, power and CPU cooler. The flex of the board was somewhat disconcerting. No USB3, but it's a low end older chipset so it's expected. RMA process is not as smooth as other companies.

Other Thoughts: It's a 4/5 b/c while ASrock's RMA process was a bit antiquated they did correct the problem. After determining the first board had an issue, the RMA process left something to be desired. RMA was not quick or easy and definitely was on the old school side. It's not a high end board and lacks many smaller features to use as comparison. If I were to go back I'd choose another mini-ITX B75 board. The H61 is much too frugal by comparison, even as a media center.
