4 out of 5 eggsSolid board.

Pros: Good board, has everything you need for the price range.

Cons: Lacks some higher end features that other boards might have.

4 out of 5 eggsLasted 2 and 1/2 years.

Pros: My board lasted from Dec. 2013 and just went dead last week. Everyday use of power computing (Gaming, Video editing, etc.)

Cons: Died after 2 1/2 years

Other Thoughts: Rare overclock use. usually on stock 3.4 and never overclocked above 4.0

5 out of 5 eggsOlder product, but it works!

Pros: Everything is working as expected. Gives an aging system one last hurrah!
No surprise on the board. Included driver CD got me up and running efficiently. Nice standard layout. Love VirtuMVP, will suffice until I do a complete upgrade after Skylake and DirectX 12 goes into full swing.
Recognized all my components:
Xeon E3-1235
G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
ASUS STRIX-GTX960
Corsair Force Series 60GB SSD
Windows 7 HP

Cons: Minor gripe at most, but I'm not a fan of the way the SATA connectors are arranged. They face into each other, and I prefer all the connecters to be facing the same direction. But the ports work, so not worth docking the score

Other Thoughts: This board is actually replacing the Z77 version for me that shorted out after an unfortunate alcohol-related incident. Thankfully, most everything else survived.
Initially concerned when my original hard drive of choice (WD Black2 Dual Drive) was not recognized in BIOS, but found out shortly it wouldn't power up anyway. Disappointing for a brand new drive, but that's not the motherboard's fault.
I can't say I'm initially noticing anything worth missing about in this "step down" board.

1 out of 5 eggsDead after 3 months

Pros: Specwise this is a good all around motherboard.

Cons: After 2 months, started having intermittent lockups. At roughly the three month mark, complete failure. No boot. All components work fine on another motherboard. Hoping Asrock support will take care of this.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Mobo

Pros: Awesome board for the price. PCI x16 3.0 being included as well was excellent.

Cons: The front panel connector pins being 100% different than every other brand threw me off for a brief moment. Unfortunately had to use the manual (that supposed to be a joke)

Other Thoughts: Purchased this board for a friend of mine that had a i5 sandy bridge cpu laying around. First gaming machine for him and he was satisfied. Was also my first time using an ASRock Mother board. Very nice.

1 out of 5 eggsWont power up

Pros: About the only standard atx board you can buy new.

Cons: fails to power up at all now after only having it about 3 months. tested the new power supply I bought with the board its showing good. Not happy have to spend a bunch of time tearing this board back out

Other Thoughts: I bought this board because you cant find many new atx board with a 1155 socket.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but keep an eye out for bloatware.

Pros: Decent motherboard.
Feels sturdy.
Lots of slots.

No more bendy PCI-E lock! This motherboard has a slide locking feature, so you don't have to worry about the stupid bendy thing snapping off as it gets old with the motherboard.

Supports the iGPU with sandy bridge CPUs on Windows XP while simultaneously running a dedicated GPU. I run two monitors off my GPU, and a third from the iGPU with ease.

The BIOS isn't "pretty" or "flashy" or "gamer-ish" like some other motherboards but I actually prefer the more simple layouts. I don't like the speedometer style for anything computer related so I like the BIOS on this board.

Cons: The driver CD has some bloatware you might accidentally install if you use use the auto install feature.

Other Thoughts: My old MSI P67A-C43 (B3) died, this was the replacement.
I'm enjoying this motherboard more than the last. I hope this one lasts me longer.

2 out of 5 eggsWeak Sodering/contamination

Pros: Decent board for its cost, good spacing for Large Graphics cards, good northbridge for fast transport with its X fast technology.

overal seems like a stable board though at second glance looks and feels very cheap.

Cons: i bought this board brand new at a pc store that specializes industrial computing, they sold boards for gaming and casual pc too.

Now to the Point, after a year of use board started to act spastic to the point were it arced and fried everything on the motherboard and my two hard drives.

as i examined it i noticed white powder deposits on the soldering were the PCI-e cards are located, there is contamination on the board during the manufacturing it seems, case is clean but noticed the poor quality of the soldering joints on the board seen some capacitor solder points showing some calcium or chlorine product on the board which after a wile corrode the joints and break.

the board wrecked my gaming build as it surged so i lost my i5 3560K, Gigabyte gtx 560ti, two Seagate 500Gb hdd's, intel dual port gigabit lan, and the external Hdd that was connected at the time. total of 1657.87$ damage from a contaminated motherboard.

Other Thoughts: if you buy this board, buy it from a store that will allow you to look at its soldering points at the back if you see any residue turn it down please it will save your wallet in the long run.

alot of folks fuss about the parts ON the board but yet neglect to look at the key point were the soldering is at the back of the board which holds the parts down.

do keep a close eye on boards quality folks, AsRock is not the only company that makes these mistakes.

4 out of 5 eggsMOBO review

Pros: I really like the bios interface on this mobo really easy to use and love that I can use my mouse in it. I believe that most motherboards now days have that capability not too sure. Also I installed a cpu cooler and it stays at a nice cool 25 degrees Celsius (70F) while on my old mobo the cooler only cooled my cpu from 170F (while gaming) down to 150F with cooler on which is pretty bad.

Cons: will list when this one craps out. But hopefully it wont.

2 out of 5 eggsHuge Headache

Pros: When it works, it works great! Has a good amount of features and the price was low for what it had.

Cons: You get the quality you pay for. Motherboard died within 2 months. Complete failure.

Other Thoughts: This was meant as a cheap replacement for my old motherboard. Go for a higher quality board, it will save you money, and headaches.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

Sorry to hear that the mainboard has malfunctioned after 2 months which’s due to nature of electronic product, it can happen.
We will be more than happy to resolve the mainboard issue.

Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved.
Turn the power off.
Clear the CMOS.
Test with single memory module.
Remove the VGA card to test with onboard video (CPU with iGPU/APU or test with VGA card).
