5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: out standing options it works great

Cons: Im glad I had a 2nd computer to look up the manual and docs. It wont boot to HDMI, I had to use the dvi with a converter then install the drivers for the HDMI to work. then no sound, i had to manually go to setting to change it from hd audio to HDMI audio output, which should have been automatic in my opinion. But the nit picking aside this is an outstanding mobo

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Nvidia 9300 IGP Mobo

Pros: - Nvidia GeForce 9300 Integrated Graphics!
- Decent memory compatibility
- Low power requirements
- No significant issues

Cons: Three Issues:

1. The IGP chip gets HOT!!! Originally, 57 - 60F in 69F room temp. at typical load; 87F watching low qual. Flash videos. Put a fan on it from an old AMD K6 heatsink I had lying around (wired on with a couple sturdy paperclips) and attached it to the one extra fan port on the mobo. Still runs hot, but holds at about 52-58F at up to 80F room temps with average workload, dual monitors, and HD Flash video playback. With 120mm case fan running also (through fan controller), it allows light gaming with temps 60-70F.

2. Although the board has 6 SATA ports, only 4 are usable, unless you enable RAID.

3. For the first month, the board could not decide which device to boot from even after I saved the settings in BIOS. I went back and forth with XFX's lackluster tech support. All of the sudden, the problem disappeared -- no setup changes, no hardware changes, no periphreal changes, no BIOS flash...It just booted the right way every time. Weird, huh? No problem since!

- 500 GB (x2 for 1 TB) Samsung EcoGreen F2 (HD502HI) 500GB SATA
- Windows 7 Home 64 bit
- Samsung Super Writemaster LightScribe DVD/RW
- Antec EarthWatts 380 Watt Power Supply
- Generic mATX case with fan controller and one 90mm case fan and two 120mm case fans
- Approx. Watts at the wall: 37W typical load; 81W playing full quality HD video or light gaming

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board for the Price

Pros: The board is great and has ran great ever since I have installed it. I would definitely buy another and recommend to others. Hybrid SLI is an interesting concept although I can't get it to work (more on that in other thoughts). Onboard Graphics are decent to be on a board like this.

Cons: Not really a con but no memory card reader pins on the board. Not much of an issue as I have laptops that can read SD cards. The CPU socket and RAM standard are showing their age. (again not really a con but there are newer, better technologies out now)

Other Thoughts: No clue how to access BIOS. When I hit the power button I get the XFX screen then Windows loads. No idea whats going on there.

3 out of 5 eggsPDF Manual Says Otherwise

Pros: Good board I Suppose, good overclocking ability.

Cons: I bought the board for the simple fact that it had PCI-Express 2.0 on the specs of the board and that would allow me to fully utilize my video card, but when I bought the board and looked in the manual it specifies that the supported bandwidth of the x16 PCI-E port is only up to 4GB/s. PCI-Express 1.0 is 250MB/s per lane, on a x16 slot that would be 16 lanes which would multiply to 4GB/s at PCI-E 1.0. With PCI-E 2.0 the bandwidth is 500MB/s per lane which on a x16 slot would mean 8GB/s. To be honest this is false advertisement and it really gets on my nerves because I bought this product solely for the purpose of utilizing the full potential of my GTS250.

Other Thoughts: Not really, just disappointed that I wasted $90.

4 out of 5 eggsFans!

Pros: great board. easy to overclock(once the jumper is moved to the right pins) easy access cmos clear button. love the board.!!

Cons: only has 1 extra 3 pin fan connection! this means if you want/need more fans you might have to go with a fan controller.

Other Thoughts: not much room for video cards. im a gamer and use this board to game as well as school tasks (revit, papers and emailing)

4 out of 5 eggsIf anyone is having BSODs or freezing, etc.

Pros: Comes with Geforce 9300. Forward facing SATA ports that does not interfere with BFG GTX 285 installation (and vice versa). Uses DDR2 667, the PDF manual says even 533 works, so I didn't need the Crucial ddr2 800 that I purchased - still in its blister pack, maybe I can resell to a coworker. Motherboard looks sort of cool.

Cons: The glowing red CMOS reset button at the back never goes off. It wouldn't have changed my purchase, but as someone who is paranoid about his hardware, it would have been good to know beforehand. The series of several POST beeps gets on my nerves a bit... sounds like TETRIS or Robotron/Defender/Stargate. I was getting BSODs playing with GTA IV Windows 7 and later with XP, but 1.) removed the northbridge heatsink and the purple dried bubblegum thermal material 2.) applied antec formula 5 3.) replaced loose push pins with extra long motherboard standoffs from local computer store, with paper washers and lugnuts on the underside to tighten it up... and now BSODs are gone (mostly -- I shouldn't have been playing GTA IV with this setup in a room that was 81 degrees ambient temperature, that's my stupidity).

Other Thoughts: Q6600, 2GB ddr2 667, GTX 285, alternately using PC Power Cooling 750W, and now Antec NEO He 550W, 500GB, Sony Blu-ray Reader/DVDROM/CDROM. alternately using rocketfish tower case or antec three hundred to check temperatures using speedfan (great program - helped me get to the crux of the problem).

3 out of 5 eggsdecent board setup

Pros: all SATA, nice setup, looks nice.

Cons: USB jacks next to the eSATA jack are too tight to insert anything into., it would bend the PCB. Heatsink is nothing more than show, no BIOS instructions. AMI bios with limited options.

Other Thoughts: don't let the three stars fool you. its a decent board, and i won't buy from anyone else (XFX and Newegg). However, the female USB jacks not being usable ruins the experience for me. i can't afford the time to plan ahead for those things, XFX's QA systems are better than that.

1 out of 5 eggsGOING TO CRY

Pros: has all the bells and whistles but...... NO VIDEO AND A REAL BAD MANUAL

Cons: 1st one was doa 2nd one burned my harddrive, sent it back via RMA .2 and a half weeks later got it .......started boot , no video......looked up online to see if i did something wrong or what the post codes were unpluged everything and added 1 by 1 . even went and spent 200 on a video card to see if that was the issue, had to return it cause that wasnt the prob . had all the main plug in and the 4 pin still nothin so....,nope bad manufacturer this board has all kinda issues
thankfully i had it, sent the board back for full refund

Other Thoughts: ill never buy another piece of garbage XFX as long as i live.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Board

Pros: Great onboard graphics card (for the price). 4 RAM slots is handy when you want that extra kick in pc gaming. Very nice. Sleek look too.

Cons: None to be found!

Other Thoughts: SLI'ing the gfx cards is reccomended (dual video cards). The cpu I'm purchasing with this is a Pentium 4 LGA 775.

5 out of 5 eggsHDMI Sound Does Work

Pros: I had read reviews of the sound not working with the HDMI out, but I took the chance because I was looking for something with HD capable on-board graphics. Turns out for me that the HDMI is passing sound to my LG 50" Plasma which passes digital sound via toslink to my logitech Z 5500's
So far I have been very happy with this for a HTPC MOBO
Great on-board graphics for the price

Cons: would be nice to have SPDIF optical out.
Bios reset button? C'mon isn't this advertising that you will at some point need to do this. Not the best marketing. At least put the button where my 2 year old son can't push it.

Other Thoughts: Video on 1080p was a little choppy sometimes but I have all but cleared this up by using FFDShow.
a few work arounds with this board but when don't you have to tweak something. So I still give it 5 stars
