Pros: ...None yet.
Cons: After installing a 4790k and plugging everything outside a case, the only thing working is fan and led. With a ddFE error that's not even in the MANUAL, how am i suppose to know what's wrong ???
Other Thoughts: I'll update this review when i get a replacement.

This review is from: ASUS Z97-WS Intel LGA1150 HDMI/DisplayPort /Mini DisplayPort Dual server-grade Intel LAN ATX Server Workstation Motherboard for Quad-strength Graphic Power
Pros: Should be a great board.
Cons: BIOS has conflicts that we also known on previous ROG board. I run Windows 7 64 bit with two GTX 750ti cards and an Adaptec 6805E RAID card. Windows will NOT come out of sleep mode. After two months of troubleshooting with all three manufacturers, everything points to the ASUS BIOS not handling the IRQ (or other) conflict. Waiting for BIOS update ... slow in coming.

This review is from: ASUS Z97-WS Intel LGA1150 HDMI/DisplayPort /Mini DisplayPort Dual server-grade Intel LAN ATX Server Workstation Motherboard for Quad-strength Graphic Power
Pros: None
Cons: The Asmedia SATA ports don't seem to do anything. So I bought a PCIe RAID card from Intel (a $300 one with support for up to 24 drives, so not some el-cheapo thing) and put it on the last slot (opposite the CPU). The BIOS said there was no card there, and Windows didn't detect it. So I guess that's a dummy slot? OK, so I moved it to another slot. However since the USB3 was also not working, I deleted the drivers from device manager. I did this because the drivers says "Intel" even though the BIOS claims the controller is from ASMEdia.
Now I kid you not, I've bricked it! I cannot get a USB keyboard to be detected in Windows - not even Windows Setup!!! So what now? Linux, so that I can type? This must be a nightmare....
Other Thoughts: Asus is about to lose a very loyal customer. I can't even remember buying another brand in the last 10 years.

This review is from: ASUS Z97-WS Intel LGA1150 HDMI/DisplayPort /Mini DisplayPort Dual server-grade Intel LAN ATX Server Workstation Motherboard for Quad-strength Graphic Power
Pros: Stable, powerful, no gimmicky features I don't really care about. It comes with a single M.2 SSD slot, which I plan on utilizing when 10Gbps M.2 drives are launched, as well as 2 SATA Express ports, which I'm not sure I'll use yet.
Cons: No bluetooth, but that can be easily remedied.
Other Thoughts: I'm fairly wary about the considerable number of negative reviews on this board, especially the apparently high rate of failure people seem to be experiencing. Hopefully I don't run into any issues with it. I intentionally waited to write this review solely because of this.

Rating: 1/5Bad Board
This review is from: ASUS Z97-WS Intel LGA1150 HDMI/DisplayPort /Mini DisplayPort Dual server-grade Intel LAN ATX Server Workstation Motherboard for Quad-strength Graphic Power
Pros: none. doesn't work
Cons: Board posts but does not enter bios setup, just a blank screen. ASUS support is incompetent and inept.
New Egg does not allow RMAs for this board.
Tried flashing the bios and machine is still not booting up.

Rating: 2/5Good but Failed
This review is from: ASUS Z97-WS Intel LGA1150 HDMI/DisplayPort /Mini DisplayPort Dual server-grade Intel LAN ATX Server Workstation Motherboard for Quad-strength Graphic Power
Pros: This MOBO has some great stuff on it! Very impressive features that allow you to scale your build over time. The over all quality appears to be good. I have never overclocked on this board but there are many option to tweak the performance.
Cons: I did run into some issue about a month after everything was setup and running sweet. One morning I found the board locking up on boot at 98 and 99 of the Q-table error list and the sound failed. A 10 second boot turned into a 5 minute boot. After pulling the board and trouble shooting from the bench I found the onboard USB was randomly failing. This is a surprise since I only had a keyboard mouse connected to USB. The sound I was never able to get to work again even after reloading drivers and trying different devices.
I will be running this thru the warranty at Asus and will update here on the outcome of it.
Other Thoughts: I haven't heard of many problems with this board. But as IT for a company that uses ASUS products I have experienced other failures, this put me and the company I work for on fence over buying their products again.
Manufacturer Response:
