5 out of 5 eggsRunning on 120W Supply

Pros: Small, Compact, Perfect for the RV it is indented on going into.

Cons: Haven't had one yet...

Other Thoughts: Read reviews about needing a 350Watt power supply. I installed this in an In Win B656T case that has a 120W power supply and it runs great. I am using an SSD for a hard drive and no cd rom though. It powers my external hard drive as well for which I watch movies from.

1 out of 5 eggsNever Buying a Motherboard from Newegg, EVER again

Pros: Shipping was fast Received it the next day.
But that's about it

Cons: -DOA
-Refused Refund/Replacement by newegg
- Had to pay Shipping cost only to get same Broken motherboard shipped back to me.

So I want to start of by saying that I have been a newegg member for sometime now. And have been using them as my #1 store for all my electronic needs. Never had a problem. Was always pleased with what I received. Everything was always received in working condition.

I received this motherboard with BENT Pins on the CPU socket. So the ram slot away from the CPU wasn't working out the box. So I immediately opened a RMA ticket and shipped it to newegg only to be denied, Because they said that "I damaged the board". Mind you I have been building and working with computers for many years. never have I damaged a CPU socket. So because there is no way to prove I received a damaged motherboard. They of coarse denied me and sent me the broken board back.

I contacted ASUS. And they said it would cost me anywhere from $60-$90 to fix the problem. To fix something that I received DEFECTIVE from the start.

I am now out of $79.49 + $12 shipping and also without a motherboard.

So lesson learned for me. Don't buy MOTHERBOARDS from Newegg, and don't buy motherboards from ASUS. As they will send you something broken, refuse to help you and want you to pay more money for something you received broken.

Save yourself the headache/Time/Money and buy else Where. If your shopping around for motherboards, i repeat, STAY away newegg/Asus and buy else where. Avoid buying motherboards from here and be very cautious of newegg's shaddy practices

Other Thoughts: I have always suggested Newegg to all my friends/family members. I will definitely stir them away from here and never recommending this site to any one EVER again.

3 out of 5 eggsPSU requirement

Pros: Fulfilled a client request for WinXP compatibility, connectors are positioned well for easier installation, and supports Asus' EPU for energy saving.

Cons: Requires more than 150W PSU so it doesn't work with Antec's slim ISK offerings for micro ITX, even with a low power Celeron and no dedicated graphics card.

Other Thoughts: I'm still keeping the board, but now I have to get a case that can accommodate a higher watt PSU, probably SFX types. IIRC another review says this board needs ~350W PSU.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: Everything I needed from a mini ITX motherboard, at the right price, and it's stable.

Cons: The CPU and RAM, and CPU and PCI-E are extremely close together, be wary of using a non-stock heatsink as it may block one of your RAM slots.
I was using ARCTIC Freezer 11 LP (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186060 ) for my build, which barely fits in here without blocking the PCI-E slot and does block 1 RAM slot. This was more of an inconvenience, since I was only using 1 RAM stick..however it would be nice to see ASUS consider this in future generations of mini-itx boards.

Other Thoughts: I used this for my first mini-ITX build, so partially the con was a newcomer's mistake, not checking size extensively. I am pleased with the board, the building was just a bit more troublesome than it could have been.

3 out of 5 eggsRequires more power than neccessary

Pros: Very small, easy to fit, amazing integrated features

Cons: Requires 350 watt power supply, despite being ITX

Other Thoughts: I was under the impression that the entire point of an ITX motherboard is that it draws extremely little power with an appropriate CPU. I purchased this to go with a miniITX case a friend sent me with an integrated 125 watt power supply.

Buried in the manual is a line about how the motherboard requires at least a 350 watt power supply. Why? By my calculations, this system should draw only 75 watts at peak. Perhaps I'm an idiot, but I really do not understand this.

Regardless, the motherboard has insufficient power to work. I will need to buy a new case and PSU, hiking the costs up. I really wish ASUS had put information about the inflated power requirements on it's website, and Newegg had done likewise for this page.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear that you purchased the motherboad assuming it will handle the 125W PSU. Here is a link below that will help you calculate how much power you will actually need with your setup.
http://support.asus.com/powersupply.aspx

Just using the bare minimum 125W is not powerful enough.

If you have any questions or comments you can email me again at cl-jeffrey@asus.com which I reside in the U.S

ASUS strives to meet and exceeds our customer expectations within our warranty policy.

Jeffrey
