Cons: Have built several PC's from parts. Always ASUS MBs. So not a newbie.
New Build. No Windows installed yet.
The problem summary is that BIOS doesn't see the LG DVD SATA optical drive, but sees the SATA HDD.
UEFI BIOS recognizes my SATA 3 HDD, but doesn't see the new LG SATA DVD. I have swapped cables, swapped SATA ports. Tried another new LG drive same model. Put the DVD drive in the SATA port that previously recognized the HDD, so I know it works.
So I don't think it's a DVD Drive or motherboard issue. Some setting I don't know about?? Something simple I hope I'm overlooking
Need the DVD drive to load Win 7
Manufacturer Response:
Dear Valued Customer,
Sorry to hear that your DVD drive isn't being recognize. Please make sure the DVD drive is set to Master. Press ESC to see if you see the DVD drive listed and set to #1 priority.
Should be able to recognize the DVD drive unless it's not compatible with our MB. Have you tried usind another DVD drive. Did you already tried connecting the SATA HDD to all the sata ports to see if they are being recognize in the bios.

Pros: Decent specs, cheap price, always liked ASUS products.
Cons: DoA. Fails to boot as far as POST or BIOS with the new RAM I bought, the old RAM I still had on hand, or even with no RAM in it whatsoever. Tech support insisted the RAM was the problem, even though a 4-pack of identical RAM to what I'd bought was on their QVL. Tech support wasn't quite rude, but gave the impression that they thought I had no right to be messing around with computer hardware even though I've been building custom computers for 14 years. Techs also couldn't answer half my questions without extended absences to "go check on that" on things I thought should've been fairly common tech support questions when you start with "what RAM is on the most recent QVL for the P8B75-V motherboard?"
Other Thoughts: Pretty sure they could see what I typed as I typed it, as when I asked for a specific URL, followed by an explanation for why, I got the requested URL in under three seconds. Funny thing how I then got disconnected for "long user inactivity" while I was typing and asking how come it wouldn't boot with no RAM.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear Valued Customer,
Sorry to hear that your new RAM that you purchased also wasn't able to get the motherboard to boot or POST. Are you able to power up the motherboard. Do you see any LED on or do you hear a beeping noise.
I am thinking if you purchased the motherboard and right out of the box it's not booting, I suggest returning the unit for an exchange with newegg if you are still under their return policy.
Also, please look to make sure none of the pins are bent. Also have you tried pressing the memOK! with just one stick of RAM and does it boot or POST.

Rating: 4/5Great except
Pros: Everything works perfectly. BIOS is great, good on-board sound. Does what its supposed to do.
Cons: NO SLI?????? This boggled my mind when I found this out. An Intel motherboard that supports Nvidia graphics cards, yet only allows Crossfire? Why in my right mind would I buy an Intel motherboard if I was going to use AMD GPU's? AMD users use AMD cards and crossfire. An Intel user almost always uses Nvidia cards. Why have a motherboard thats fully capable of multiple GPU's yet instead of giving it SLI capability they put in crossfire in which no one who buys this motherboard will use?

Rating: 5/5Great Motherboard
Pros: For a low end motherboard, this board is great motherboard. For an Intel B75 chipset, it works well and fast. I don't notice the difference really between my friend's ASRock motherboard, which is apparently a slightly better chipset than mine. The board is fairly strong, and even looks nice. I would highly suggest this board to people building an Intel build computer.
Cons: Price is a little high.

Rating: 5/5Nice Mobo
Pros: -Low price. -Lots of slots for expansion. -Fancy BIOS.
Cons: -The board is a little floppy. -The lack of a Q-connector makes me sad.
Ethernet wasn't supported out-of-the-box with Windows 7. I had a small panic attack before I found that the drivers for it are included on the CD. Not an issue to knock off an egg for, just something to make note of.
Other Thoughts: This is my third build with an ASUS board. It's been up and running for a few hours now, and hasn't let me down yet. (Will update if I come across any issues)

Rating: 3/5board with complications
Pros: it boots up fast. has some good features such as cpu temperature sensors and such(never owned a mobo that did that). and its a good looking board.
Cons: i got this board to replace a broken one, i have an external hdd and a usb i use for back ups and after installing all the drivers from the support cd, unless im on safe mode, the mobo doesnt want to read the 16gb usb and my external hdd(before installing the drivers it could read them fine) so -1 egg, the other -1 comes from the fact that i've spent hours trying troubleshooting this, and i even reinstalled windows 7 just to make sure i want going mad and breaking my equipment.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for your feedback. In Windows 7, drivers can be rolled back to a previous version. Rating: 5/5Basic MB, Great Value
Pros: No issues with the MB so far. It perfectly fits my needs as I balance my work/play life. Expansion slots (incl PCIex3) provides enough room to keep my PC up-to-date with anything I need. CPU: G630 Mem: DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) - Mush Stays cool, works well, can't beat it for the value!
Cons: I do not overclock, but read that this motherboard does not support OC very well, if at all.
Other Thoughts: If you are not a hardcore gamer, and don't OC your build, then I highly recommend this board. It should be able to bring you into the new age. I hate having too many options, like OC, when I know for a fact that I will not be doing that. This is the perfect MB for the average user.
