5 out of 5 eggsBest Motherboard Ever

Pros: Super Stable Overclocking power!
Plenty of room for up to 3way SLI with a SoundCard!
8 Ram Dimms
Selective PCIE power switches
Comes with BF3

Cons: Cant do 4way sli and have a sound card. Not enough room unless you have 4 true single slot cards.
Intel Raid Drivers are a little buggy,
My raid config gets damaged with every bios upgrade i perform on this motherboard. So i decided not to use the raid controller.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This mainboard has all the options you will need to build a High End Intel i7 x79 system. Overclocking tools are refiened and accessable even on a mobile device such as an Iphone.

Cons: The onboard sound is just passable. It uses the basic Audio from realtech. It does have optical out but almost no format upasample capability. If you want DTS, THX or Dolby Digital you will want to purchase a dedicated audio card.

Other Thoughts: I love the power and flexability of this board.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing MB

Pros: This board is Amazing so many features and Over clocking settings, hard to pick out the best one. Set-up was easy navigation the bios took a little bit to get used to. First board I have had with all the features that this one has.all the RG(republic of gamers) design is the best board type IMO.

Cons: Not really a con. The learning curve for this board is high but once you get it you will be unstoppable

Other Thoughts: Asus Rampage IV, i7-3960X, CORSAIR H100 W/COUGAR CF-V12HP fans, G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 32GB DDR 2133, Crucial M4 256 GB SSD for (OS windows 7 ultra), Western digital Black 2TB HD, EVGA GeForce GTX 580 Classified ULTRA 3072MB, enermax 1350wt power supply all in a cooloermaster HAF 932

4 out of 5 eggsStable, customizable

Pros: Great Motherboard, customizable bios splash screen. The CMOS reset button on the back is key along with the automatic overclocking failure resets.

Cons: boot is a bit slow, loud chipset fan, onboard audio is sub-par

Other Thoughts: The lack of conventional PCI makes it difficult to find an affordable sound card to replace the onboard audio.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor layout, half baked features and software.

Pros: X79 chipset on an Asus board.

Cons: Asus must think people put 4 video cards on the board all the time. That is the main the feature of this board. If you have a discrete audio card and even just 2 video cards, you will have to set them so close together they run hotter. Moving the pci slot would have fixed this.
The OC key is plain stupid. You need about a foot of room behind your case to use it.

Other Thoughts: I picked this board out for a friend to help him build his dream system. In trying to use all of Asus' features and software he has rendered it unbootable more than once becoming my nightmare. I would pick almost any other x79 board before reusing this. A shame because I own the rampage 3 and love it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product - Very Slow RMA

Pros: Fast, Great Interface, Good Quality, Easy to liquid cool.
Runs consistently at 5k.

Cons: Asus Motherboard tech support is ok, but the RMA process is horrible. My system board is needing an RMA but they do not have stock. When they do not have stock it is the customers responsibility to call every few days to find out if they have stock. This is a great waste of my time and theirs. They have no queue for people who are waiting for a product advance replacement if they don't have stock.

Other Thoughts: If Asus was not the best product out there I would purchase from another company due to RMA processing.

My advice is to by extended warranty replacement from Newegg... Newegg is GREAT!

5 out of 5 eggsWhat can I Say?

Pros: Another high quality ROG Asus board. Have the abilty to quickly reset a BIOS after many OC fails is very nice. This is able to achieve some agressive OC's profiles, and EMP works as advertised. This is one SWEET board that puts all of its power into your hands. I love showing this thing off.

Cons: Does not make Capuchinno!

1 out of 5 eggsNOT RECOMMENDED

Pros: Great features on paper.

Cons: - Poor technical/RMA support from ASUS
- Inconsistent issues posting BIOS
- Does not always detect my Highpoint RocketRAID controller
- BIOS takes a very long time to POST/boot
- Chipset fan is a little on the loud side

Other Thoughts: After recently updating the BIOS in hopes of resolving an issue detecting my RocketRAID 2320 PCIe controller (which was 100% stable in my last system), I ended up having to spend many hours removing different components to even get it to POST only to find a corrupted array on the on-board Intel RAID controller requiring an OS reload.

In the end I was not able to get the on-board sound adapter to detect my speakers requiring contact with their tech support who immediately said I would need a replacement. After waiting the "48 hours" for information about the RMA with no response, I called to learn I would have to send it in and wait 2 weeks for repair because they "were out of stock". No advanced replacement on a board this expensive is ridiculous. If they are having a lot of problems with this board perhaps they should buy back some stock from their retailers so they can make good with their existing customers.

ASUS is now officially on my "do not buy or recommend" list.

3 out of 5 eggsStarted overheating after few months

Pros: Loaded with tons of features you won't find anywhere else.
Makes overclocking extremely easy.

Cons: Had a problem booting right out of the box, takes 10-15 seconds between power on and any sort of output to display on the monitor. Meanwhile, the boot-up LED lights up red.

And yesterday, started heating up to 10 C greater than previous average. Not sure what caused this, going to contact asus tech support in the morning.

5 out of 5 eggsLOVE IT!

Pros: It (was) a great motherboard. Plenty of SATA ports for my Hard Drives. Stuck an Intel 3960x in and played minecraft for a little while.

Cons: Sadly, has NO rock protection. You would think at this price it would be invulnerable to rocks. But NO. Broke into 3 spots when I dropped a rock on it.

Other Thoughts: Love the board, but ASUS, add Rock Insurance please.
