5 out of 5 eggsWoot

Pros: Tons of features on it, tons of SATA ports, super easy to overclock, and can be real advanced as well, so many USB's too, even esata and powered esata, bluetooth...i love this things, rocking a 2600K oc'ed to 4.5Ghz, 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600 RAM, 2xGTX 760s in SLI, 5x1TB Western Digital Green HDDs, 1x120GB Samsung Evo SSD, 850W Corsair TX Enthusiast PSU, Antec 1200 case

Cons: no wifi but I should of gotten the one with it

Other Thoughts: I'll be honest I bought this back in 2011 and I had it for 2 months before it just randomly died in the middle of gaming combat arms, I suspected it was the video card but at the time I didn't have the time to RMA...I moved to a different state and didn't touch this mobo for amost 2 years, fast forward to last week when i finally decided to work on it, RMA's the evga video card, sent in a GTX 580, they sent back suprisingly a GTX 780, with ASUS, I sent in my motherboard and they sent me the same board, fixed. I spoke to a ASUS rep and he told me that when they got the board they noticed there was CID, or Customer Induced Damage, which they don't cover, apparently the CPU socket had bent pins (oops!), ASUS went ahead and fixed the problem on their own dime! The piece of paper said "CID: Still Repair" I knew I could count on you guys! THe board booted fine first shot and hasn't shown any issues...I have a ASUS Monitor VG248QE, and laptop. I trust them completely, ASUS ROCKS

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: very little this board doesn't offer
tons of data
tons of USB
lighted chip set heatsink

Cons: no built in WiFi
sata 2

Other Thoughts: I have only had the deluxe a day or two now, but I love it way more than my pro! my pro stopped recognizing ram in the 2 slots closest to the CPU after about 2 weeks. other than that, it ran flawlessly. I saw there were other versions of this board, especially with more options, and I decided to go for it. it even recognized my 6tb raid0 array, at first. it didn't survive the bios update, though. good thing the info did! I was surprised that the chipset heatsink lit up, however. I really didn't expect that. all in all, great series of boards, minus a hiccup or two. will revise if anything changes!

2 out of 5 eggsDead after year

Pros: Initial setup went perfectly-

Cons: 3-4 months after install, a USB 3.0 port died, then others. Booting became an issue w/ motherboard error codes- manual tells you what the code is, not how to fix the issues. Asus support on web site is non-existent and am now looking for replacement MB.

Other Thoughts: Thought i was getting a good MB for the money but was incorrect- Support is horrible, will not go with Asus for cpu needs.

1 out of 5 eggsWas great until...

Pros: Great while it still runs.

Cons: Fails after less than a year, taking out components with it.

Other Thoughts: This board was absolutely phenomenal up until today. I came home to find my computer off. After hitting the power button to turn the computer on. It wouldn't boot. The power button LEDs inside were turned on. I power recycled, then turned the computer on. All at one there was a rush of smoke and sparks. I pull the computer apart to find that the board had arced and destroyed one of my graphics cards on the computer. The card being only 2 months old.

1 out of 5 eggspile of do do

Pros: nothing

Cons: the usb ports keep cutting out within a month of having it, i've emailed asus and they are like "spend ur money, and send it to us, then wait around 2-3 weeks and we will send you a refurbished one" then your out of a computer for those 2-3 weeks,

Other Thoughts: go with a gigabyte board

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for the USB port issue with the motherboard. Unfortunately, when issues occur and we are not able to resolve them through phone or online support, we must receive the motherboard for service. 1 out of 5 eggsVideo Card Slot Dies

Pros: Motherboard worked great at first.

Cons: After 7 months my video card slot randomly died. I never saw this happen before. I thought for sure it was my old monitor, so I had it replaced.

Now I'm out an extra $250 because the issue was not the monitor, but the motherboard. I swapped the card into the alternative slot and suddenly I could get a picture again.

Unfortunately this slot is positioned as such that my power supply now exhausts directly into my video card's heat exhaust and games no longer run smoothly.

Other Thoughts: Unless this is replaced quickly, I'm never buying an Asus again.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We're sorry to hear that the PCIe slot failed. Please call us at 1-812-282-2787 or use our online form at http://vip.asus.com/eservice/usa_rmaserv.aspx to request a RMA so that we can repair the part on your motherboard or replace it with another. We apologize for the inconvenienced this may cause.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent motherboard

Pros: Good assortments of ports and add-in card slots. USB 3.0 and high 2 high speed SATA ports. Decent layout for build and CPU placement within the case. RAID-1 works.

Cons: The PS/2 keyboard port isn't reliable with Windows 7. I spent a long time trying to fix this; including modifying the PS/2 driver to add some longer retries. However, I was having some strange system 'hangs' and I decided it was due to this port going 'out to lunch'; so I converted to a USB keyboard and mouse. ASUS shouldn't include this port if it isn't compatible. I have had another hang issue that I think is related to a newer NVIDIA driver and my video card.

Other Thoughts: It would be nice to have two more high speed SATA ports on the Intel chipset. The two on the MARVEL chip are reported to be much slower.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked great... for 9 months

Pros: It has all the features I was looking for at the time, including plenty of USB ports and USB support. The Realtek audio was surprisingly good quality and the ASUS software suite was surprisingly pleasing as well.

Cons: Died after 9 months, never could get front audio jacks to work right on my Corsair 800D with this board. Some of the positions for the cables weren't as well thought out as I would have liked.

Other Thoughts: Kind of disappointed it would just pop after 9 months. I was just going along using it yesterday like normal and suddenly it just powered off and wouldn't start up. Power is definitely still getting to the board, there wasn't any kind of power outage or anything like that, and the computer is hooked up behind two rather strong surge protectors to boot. I intend to inspect it more closely with the help of a friend today and see if I can spot what happened, but I'm definitely disappointed that an Asus product didn't have the staying power.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We're sorry to hear about your experience with this motherboard. Please try to use another power supply to see if the system can power on and verify the cable connections. If no change, use our online form at: http://vip.asus.com/eservice/usa_rmaserv.aspx or call us at 1-812-282-2787 to RMA the motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: Paired with an Intel 2600K it runs great with fantastic clocking ability.

Cons: Only wish the Marvell SATA ports could've been an additional (2) Intel 6gb/s ports instead.

Other Thoughts: Would buy again!
