5 out of 5 eggsUsed in an HP Pavillion a6500f

Pros: Does everything I needed it for, and is up-gradable to a quad core should I want an upgrade. Everything from the HP carried over fine and is working great!

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: It's hard to find the right match for a name brand PC sometimes. So if anyone is looking for a new motherboard for this HP model, this one is verified working.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Decent motherboard

Pros: Price.

Cons: Some features outdated.

Other Thoughts: Got this to replace another ASUS motherboard I had to RMA. The one I sent back was a better board, but was out of stock by the time my RMA got there (less than a week). Had to substitute this board, and it worked ok. Don't really know why they want to put a Parallled port and a serial port on anything anymore, but thats ok. Has decent onboard sound, and forget about onboard video.

4 out of 5 eggsI Love ASUS

Pros: Low cost, easy setup.

Cons: No Windows 2003 Server drivers

Other Thoughts: I used this for a NAS solution running Windows 2003 Server R2. Although no drivers wee available for this board I was able to get a good server running. I didn't need audio or LAN since I used a Intel Pro 1000 NIC. The video was acceptable and I had no problems installing it in a LI LIAN Micro ATX case.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard

Pros: Very nice, Windows 7 x64 compatible... bundled GPU is powerful not only for full Windows Aero but worked with Portal game (moderate resolution)

Installed it with a Q6600 with out issues

Faster than the VIA chipset version of the same socket

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: One of the last LGA775 options

5 out of 5 eggs3rd p5kpl-am epu, open box

Pros: Note: The eggs in this case are for the mobo only.

I bought it as an open box item and it works perfectly just like the two retail p5kpl-am epu mobo's I bought.

Cons: When I recieved the open box item, it had a piece of tape reading "recertified" taping the box shut, which was a retail box with all the accessories. I thought I was buying an open box item, not a recertified item . . . Egg's Bad.

Other Thoughts: Even before i fired up this particular mobo, it stank near the coil. After i fired it up, it STANK (yes, STANK) for a while. WTH? ... i've had it running nonstop for several days now with a cpu overclocked by 500mhz and the smell is gone and everything is working fine . . . i will never take a chance on an open box item again, that's for sure! Egg, you scared me on this one.

5 out of 5 eggsOldie but Goodie

Pros: No issues when upgrading from dual core E5300 to quad core q9505. I did update the BIOS prior to the upgrade, which was no big deal. Over clocks well. Cool temps. Best 775 board available even today. I bought a second one in case my first one ever bites the dust.

Cons: For true "OC enthusiasts" this borad will be a bit lacking and you all are probably in the 1366 platform anyway by now. Still, voltage tweak options are mostly non-existent, FYI.

Other Thoughts: Right now on air cooling my CPU is at 3.35Ghz, FSB at 1574Mhz, and memory around 950Mhz (GSkill PI 1100mhz ddr2). After 9hrs of Prime95 my highest core temp was 67c on core 1 (rated up to 100c). Im using the Dynatron K987 CPUI. I'm also using a Zotac GTS250 for video and a SilverStone 750watt 80plus silver modular PSU all in one of those little Apevia XQpac cases. (3 HDDS as well). Case is so small and PSU so big I had to opt for an external optical drive. Who cares!

I really am enjoying my system and recommend all above mentioned componets for your next 775 build or upgrade.

5 out of 5 eggsVery SOlid Mobo

Pros: Good price. Very solid Bios, OC' options surprised me.

Cons: I didn't get one for my mini PC I built for WoW Lan'ning at a friends house for 3's Arena's, Rated BG's.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for my mother's PC I built. After playing with the Bios, and OC option's, I'm quite impressed with this mobo.

2.66ghz Core 2 Duo OC'd to 3.0 (for stability, not like mom needs any more ;p)

800mhz 1gb x2 memory OC'd to 972, with latency set at 4-4-4-12.

Still might have to get myself one for my Lan pc.

3 out of 5 eggsProblem with I/O Faceplate?

Pros: Price!
Haven't gotten a chance to really test this board yet..

Cons: - Had a bit of a hard time installing the CPU fan (the stock one that snaps in). I think the holes may be slightly smaller so what you need to do is put small pressure on the metal part just to get the pins across the board then push-down the levers.
- There is something wrong with that faceplate or a combination of my tower and the faceplate.. I get NO power to the board when the motherboard is installed and using the faceplate, if I take out the motherboard I do get power, putting back the mobo in the tower without the I/O faceplate also worsk fine. I only have that problem (no power to board) when I'm using the faceplate for some reason, seems like it may short the board or something.

Other Thoughts: Like I said, didn't really get a chance to test this board yet, I'm trying to decide if I will install this board with no I/O faceplate or contact newegg support for suggestions on what to do..
