3 out of 5 eggsHow Has the P6X58D lasted?

Pros: It got me to the dance.

Cons: Occasionally burps, that is slows down or reboots for no apparent reason. And boy, is this motherboard picky on components.

Other Thoughts: This is my second motherboard, the first having a component that was actually broken when it arrived - a cap fell off.

There's a setting you must fiddle with to get the SSD to be the boot drive in the BIOS. In Win 7 you have to fiddle with some internal settings to get the ethernet to work at all, pretty much turning it into only a 100 connection instead of the stated 1000.

1 out of 5 eggsNot what I expected from ASUS :(

Pros: Very fast board when it worked.

Cons: Not overclocked, yet it locks frequently. Has been frustrating since new and now it appears to have completely failed.

Other Thoughts: This could be my last ASUS board... maybe ASUS will be kind enough to help me give them another chance... otherwise I can't take the risk.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent for ASUS

Pros: Overclocking was easy for a first timer. This was the first rig in which I attempted to OC the processor. I also liked the stored BIOS settings profiles. I could easily switch between settings without having to right down all my settings for each profile. Saves a lot of time.

Cons: I am knocking off 1 egg for two issues I had with this board. Issue #1 was with the stock (Auto) settings for the CPU voltages. Even without overclocking the voltages are two low. I was experiencing frequent crashes since the CPU was not getting enough juice. Had to manually increment the voltages in order to stabilize. This process actually took several months since it took me a while to nail down the problem. Issue #2 is with the RAM slots, which many users have had a problem with. I attempted to add another set of DIMMS into channel 2, but the board would not boot. I am not knocking off a second egg for this since it is an X58 chipset issue more than it is an ASUS mobo problem.

Other Thoughts: Soon to be replaced Rig:
i7 920 @ 3.6Ghz stable
6GB G.Skill Trident DDR3
EVGA GTX 470 gfx card
Corsair 850TX psu
This mobo

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Awesome board when it works.

Cons: I have had an okay experience with Asus themselves. They have always been polite and RMA'd this board without much trouble. But this board is HORRIBLE. First it doesn't see all of the RAM, then it completely dies during use. So I RMA it and wait. Board shows up and is dead on arrival. Next board shows up DOA as well. I have RMA'd this board 3 or 4 times. I bought an awesome system in 2010 that I have used a total of 7 months in between RMAs of this board. I essentially paid $1100 for a paper weight.

1 out of 5 eggsAWFUL COMPANY

Pros: None whatsoever.

Cons: Motherboard crashes gets VERY HOT, ASUS gives you such a hard time to RMA and then when they did they sent me back the same Motherboard. They will not respond to any of my emails after my other review when they posted they will help me they never did.

Just go to the Better Business Bureau website and you will see it has been RED FLAGGED as a very bad company due to it's constant lack of honoring their warranties AND their customer service is awful.

Other Thoughts: Stay AWAY from ASUS. Better Business Bureau has many many complaints on this company not responding, Refusing to honor their warranties and Very bad customer service.
